After doing xrays, they came back and said I needed a "special cleaning" which added $90 to my bill. I take great care of my teeth and I've never had issues with needing extra care beyond just a regular cleaning at the dentist. I argued with the hygienist, who got the dentist and they refused to give me a regular cleaning. I proceeded with the visit since they'd already done imaging, despite my reservations. The dentist told me I had no cavities, but that I needed a filling in one tooth because they "think I'll get a cavity there eventually". I've never heard of getting a filling in a tooth that doesn't have a cavity in it. I refused the filling. It just felt like cash grab to me and I will not be returning.

However, everyone here was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. I arrived early for my 9:40am appointment. I was brought back closer to 10. The dental hygienist got me started on my x-rays. I was a new patient, so I had to go through a lot of extras. Every step of the way, things were explained to me, why they were doing them and what it cost. I was here for a little while. Extra care was taken to make the process as pain free and smooth as possible. Dr. Leigh Klein, DMD came in after my cleaning to go over things. She too, was friendly, clear and thorough. She offered up small words of encouragement through the process and seemed very matter of fact and frank. She leveled with you and at no point in time, did I think I was being mislead or guided into care or procedures I did not need. They were able to make time for the one small filling that I needed, and that process was smooth too. In the end, I left with a much cleaner and healthier smile and that's something to smile about. I am not on a fixed income but when you're bill in the thousands doubles without notice that is completely unacceptable. Additionally I have always used the recommended insurance from the Dentist. This time was no different, a few weeks later I find out two local dentists who have been practicing for much longer than Dr Gutierrez charge $400 less for each crown. But wait there is more...My wife called to question the teeth cleaning bill prior to the crown replacement since we weren't given an itemized receipt for both our cleanings. Of course they have never given us an itemized receipt for anything, let alone a cleaning, but the bill was $400 instead of the dental plan plus the free cleanings that are usually around $100ish for the two of us. My wife and I are very clear telling our dental techs "we don't want anything extra that isn't covered by the plan they sold us." TO their credit they had us sign a sheet acknowledging this, but magically they lost both our sheets when we asked to see where we signed to authorize an extra $300 in cleaning up charges. Our cleaning should have been the dental plan fee for one year for about $100 and maybe a few dollars more... After my wife brought this to the office manager's attention she was very clear, we paid, it's our fault and should've disputed it then. To this date they have still not found our authorization letters. I can again attest I will never give this practice money. They have zero concern for customer satisfaction when it comes to them getting their up charges.

The rooms are all open and small so blasting loud music is their solution to having rooms too close and having them all full at the same time for one doctor. The loud music only increased my anxiety and I felt like I had to yell to be heard. The assistant was snippy and insisted the music wasn't too loud for her instead of reassuring me that maybe the service would make up for it. Unfortunately, it did not. She rallied the other assistants who came to get a peek at the old lady who complained about the music being too loud. When the doctor came in he had an attitude as well and it was clear he was defensive about his loud music. Whatever. I felt like I was in a day care with young, immature employees. Was so happy to leave.

I only wanted…read moreto find out the price, and possibly set up some sort of an arrangement where I could prepay before the procedure and after I had paid completely then have the procedure done. I found that the office people that I was dealing with struggled with English, and I had much trouble trying to convey to the person that I was dealing with what it was I was seeking. She insisted that the only way that could be done was to take advantage of their financing. I told her that I really didn't want to finance them but she insisted that was the only way it could be done. I left the office without signing the finance agreement and told the lady as best I could that I needed to think about it. A couple of days later I got a call from the district supervisor for Aspen and he encouraged me to come back in and get the process started. He was very informed and quite friendly. I Returned several days later for x-rays. In all, over the entire process I had four series of x-rays. Two of the procedures were painful. They eventually identified six teeth that needed to be pulled and appointments were made. When I went for my first actual procedure, the extractions, I was dismayed when the dentist told me that they were going to pull four teeth. And I said what about the other teeth? She replied that that's the only ones they had identified. This prompted another series of x-rays and they confirmed that there were six teeth that needed to be extracted. That was a little bit distressing to know that they didn't even know how many teeth they were going to pull. I had requested that I would be given gas , and was informed of the extra $75 charge for that. I agreed to that. However, when the procedure started and the dentist placed the gas mask over my face and told me to inhale, I found that I couldn't pull any air out of the gas mask. I pulled the mass aside to tell her that and she tried to hold the gas mask over my face. Eventually she got the message and her and her assistant made some adjustments to the tank and pressed the gas mask over my face again and it was the same as the first time. There was no air that could be pulled out of the mass no matter how hard I tried to inhale. This happened again then as they struggled with adjusting the tanks and such. But the dentist would press the gas mask hard against my face and I could not get any air. I felt like I was suffocating or being suffocated. They took the gas tanks out of the room and came back later and said they had it fixed. This time. I could pull air out of it after having been suffocated three times, but I could tell that what I was breathing was not anything other than air. The dentist talked entirely during the procedure telling me about her days in college and all of her friends. I guess this was to distract me from the fact that I wasn't being administered gas. The teeth were pulled, impressions were made, and I returned to the office for my initial fitting for the dentures. They were not even close to fitting. They made some adjustments to them in the office and sent me home. A week later I went in for another fitting, this time it was a different dentist. He asked me immediately if I had had a severe overbite when I came in and I told him no. He said that the dentures were not correct and he would remake them. It was the lower dentures that did not fit and after another week I received My dentures. This being my first time with dentures I really did not know what to expect but I really thought that they should fit better. I lived with it. I had to use a lot of denture adhesive to keep them in, and they were prone to coming loose all the time. After having these dentures for a while, the lower dentures actually broke in my mouth with very sharp pointed pieces. I was hesitant to go back to Aspen because of the way I was treated the first time so I went to a different dentist. My insurance paid for the first $1,000 to fix the lower dentures, but that still left me with almost $500. More to pay to have these 1-year-old dentures repaired. I was charged for gas even though I maintain. I never ever got gas. I think their tanks were empty and rather than told me that they didn't have any gas, she just decided to give me Oxygen and proceed with the procedure. I had the impression that the dentist that did this was new. I am sure that Aspen Dental probably has some very good dentist there, however, this was not my experience. I would be fearful to return to Aspen Dental myself. This may not be a big factor but the office had a Christmas tree up and it was almost May. I would not recommend this Aspen Dental in Plant City to anybody else. I am still paying for the dentures that I got at Aspen, and they have broken twice.

