Our group of 7 did the Raven's Eye room and we had a really great time! The game master was a genuinely nice guy and we were happy to hear that we were supporting a family business. Such a fun thing to do while visiting Anchorage! We had been wanting to try this at home in Los Angeles but hadn't made the time. This was the perfect place to pop in for a fast flying hour of fun with the added benefit of getting warm and inside from the rain for a bit! The puzzles are fun and challenging. We were paired with another family of five so together we had a lot of diverse thinkers! Well thought out escape room with only one "Are you kidding me?" moment that required a hint. The puzzles were not super-hard but were fun due to the multiple modalities used. All of the puzzles were of the "find the combination to this lock" type (or find a key to a lock) but the methods of getting the right combinations were interesting. Only complaint: the official address of this place may be on 5th Ave but the entrance is not! It is a tiny door on the West side of G St. North of 5th Ave. We wasted 10 minutes looking for the door to this place. Wouldn't hurt to put the access information on the web site! read more

We had such a great time at Alaska Escape Rooms! The staff were super friendly and enthusiastic about their business. They were also very welcoming to us tourists and gave us recommendations for restaurants in Anchorage. I've been to many escape rooms all around the country and this one was truly one of the best. The best one hour you could spend while visiting Anchorage. This was our first escape room experience. And now we are gonna explore the other escape rooms out there. We were a group of 4 and all 4 of us enjoyed this thoroughly. It was a well thought-out puzzle. We visited this escape room as a family (our kids are 10, 9 & 8). Graeme and Ron met us and walked us through the puzzle and were so good to set the plot at a level appropriate for our kids. Our family had a great time working together and at the end Graeme and Rob took the time to talk with us and were super personable. We have done quite a few escape rooms and this was by far one of our favorites! We will be back to try another we visit Alaska again. For all the escape room nerds, this is definitely a place you want to check out. There's metered street parking right in front of the door that isn't much at all. We were greeted and helped by Morgan. He was very professional, polite, and generous! His positive energy and helpfulness made the experience that much more fun. We worked through Conjured Kingdom and it is a gorgeous setup. Each room is filled with extreme artistic dedication, beautiful displays and attention to fine storytelling. The puzzles are challenging and if you have a strong 4 person group, you'll definitely be able to pass this quest. The only con would be some puzzles are more sensitive than others and require precise execution. Morgan came to us to help with hints without really telling you the answer. This place has the quality of LA escape rooms and it was such a great experience. read more

This is so much fun! Graeme and his staff are so nice and made the experience very enjoyable. My daughter celebrated her 13th birthday here and everyone had a great time. The VR experience is a great compliment to the escape room. They had a party room and supplied the pizza and drinks, we just showed up with a cake. I was visiting from Seattle and was hoping to find an activity fit for my parents and I. I've been to 10+ escape rooms and this one was by far one of the most fun and creative. The staff was extremely generous and friendly. They even showed us their new virtual reality suite and let us try a few demos. We loved it so much that we booked a session for the same weekend. During the virtual reality session you can have as many as 5 people per VR setup. Each setup is 60$ for 1 hour. We opted to rent out both of the spaces for the 4 of us to give each of us ample game time. During the session we were able to pick and choose our games. Some of them were multiplayer so we were able to interact with each other in the game. It was a great experience and we ended up buying gift certificates as Christmas presents. We just went here the other night with family (because what is better than spending quality time with family in a confined space under the stress of solving problems in a restricted amount of time). The escape rooms are downstairs in the basement, which adds a nice bit of ominous atmosphere. The proprietor, Graeme, was welcoming and friendly. If you have done an escape room before, then you would be familiar with the rules. The room puzzles were nice and complex, requiring us to use our 3 staff assisted clues to be able to escape. The room had a nice twist on how the end played out based on choices we made and puzzles we solved; kinda "Choose your own adventure"-esque. Pumped up after our escape we jumped into their Virtual Arcade, taking turns playing various games for another hour. All-in-all a great place with nice people. I will come back next time in town. We had the place to ourselves on a Monday night. Morgan was sitting at the front desk and provided a thorough and animated explanation of the room set up. The room was actually a series of rooms with two story lines that kept all 4 of us constantly moving. The Alaska Escape Rooms is an absolute blast. The staff is very passionate about what they do and it shows. The puzzles that you're tasked to figure out are brilliantly challenging which makes this a rewarding and memorable experience. Being in Anchorage in November limits the activities that you can do out in nature so we were happy to discover Alaska Escape Rooms as it was my favorite part of our entire trip. Very friendly and Enthusiastic staff. My 1st time participating in an escape room. I was able to catch on quick and the rooms provided a difficult but fair and fun challenge. Unfortunately we busted on our hour to escape but we're allowed to get an extra few minutes to finish the game. The staff also helped when we were stuck but stuck to their role and tried to just give slight hints without giving away the whole answer. Would recommend again! Fun with a group of about 6-8 people. We've done a few escape rooms before although this is the first we didn't beat in the allotted time (we were so close though). Things that stood out to me were having multiple objectives, video playing in background increasing tension, and good range of challenges. Wow what a set of well thought out puzzles! This room, Raven's Eye, is a challenging and fun experience. We are from Southern California and we have done over 25 rooms now and I have to say Alaska Escape Rooms stepped up their game and totally thought outside the box for this room. The in room mechanics are well done but not too intimidating and the puzzles are not 100% linear so there is something to do for everyone in the group. I am jealous of native Alaskans because I won't be here to see what else these guys will have up their sleeves. Just visiting from Indiana, the man running the escape room was nice and very helpful, the people before had left the rooms in bad condition when they were fully operable, even though we could get through with no issues he offered a discount price. The story was extremely creative never seen anything like it. I have done many escape rooms and this one was by far my favorite, I can't wait to come back and try the new room someday. I consider us avid escape room doers. I have done multiple in multiple states including the other 2 in Anchorage. If you like combination locks then you would love this one. There is probably 11 that we counted. We had 4 people in our group and it would have been very crowded with more. There are 4 rooms you have to work through and rooms 1, 2 & 4 are very tiny (smaller than my bathroom). In room 3 you can work on different parts at the same time but in all the other rooms the puzzles have to go in order. If you have more people then you will probably have a lot of people standing around. There are a few cool gadgets/mechanics but otherwise it is just locks locks locks. It's very hot in the rooms so dress lightly (there are a couple of fans in subsequent rooms but I was still hot). I loved spending time with my family so that was was a success. read more

Highly recommend! Stop thinking about trying it and just do it! We did the Raven's Eye game yesterday for my husband's birthday. Group of 6 - 4 adults, 11 year old, and 14 year old. We didn't know what to expect as this was our first escape room, and they set the bar pretty high! These guys have it all figured out...multiple rooms, story line, a wide variety of clues and puzzles to keep you guessing. From beginning to end we were fully immersed, entertained, and challenged. The game was very difficult at times but not impossible, and they give you clues when you are absolutely stumped. Oh so much fun! The guys there (both on the phone and in person) are super professional, friendly, and down-to-earth, putting us all at ease and making the experience enjoyable for all. After we left, we couldn't stop talking about how fun it was and continued to analyze the clues and re-live the whole experience. We can't wait for their new game - we will be back for more! read more
