Waited 2.5hrs to see doctor. The waiting room was extremely packed and office is small. The patients in waiting area mentioned to me that they usually wait several hours to see the doctor. This is so bad. Im very disappointed and will not use this doctor (medical office) again. read more

Dr showed a lot of care and empathy for my dad , sister, mom and I . Currently still recovering from his surgery but I'm hopeful in Dr.Yacoub . It's a scary thing to deal with, and Dr really made us trust him and I really hope my dad will recover. Thank you Dr Yacoub honest, experienced and skilled. The surgery And biopsies are all done in hospital. Office visits are at his small practice in Montebello. Such kind husband wife duo. Cristina in the front admin is also always so nice and patient with us. My sister and I have been really anxious about this, and after all the pre op referrals and tests that had to be taken she was always answering and caring with us. It's a very busy office, but they are still caring and attentive . I hope no one has to get this treatment but if you are in that position with Dr .Yacoub you are in good hands . Dr. Yacoub was very professional, listened to my concerns and came up with a great plan for my care. His nurse (unfortunately I didn't get her name) made me feel comfortable and explained in depth a few things I didn't understand. The office staff was professional and pleasant. The doctor is a bit of a drive from where I live, so I was a little bummed about that but after my visit, it was definitely worth it. I wish to identify both Dr. Yacoub and his wonderful colleague Maddie for their kind, caring, respectful and efficient advice. Their expert recommendations connected to my physical well being have always been on the mark. Maddie has repeatedly maneuvered the office schedule when I experienced direct conflicts with my itinerary. My boyfriend was referred by his PCP to see Dr. Atef L. Yacoub in Montebello, but unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. I had already seen many negative reviews about this office but felt we had no choice due to his insurance. I called and spoke with a receptionist named Christina, explaining that my boyfriend's case was urgent--he had been to the ER multiple times for kidney stones, and both the ER and PCP recommended he see Dr. Yacoub as soon as possible. PCP was even typed an urgent letter recommended to be seen as URGENT. Christina initially wouldn't schedule an appointment, saying we had to fax his records over for the doctor to review first, which we did immediately. I was assured we'd get a callback once reviewed, but we never received one. I called back around noon to confirm that the records had been received, and she confirmed they had but still would not schedule an appointment. Christina mentioned that the doctor is only in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and even though it was a Thursday, she would not provide an urgent appointment. Since my boyfriend was in pain, he ended up returning to the ER, where the doctors questioned why he hadn't followed up with a urologist--a frustrating question given the obstacles we faced in scheduling with this office. Christina continued to provide excuses, claiming the doctor's limited schedule and upcoming holiday closures meant no appointments would be available for a month later. After yet another call where she responded rudely, I told her we would switch to a different IPA and find another urologist. It's clear why there are so many low reviews for this office--they seem to show little concern for patients or urgent cases. If you're considering this office, be aware that getting an appointment, even for urgent needs, may be challenging. I find it troubling that people in the medical field would handle patients this way. read more

Terrible experience. Came in with so many questions and left with zero answers. After months of being referred everywhere. This was by far the most frustrating experience. The waiting time was mid, but the experience with the doctor was the worst. Worst experience ever I waited almost three months for appointment. Took 1hr 1/2hrs to see me. The Dr. is very unprofessional with patients and staff. Dr. ATEF L. YACOUB was constantly talking down to his employees and patients . I kept explaining my situation and he thinks he can shut people up . He brought his secretary in to the room where he was examining me and started telling her in front of me why she's not doing her job right . Put her on blast right in front of me. And started saying "this is a joke!" because I did have my X-rays, blood work. But that's his office job to get that paperwork together prior to any appointment. The way he treats his employees I couldn't stand to watch it so I had to say something. I told him he shouldn't be scolding the nurse in front of me, and it's a small room. So then he started talking bad to me saying it's his office not to tell him how to treat his employees or what to do . Worst experience ever. I wish I would of saw his one star before showing up to this appointment. Poor people that go there and work there. I will put this in all social media to alert people of this doctor . Excellent care. He Took the time to carefully evaluate my condition- Then He Prescribed an effective Medication. Warned me about my eating habits, I ignored his advice. My condition worsened he Prescribed a stronger dosage. It worked. Then He Gave Another Scolding for My disregard of his advice. He then explained the very serious ramifications of my bad habits. That scared me but not enough to cause me to change. I got in a traffic collision before my appointment. My healing was impaired by due to my condition. I had a normally fatal blood infection which was aggravated by my atrocious eating habits. Dr's at the hospital refused to give me pain meds because I had a chronic disease and I suffered with severe pain because they felt my kidneys would fail. All because I refused to heed Dr. Yacoub's warnings. I lost my ability to walk and I had to spend an additional two weeks in rehab. My bad habits are now under control. My mom was a patient with Dr. Atef Yacoub. Due to medical conditions with her bladder she wears a permanent catheter. Her catheter is replaced once a month. In the beginning of this year she suffered multiple UTI's and was rushed once a week for a month to the ER to have have the catheter replaced due to UTI's. Ctheter's are not meant to be exchanged that often and the ER doctor suggested she see her Urologist as soon as possible. The hospital always ran test and each test came back positive for a UTI. After a couple of weeks of trying to get the doctor office to see her, which is another complaint on it's own, they finally made her an appointment. The day I took her to see Dr. Yacoub my mothers primary doctor had faxed over all the hospitals records which included blood, urine results and doctor notes stating she had a UTI every single time she was admitted to the ER. After waiting 2 hours pass her appointment time, Dr. Yacoub examine her, and he said to me that he didn't understand why she was there to see him. That the hospital reports show "NO Infection, NO UTI's " that she is okay and that the catheter looks great. Then he said to me its all in her head, and that he is going to suggest a psychological evaluation! A PSYCHOLOGICL EVALUATION! As I stood there telling him that is impossible. That I've have been in the emergency room when they have said to me "she has a UTI". He said no, show me where it said on these reports "the report show no UTI's and that its all in her head". The reports were loaded onto his computer and to be honest I didn't know what he's looking at. After leaving his office I called the hospital and they confirmed to me that each test that was faxed to his office showed she had a UTI.....each test! I also spoke to her primary doctor, and she was also surprised with his outcome. My mother primary doctor tried to reached out to Dr. Yacoub, but never received a call back. My mom now has a new Urologist. Dr. Atef Yacoub you have lost your compassion to care for your patients. Maybe you were upset that we had forced your office to see her before her actual schedule appointment or you just don't care anymore. I don't recommend you and any of your patients need to get a second opinion from a Urologist that's cares. Dr. Yacoub I believe you need a psychological evaluation or its time for you to retire. read more

First, the system was down they couldn't see the referral so I emailed it to Vivian, her reply was the doctor will review referral and schedule an appointment as of August third I am still waiting for an appointment. I went in to the office today..... Dr. Yacoub tells me that I'm fine.. telling me that the other doctors I seen (6 other drs I might add) were liars and im wasting his time. I haven't peed in 10 days... how the heck is that fine.... hes got no compassion for patients. So I called my primary doctor.... she said im most definitely not fine and need to go into an emergency room..... hopefully I get a better more caring urologist next time... but needless to say I will refuse to go back to Dr yacoub. read more