This false advertising is posted on all their advertisement. I had already had a consultation in Brandon and another set up in Lutz area but why not another opinion from a dentist 2 miles away and it's free. I'm about to spend $20,000 on my teeth so another opinion matters. I get in the office and the dentist (Hussein) comes in and starts looking in my mouth and tells me they need to take this special 3D x-ray scan in order to give me an accurate recommendation. Oh, and it's $500. I told the dentist I just had a consultation in Brandon and they did a 3D scan and gave me a recommendation and it was free. He proceeded to tell me they have this super advanced machine and he'll be able to see things the other dentists can't and tries talking me into it. He's describing the stuff and i'm telling him, "yeah, that's the same thing they did in Brandon". Finally he says, "Ok, let's do the scan today and i'll only charge you 1/2 today and have the Brandon office send me over the scans and i'll reimburse you. So they take the scan and it's the exact same machine and same procedure I did in Brandon. We set up a follow up appointment to go over the results. So now this "free consultation has cost me $250 with $250 due and I have to make a second appointment??? I call the Brandon office and they tell me, yup it's the same scan. Same machine, everything. So I call Inspired Dentistry of Plant City and tell them to call Brandon Family Implant and Cosmetic Dentistry for copies of the scan and I want me $ back. I go to my follow up appointment and they tell me, sorry it was NOT the same scan and I owe them another $250. I see the doctor and he pulls up a screen and proceeds to show me the EXACT SAME FOOTAGE as they showed me in Brandon. Same imagery, and same decay and same root canals and same sinus line, all the same. Then he gives me a recommendation for the work and he's over $10,000 more than the brandon office with the exact same scope of work . Literally I have their two treatment plans in front of me and they're the same. I argue the $500 scan and they basically tell me, sorry about your luck and you owe us $250. Which I paid. This place is a complete joke. DO NOT GET SUCKERED INTO THEIR FREE CONSULTATION GIMMICK!! I went to my Lutz appointment and they did the same 3D x-ray scan with the same machine, same procedure, and same imagery on the screen-NO CHARGE. They gave me a treatment plan and now with 2 previous treatment plans I was able to ask a ton of questions. They shot so many holes in Dr Hussien's (Inspired Dentistry of Plant City) and showed me on the imagery exactly why implants won't work with certain teeth and a different procedure is necessary. I did some of my own research and i'm going with 3-points family dentistry in Lutz. Plus they were over $10,000 cheaper than Inspired Dentistry. Please do your research and DO NOT PAY FOR THE CONSULTATION X-RAYS!!! Everyone else does the same scan for free. Inspired Dentistry lured me in, talked me into a $500 scan, promised a refund if I had this done elsewhere for free (they lied) and then made me come to an additional appointment because their super hi-tech machine couldn't produce the imagery on the same day. This place is a total joke.

I was explicitly told before my procedure that it was covered by insurance. Naturally, I trusted their information--only to receive a bill later with no payment instructions whatsoever. What followed was three weeks of me calling repeatedly, leaving three separate messages through their call center, each time being told the office itself had to handle it. Not once did anyone return my call. On my fourth attempt, I was routed to someone in billing, only to be met with another voicemail and, again, no response. It wasn't until my fifth call--after insisting the call center stay on the line--that I was finally able to get the balance paid. This was a balance I was originally assured I would not have in the first place. The lack of communication from the actual office was unbelievable. I also requested my records, as I will never return to this practice. The staff turnover is obvious, and the environment feels chaotic and disorganized. The final person I spoke with tried to excuse the total silence from the office by claiming it was a "staffing issue" because several people were out sick--yet somehow not one voicemail could be returned over more than three weeks?
