I had to pay twice because the doctor wouldn't listen to me. They had my insurance but didn't bill it and instead the bill went to collections and it is still a fight over a year later. Honestly the worst hospital experiences I have ever had. I had an ovarian cyst right after having an appendectomy and was experiencing a lot of pain due to it. What I didn't realize was that it was rupturing while I was in Fairbanks. I was on oral prescription pain medication but it did not completely control the pain and my nausea kept me from keeping it down. As the pain got worse the nausea got worse and I could not keep any medicine down. I went to the ER where they gave me zofran and had me take the pain medicine orally then made me leave. I told the doctor that zofran did not work for me (after 4 previous trips to ER due to nausea and vomiting) but he ignored me and said it will work. He ignored me, gave me nothing to go home with, and basically said you have meds so you can deal with it. He also would not help with the nausea or pain until I got an ultrasound for the cyst I already knew I had. So I had to go to the ultrasound room crying, throwing up, and in pain. I went home and kept throwing up and the pain came back just as bad because I could not keep the pain medicine down. I threw up everything including water. So I had to go back to the ER. The nurse and doctor were different and both nicer the second time. The doctor listened to me and gave me a different anti nausea medication through a shot and IV pain medication. It worked significantly better and the pain was lessened. I was still in pain but not to the point of throwing everything up. He gave me a prescription for the anti nausea meds that actually worked. While I was still crying in pain, it was more manageable. I asked if there was anything they could do and the doctor told me not until my surgery to remove the cyst which was two weeks later. Now it is over a year later and I am still struggling with billing. Both from the hospital and the physician. The hospital did not send the physician's office my insurance information and as a result the bill went to claims. The hospital billing department was never even remotely helpful. Regardless of the community in Fairbanks, my experiences here have been so bad that I refuse to live here once I graduate because it is the only hospital available.

Nasty nasty staff. I've lived in Fairbanks almost all my life and I'm 58. Very prejudgemental and…read morenasty every single time. EVERY time. I've been in the hospitals in Anchorage (both AK Regional and Providence) and it was a world of difference. Extremely kind and respectful staff. I think if I can't go somewhere else I'll just die.

If you want to get scammed come here. I was in the lobby for almost 3 hours while someone with mono…read moredesperately needed help. All the staff was in the office joking around and gossiping about what ever. I finally got in there and had my vitals checked. The doctor insited an x-ray but I didn't want too I only wanted some blood work. The doctor told me she couldn't do anything for me. So I felt uncomfortable and decided not to proceed. As I was walking out I asked if I owed anything to 4 different women. They all confirmed I didn't owe anything because no services where rendered. 4 months later I get a bill for $274. I called. Lady confirmed nothing was done. So they charged me for just walking in the door. On top of that the nurse didn't change out the ear checker. Just put it directly in my ear. Gross. They took too long for the man with mono. There were only 3 of us in the lobby the whole time. Why did it take so long? Dont go here. It's easier than going to the fmh but it is actually worse. Do not go here.

We had to pay upfront before even being able to be seen, which undoubtedly was a mistake. Then…read morefinally was able to see the PA and all she did was ask us a couple questions and then send us to the ER. We said we did not want to do that and wanted antibiotics multiple times. She insisted that it was most likely a very serious problem and needed to probably go into surgery for it. We went to the ER, spent hours there as well just to be prescribed antibiotics and a huge bill. She should have respected our wishes, but she did not and she failed as a medical provider. Highly, highly, highly, don't recommend going here if you can help it. Also, after we called to get our money back since they literally didn't do ANYTHING for us, they said they couldn't because we saw the PA lady... all they care about is making money, not helping people that are sick and in need of help.

I found excellent care here and have been treated with respect throughout my visits. Checking in…read moreand out is efficient, the wait to be seen is never too long, and the instructions/notes from the visit are available online anytime. They accept insurance, Medicaid, and have a sliding fee scale to try and accommodate everyone. They provide medical care, mental health care, and dental care; though I'm not sure the full extent of their services. This place is an asset for Fairbanks. I noticed the Yelp reviews were mostly older, like from 6 years ago, so I wanted to give an accurate picture of what you can expect in 2026. I have had zero issues with them and am glad to have found providers who care and listen.

I will say, from a 'mother's' perspective it was very well ran and administered, by each staff member we encountered. The information that was given and options and resources available to a patient was very well laid out and dispensed. Each staff member executed their roles very professionally and concise. CHECK-IN: Receptionist/Cashier/Appointment Clerk was very knowledgeable, even though she indicated that she was new and still learning. She was friendly and effective in helping direct and fill out all the forms needed (proof of income, understanding the income/payment scale, what to expect for the next step in our visit at the clinic) VITALS/CHECK-IN CARE: Staff member was very friendly and asked a lot of questions, for information relating to health/visit to the clinic that day. She did not push/pressure for information, but did want to collect as many details needed to best serve the patient. She was very knowledgeable about resources and options and making sure the patient didn't miss every opportunity available to them, both for today's visit and future visits. PHYSICIANS ASSISTANT: Very concise, again. Asking the patient for detailed information, and stayed on task to the actual visit needs, while inviting the patient with the options for future visits. She displayed a high value of patient privacy and comfort. She explained each step of the exam in detail. She also offered explanations when it was apparent they would be appreciated. She preformed her role very very well. CASE MANAGER: A case manager was made available to offer information on many resources available to patients. She was also extremely friendly and non-invasive, even on such vulnerable and transparent topics. She gave a professional sense of discretion and a genuine care to the needs of the patient. Overall, it was a very positive and informative visit, and I am glad to know how well the clinic serves the community.
