All the staff was in the office joking around and gossiping about what ever. I finally got in there and had my vitals checked. The doctor insited an x-ray but I didn't want too I only wanted some blood work. The doctor told me she couldn't do anything for me. So I felt uncomfortable and decided not to proceed. As I was walking out I asked if I owed anything to 4 different women. They all confirmed I didn't owe anything because no services where rendered. 4 months later I get a bill for $274. I called. Lady confirmed nothing was done. So they charged me for just walking in the door. On top of that the nurse didn't change out the ear checker. Just put it directly in my ear. Gross. They took too long for the man with mono. There were only 3 of us in the lobby the whole time. Why did it take so long? Dont go here. It's easier than going to the fmh but it is actually worse. We had to pay upfront before even being able to be seen, which undoubtedly was a mistake. Then finally was able to see the PA and all she did was ask us a couple questions and then send us to the ER. We said we did not want to do that and wanted antibiotics multiple times. She insisted that it was most likely a very serious problem and needed to probably go into surgery for it. We went to the ER, spent hours there as well just to be prescribed antibiotics and a huge bill. She should have respected our wishes, but she did not and she failed as a medical provider. Highly, highly, highly, don't recommend going here if you can help it. Also, after we called to get our money back since they literally didn't do ANYTHING for us, they said they couldn't because we saw the PA lady... all they care about is making money, not helping people that are sick and in need of help. read more

I needed to find an urgent care in Fairbanks to see me for a minor medical issue that needed immediate attention but did not require the services of the ER when I first made contact with Steese Immediate Care. Right away the receptionist on the phone was not only curious but extremely competent. She made sure that I could be seen in a timely fashion (1 hour from the time I called) and most importantly, that my insurance and co-pay were in order before I arrived. I was able to know exactly how much my visit would cost before I even drove over. Parking is ample and the lobby is clean and comfortable. I was seen promptly only a few minutes after I tuned in the required check-in paperwork. The nurse who checked me in was friendly and again, competent. After she had finished with the basics, less than a minute had gone by before the provider was knocking on the door. I was seen by Dr. Katie Steer (she is technically a PA but I feel that she has earned the right to be called "Doctor" as my experience with her will show). She immediately put me at ease. She is down to earth, thoughtful, thorough, and even humble. She strikes me as very people centered and holistic in her approach to healthcare. My impression is that she genuinely cares how her patients are feeling. She seems willing to learn from them and doesn't strike me as the sort to act like she's the expert and therefore what you say and feel has no validity. That is a rare quality in a medical professional. Obviously, I was delighted to learn that Steese Immediate Care offers full primary care for men and women's health. I have needed to establish care with a primary for over a year and I was so taken with the care that I received from the staff and impressed with the immediate connection I felt with Dr. Steer that I have decided to establish full primary care with them. They offer EVERYTHING that I need at one location. The care I have received in the past at TVC felt more like fulfilling a chore or jumping through hoops. It always felt like I was fighting to be seen in a timely manner when I had an issue come up that required a doctor's help. What's the point in having a primary if you have to go to an urgent care anyway for a bad cold or a UTI because your doctor doesn't have an available appointment for 3 whole weeks? At Steese Immediate Care I felt like I was SEEN, cared for, heard, and validated. It was easy, adorable, and timely. Night and day to say the least. I will be recommending Steese Immediate Care to anyone in need of timely medical attention during a semi-emergency AND for anyone wanting to establish regular healthcare with a smaller clinic that is not only competent but easily accessible, has greater availability, and has providers of better quality than I have found in other larger clinics Fairbanks. read more

Unfortunately, even though the PA was great, as were all of the people in back when I finally got there, I won't be going to this clinic again. Despite making an appointment ahead of time I was sitting in the waiting room for over an hour while an endless stream of people were taken back for covid travel tests. Don't get me wrong, if someone is having covid symptoms, by all means take care of them, but don't leave a person who believes they may have strep throat sitting in the waiting room long past their appointment time while clearing people for travel, or at the very least communicate that there will be a wait because of it. read more

