Secondly they will try to get their money any way they can! so they agreed to an adjustment on my bill, but then what they agree to remove, they put back in on the next line! So the bill never changed! So TVC why are you allowing people like this to abuse and cheat and steal from your patients? Why don't you check out the people you contract out to see if they feel the same about your patients? or do you really not care about us!

Saw the Tvc surgeon/Dr. Flowers, she ordered an US guided injection. I ended up leaving the procedure which took me to schedule because they never called me to schedule this procedure, after the procedure I had blood in my urine and I called the surgeon next day as was continued concerning issue. No return call. It's been over a month and now still no return calls on testing or follow up appointments or just a call after report of concerning blood in urine regarding the procedure. Very upset as this has been delay of care, no follow up, and safety concerns due to possible harm to me as no follow up!!!!! I now have to see another surgeon and more imaging. Very unsatisfied. Terrible patient care.

(Why didn't this receptionist simply offer to call me when the Medicare approval was on board? I called two times within one month and scheduled an appointment when I learned they COULD accept Medicare patients. At the appointment Dr. Martell told me he could do my surgery procedure. I called after I had a mammogram per his request. I called to ask if the mammogram images had been received because I hadn't heard from any of the doctor's staff. I was told that they couldn't schedule surgery yet BECAUSE THEY HAD NOT YET BEEN APPROVED FOR MEDICARE. I asked a staff member that I was told that they had been approved for Medicare patients. The staff member said that she didn't know why I was told this. Then she told me that it "might be a month or so" for Medicare approval for their office. One month later I called. No medicare approval yet. Same staff member told me that I was "at the top of their list." Another three weeks went by. Then I received a call from the same woman who told me that they could see Medicare patients. After the red flags regarding the honesty and competency of both physician and staff, I chose to go elsewhere. I have decades of experience working in healthcare clinics and I'd never experienced such a duplicitous and scheming medical practice. I'd add that during my examination, Dr. Martell presented with a smug and dishonest attitude. I encourage people to leek at Alaska Med Grades to read the complaints from two women who went under Dr. Martell's knife. One was horrifically disfigured and the other got a serious infection which resulted in five days in a hospital for IV treatment. Here are those reviews: October 21, 2021 Please do not see this doctor for anything. Had breast cancer and double mastectomy, I now have one fake boob resting in my armpit and the other side burst out completely along scar. Please please save yourself from this kind of pure tourcher. Jan 22, 2018 Did not do the surgery he initially discussed with me and failed to address my concerns of an infection which resulted in a 5 day hospitalization and over 30 days of IV antibiotics. Was very cold and dismissive when I brought up these concerns. Civilian surgeons and infectious disease doctors were shocked that my ankle had been allowed to get in that state.

Having said that and knowing the physician has had a couple decades of giving injections you would think he would want to give the best service to his clients. He did not do this for me on my fourth injection and it resulted in my claim being denied and this physician not doing his job to help make sure I was not going to be put into a financial position that I could not pay out of my pocket. This physician did not follow up to my insurance companies and I have records to show that the physician office did not follow up on their due diligence which left me with a bill for almost $2000.00. I am now being told that the bill was turned over to a collection agency. I had 3 injection that were approved and I had met with the physician one week prior to all 4 injections to discuss the procedure. Having not ever had this type of procedure I left it to the physician to make sure all necessary paperwork was completed and they failed to provide me with great service. This phy knew I was in pain and knew I had never had injections and still he failed to make sure that the injections while costly would be covered by insurance. I find this unacceptable from a professional who has billed numerous insurance companies over the decades to make sure his patients would be covered by their insurance and if not would inform them prior to the procedure that their insurance would not authorize the procedure. I caution anyone wanting to use this company for services. I was also wary at the first appointment when I had to pay $1500.00 to make an appointment. Having the pain I was in at the time I consented to agree to pay this up front money and in retrospect if I ever come across a physician that requires a down payment I will not use their services.I had to give one star for an evaluation but if given the option I would give zero stars.I will avoid this physician in the future and recommend this physician to no person

Heck, he was even singing each time he came into the procedure room! Unfortunately, he left to a job out of State. I started seeing Dr Zipperer and he never remembered my name and was only interested in numbing nerves and RFAs. I went to see a surgeon to see if there was a potential fix. The surgeon was the first doctor to look at an MRI I had done on my entire spine and show it to me and explain what I was looking at. Every vertebrae is fractured and looks like a squished marshmallow. The surgeon said "no more nerve burning" the pain isn't about nerves, it's bone pain. I went in to my next appointment with Dr Zipperer and told him about the appointment with the surgeon. He didn't want to hear it. I asked about trigger point injections but, again, he didn't want to hear it or talk about it. He said I didn't trust him anymore and dropped me as a patient. As far as trust goes, I went in for a pre-RFA procedure on my neck and the first needle went in to the wrong side of my neck. I had to, loudly, ask which side we were working on. Dr Boomgaard has also left ZMG and now works for the pain clinic I currently go to. He's been more attentive since working with the clinic he's currently at.

I called ahead to the main clinic and was told they had no available appointments before two weeks but could go to their extended office, 1st Care. Upon arrival I completed the required paperwork and provided my insurance card and identification. The woman then told me that I had to pay $260 toward my deductible but I was sure this was incorrect so I asked her to verify. She agreed to contact the business office and though she didn't say anything about a deductible to them, she claimed they told her I had to pay the same thing. I wasn't comfortable paying this amount so I left and called my insurance company who confirmed o should only have to pay a $30 copay. I went back to the counter but the first woman I spoke with wasn't there so another lady called me back. I had the insurance company on the phone and explained to the staff person what happened. She refused to talk to the insurance company and instead directed me to the business office across the street. In the snow. I asked her to confirm someone was available and she was not helpful at all. The fact that patients are sick didn't seem to matter about sending them back and forth in the snow when picking up the phone could have resolved the issue. Longer story shorter, I went to the business office and was taken care of in 5 minutes. The only reason why I didn't rate a 1 is because the senior manager was so kind and apologetic and really personable. After the fact, the next person I spoke with was efficient at getting me checked in and every other staff person including the doctor was super kind and helpful. Hopefully this experience was an anomaly but I'll try again if I need care just to be sure.

They bill insurance as an ordinary provider rather than as an 'Urgent Care' facility resulting in much higher co-pays ($150) due to the services rendered rather than the flat co-pay ($35) regardless of services rendered for an 'Urgent Care' facility visit. An Emergency Room visit co-pay would have been cheaper.
