Review for Dr. De Falco's Office - Paramus, NJ I was hoping to receive respectful care at this office, but unfortunately, my experience with the front desk staff was very disappointing. When I spoke with them, they reacted negatively to my accent and broken English. I felt judged and dismissed. One assistant made me repeat my address three times, even though I was speaking clearly. This made me feel nervous and unwelcome. Later, I decided to cancel my appointment. I was repeatedly told about payment policies and other advertising messages in a way that felt more like pressure than support. It gave me the impression that they assumed I couldn't afford the care or didn't understand the process--just because I'm Hispanic. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, no matter their background or language. I hope this office reflects on how they speak to patients and makes changes to be more inclusive and respectful. read more

A welcoming atmosphere greeted warmly by staff and Dr. Defalco. Service was quick, X-rays taken, shown x-ray and explained the issue I was facing in a relaxing manner. Recommended I leave things as is and allow the body to deal with the issue since there was no compelling reason to pursue any treatment. The body may alleviate the issue on its own. A refreshing approach for a patient that turned 80 and was not attending his first rodeo. More doctors should be this conversant. I agree with William B on here. Very similar experience. My negative review has also been removed? Receptionist failed to confirm the wisdom teeth removal with new ins company. She was lazy - her reply was don't worry cops, firemen, teachers all have good ins. I told her when one ins would change and she repeated same chant. Well lo and behold one ins did not cover and there was an $800 balance. She would not admit her mistake and the dentist was ranting on saying he was there when she told us . Again, not true. I needed a specialized, uncommon oral surgery. My dentist recommended Dr DeFalco as the surgeon he would use himself. My experiences with Dr DeFalco and his AOMSNJ staff were absolutely superb, during all phases before, during, and after surgery. Dr DeFalco was open and communicative about the testing, diagnosis, options, procedure, and followup. He explained everything, and helped calm my worries. In the end, Dr DeFalco led a substantial medical team at St Joseph's Hospital to perform the delicate surgery, with complete success. I had no surprises - and the whole thing was quicker than expected. The medical team at St Joseph's was on-point, knowledgeable, calm, supportive, collaborative, and professional. WOW ... So it seems Dr Defalco must have paid to have my negative review that I posted back in October 2017 REMOVED. #shady Let's start over. It began with his NASTY and UNPROFESSIONAL receptionist. She failed to do her job and confirm if they accepted our insurance before she put us into the room for x-rays and consultation. My son needed wisdom teeth removed. When the consultation was finished, I went to the front counter to schedule the surgery. I was told by the receptionist that our insurance was not in their plan and it would be 300.00. I asked why didn't you check before you put us in? She said that's not my job, yet she did take the insurance card and clearly checked that it wasn't in the plan. So my response was well you should have checked first before taking x-rays. She got VERY nasty and condescending. I then tried to speak to Dr. Defalco and he sided with his receptionist and was fine with her speaking to a client in the manner that she did. UPDATE... I then started the process of getting my insurance to cover the out of network charges. With much resistance and continued nastiness by the receptionist, we attempted to get the proper codes and such so that the ins co. would pay the claim. Dr. Defalco and staff apparently refused to comply with the insurance co. (probably due to the removed Yelp review) and therefore the claim would not be covered by our ins co. NOW..... I am being sued by Dr Defalco for the money charged. YES SUED for incompetence and laziness of a staff person who could have simply said let me check real quick that you are covered. I went to Dr Defalco from a recommendation of mutual lifelong friends. I was completely blown away at the treatment I received not only by the angry receptionist but the Dr himself. I am surprised that the review was removed. I am disappointed at the way this was all handled. Although I see a few positive reviews I can't help but wonder how many Dr Defalco had removed. It's also very telling that they are all older reviews. No recent ones. BEWARE...DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND CHECK TO SEE IF YOUR COVERED ... IF YOU DARE TO USE HIM. read more

Dr.DeFalco and his team are nothing short of fantastic. I went to his office to get a consultation done for my wisdom teeth. I am 26 years old and never had any major surgery or had to be put under before, so needless to say I was terrified. Dr.DeFalco and team were extremely understanding, comforting, and reassuring. They took care of me so well. After my consultation, I had to schedule my appointment about 2 weeks after. At the consultation, I was notified that I had to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed,it was going to take about 1 hour for surgery, and I was going to need stitches. The day of the surgery, it took him 20 minutes to remove all 4 of my teeth and I didn't need stitches! I had to have laughing gas and local anesthesia, and woke up shortly after feeling so relieved. I highly recommend going to Dr.DeFalco's office for ANY type of oral surgery. I could not be any more pleased with the service and care that I received from his office. read more

I came to Dr. DeFalco for a consultation regarding my wisdom teeth. The initial consultation was quick, no more than 15 minutes. There was barely any wait time and once I was brought back the doctor immediately started talking to me about my options. I ended up scheduling my appointment about six weeks after the initial visit and I was very satisfied with everything. The office is small, in what was once a home. It appears that they schedule patients in a staggered and realistic time frame. For today's appointment the doctor and his staff were waiting for me, which is a great change at a doctors office. The staff was so friendly and made me feel very comfortable the afternoon of my procedure. I was nervous about having all four of my wisdom teeth removed, but they eased my nerves from the second I got there. Dr. DeFalco made me feel relaxed during the procedure.. I'm sure it wasn't just the laughing gas, but the doctors laid back and joking attitude that helped keep me calm. Once we got started I could not believe how quickly and effortlessly everything went. All in all it took the doctor less than 10 mins to remove all four teeth. I hope to not need any further services offered by Dr. DeFalco, but if something should ever come up I will definitely be visiting this office again. read more

Both my sons had their wisdom teeth taken out by Dr. Defalco. I can't say enough about how professional, supportive and caring Dr. Defalco and his staff were to both of my sons. Both of their procedures were painless and the recovery was quick. The aftercare instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The nurse called twice to see how they were doing. I came to Dr. DeFalco to remove all four wisdom teeth. We had an initial consultation where he walked me through my options and the procedure and he had me out of his office within 15 minutes. The actual surgery was a two weeks later and was such a breeze. I don't remember any of the procedure and after my friend drove me home, I slept off the sedation for the rest of the day. One thing of note is how little pain I felt in the aftermath. There was blood, of course, but I felt very little discomfort in my mouth. I was back to eating regularly within the week. After the last follow up to check how my teeth and gums were doing, I was completely done! The staff is very friendly and the facility is clean. Dr. DeFalco is a highly trained Maxillofacial oral surgeon who recently did my implants. He is extremely efficient and competent and I was totally at ease while he was working on my mouth. Dr. Defalco took all 4 of my wisdom teeth out recently and it could not have gone any better! I was so nervous to have them taken out especially since the older you are the harder it is. However, Dr. Defalco did an amazing job and it was such an easy, pleasant experience. First of all he answers all my questions and with honestly too. For example, I asked how likely nerve damage was and he said with me it can be likely (no nerve damage though!). I followed all his instructions and my recovery was very easy.