Took 2.5 hours to see provider for blood draw and medicine. Found out that they did not prescribe the correct medicine. 5 days later I called for lab results but they would not provide them, so I went to the clinic. They again denied me access to my medical records. Ridiculous. read more

Worst care facility in Fairbanks... They will burn up your entire deductible just to see a doctor... And you will not see a doctor or an actual doctor you will see a primary care physician a PA... Some of them are not very friendly and quite nasty....they will actually block you from calling in a refill for your blood pressure medication... So they can overcharge you to be seen by a doctor that's not a doctor that's a PA... read more

I've switched to Steese Immediate Care for my primary care. Unlike TVC, I can call and reliably get an appointment within the next two days for normal appointments, and get in same day for more urgent things. I've never felt rushed, and the Docs have always taken the time to ask if I have any questions, answer any questions I might have, and even research questions I have that they cannot answer immediately. I've been nothing but pleased with them. Prior to switching to them as my primary, I've used their walk-in immediate care services; I've never had to wait more than 1/2 hour to be seen. read more

Awful! I've been three times and every time was awful. The last time was the final time. Said they couldn't treat my son and needed to take him to a pediatrician. I disagreed with the PA. I then took my son to a different clinic where he was treated right away without any issues. Half my day was wasted because of them. I've been three times and they did nothing but talk. Three visits and I had to fill out the same paper work three times. When they lost my forms they had the nerve to ask me if I took them home by accident. Blame me for their mistake? Could not even get a simple prescription for vitamin D right. Got the dosage wrong twice. They didn't notice, the pharmacist at Fred Meyer called them to let them know, but they ignored it and I had to tell them. They referred me to Dr. Teslo. He is the owner but his office is a different company and doesn't take the same insurance. Nobody told me, I had to call my insurance company to find out this secret. Even though Dr. Teslo is in the same building and owns Steese Immediate Care, the two business's don't communicate well with each other. Money down the drain. And I still hurt. read more

I was seen after an injury at work where my work brought me in. They did not do the appropriate paperwork to prevent from making my work file a workman's comp claim then when issues arose and I asked for a copy of the doctors reports they had to edit the report immediately because they had told me not to go into work but they put the wrong information on the report. I would never go again. read more

While it is called "Immediate" care, it is far from being immediate. My doctor called them to verify if they were able to do two blood tests that I needed. After they verified that the blood tests could be done there, I went there, but then I was made to wait for 1 hour. When I asked the reason for the wait, the assistant told me that they were figuring out if they were able to do the blood tests - what! If they were not sure of doing the blood tests, why did they previously confirm it on the phone? So after waiting for like an hour (and the place was literally empty), I realized that my time was being wasted, and I left. The staff was very incompetent, and some staff members were not kind enough. The manager was kind, though. She wanted to talk to me one last time, probably to apologize, but by that time, I had already wasted an hour and lost my trust in them, so I left. read more

I don't normally write reviews. However, the staff at Steese Immediate care were so thoughtful and kind I just had to do this. My son injured himself wrestling around with friends, so we went to Steese Immediate Care and they were so quick and efficient! There was NO WAIT!!! I've been to the other urgent care place in town and had to wait hours. The nurse practitioner that took care of him really knew what she was doing, she got us right in, took an xray then had him in a splint quick and easy! I tell all my friends to go there now. Brought my daughter in because she complained of ear pain (a year before we thought she had a rock in her ear but was told nothing was in there) the provider did a few things to see if we could clear blockage or remove it. She finally said she needed to send us to ENT because she didnt want to attempt to remove what she thought MAY be a rock. ENT removed the rock! If she hadnt been so diligent and knew when to stop poking my daughter could have experienced some seriously tough pain and aggrevation. Very pleased! read more
