Dr's at the hospital refused to give me pain meds because I had a chronic disease and I suffered with severe pain because they felt my kidneys would fail. I explained that patients should be notified in advance if there is a change in provider. I was then connected with the office manager, Monica, who stated that my insurance would still be billed at the doctor's rate despite being seen by a nurse practitioner. I am also concerned that there was no prior communication or transparency about this change, nor was any apology offered for the inconvenience caused..She offered to reschedule me for another appointment next week, but that was not an option for me due to my work schedule. The wait time to see the NP was about an hour. So disappointing.
