The Physical Therapy Place came highly recommended and luckily was in network for my insurance so I called to make an appointment. Located in an office building at the corner of 42nd and Laurel in the medical / university district, my first appointment involved arriving early and filling out the necessary background paperwork. I then met with Corina Carlson, PT, DPT who gave me my strength and flexibility assessment and discussed my medical background with me. Given I had been dealing with other health issues for the year prior, let's just say there were quite a few limitations. And my strength was next to nil. That didn't dissuade Corina however. We spent part of the 45 minute session working through 3 different exercises at the end of which I was given printouts and shown how to adapt them to home use as needed. Of course each session came with "homework." Which I diligently did almost every evening. We decided on a course of coming in once a week over a period of two months at which time everything would be reassessed. However often due to my work schedule some of those weekly schedules turned into bi-weekly. Which Corina would gently tease me about. Corina has a great personality and was very easy to work with. It was obvious from our first meeting she has her patients best interest at heart. The office is rather small and only consists of 2-3 physical therapists. But the office staff was friendly and insurance was billed promptly. Appointments were fairly easy to make. All in all this was my first bout of physical therapy and I was released for home care at the end of December when my knee started to show improvement. In the event I ever need PT again, I would definitely return to The Physical Therapy Place. And would whole heartedly recommend it to others.

I have been treated at United PT for two different injuries. For my first injury, a broken ankle, I…read moresaw Alec. He got me walking pain free after a few weeks. I have not had any issues with this ankle. My second injury was more complicated. I had a torn hip labrum and torn glutes as well as plantar fasciitis. I again saw Alec for the plantar fasciitis. One visit with soft tissue work and a home stretching routine healed this in four weeks. For my hip issues I saw Alec, Brian and Helen. They worked on my pain and strength. Brian was amazing in getting my torn labrum back in place with it became painful. Helen does overall therapy but also does shock wave treatments. These helped relive my pain. Recognizing that I was also dealing with pain from overcompensation all of these PTs worked on my entire torso to reduce my pain and increase flexibility. I highly recommend United PT

Today I saw Dr Eric Moore, oops lol. Let's just say he was not appreciative of my many questions. I felt he was a bit dismissive, rushed and perhaps rude. To be fair, some of my questions were questions he said he didn't want to answer, like how many of these procedures do you usually do, and what is your success rate. Looking at his profile, I can understand how he may have taken this as a challenge. I see how this may have come across as rude on my part, seeing that he is relatively young in the field.

She's great at explaining to me what's going on every step of the way. I fractured a shoulder and a wrist back in May and she has made this painful and complex process simple and comfortable. Why not 5 stars? The company that handles the X-rays in here is unethnical. They'll send you to collections over the drop of a hat. I had a bill for like $30 that I wasn't aware of....it was about 16 days old and I got a letter from collections about it. They have since apologized and corrected the issue but...Ih have many more X-ray's and CT's in my future, so I won't up the rating until I get through all of those without additional nasty-grams from collections.

She was dismissive and rude. I had told her my primary insurance is Medicare. Just because I am not of age, she shook her head at me and said NO ITS NOT. And insisted that my primary was my spouses insurance. Again, I said no it's Medicare because I have ESRD and it has been since February 2023. She proceeded to dismiss what I say and insisted it's my secondary. Lisa lacked empathy and customer service. I have been through this for over 6 years with my ESRD, I have been to several clinics, I have never encountered anyone at the front desk like Lisa. I told her I would make a phone call, she immediately left her desk and did not come back. Lisa needs to do better and treat patients with empathy

I visited OPA Therapy Services -South for the first time several months ago . I saw Matthew Crowe, DPT . He is excellent . I was told by a Doc at OPA that I no longer have a rotator cuff in my right shoulder. I love to play tennis and pickleball and I'm not a candidate for a shoulder replacement . The doctor recommended physical therapy and referred me to OPA PT-South . I was very fortunate to be seen by Matthew Crowe, DPT . Even though I'm older he took my desire to keep playing seriously .We started on a program to help me gain strength and stamina and flexibility . Matt does a wonderful job of explaining what I should do, he is very attentive and knowledgeable and pushes me just enough to move me towards making progress . The pain in my shoulder is decreasing as I get stronger and stronger . Matt is rated as a patient favorite in Health grades . Parking is easy . The front desk does an excellent job of welcoming me and making sure I know when my next appointment is . I have never had to wait for my appointment to begin . I was referred here for physical therapy, but I only saw an actual physical therapist at my intake…read moreappointment and again for an evaluation about 10 weeks later. The rest of my appointments were with an assistant. I can't say the treatment was completely worthless, but I also didn't learn anything that I couldn't have gotten from a basic YouTube video. About 10 minutes of each appointment consisted of me riding a recumbent bike, usually while chatting. I was also encouraged to use an app to view my exercises and track them on my phone. I used it a few times, only to later discover there was an additional charge of nearly $20 that had never been explained to me. I disputed the charge and did not pay it. Overall, I expected more direct involvement from a physical therapist and more value from the appointments than I received.
