This Dr. Gibbs Dental office at11426 N 53rd St Terrace Oaks in Temple Terrace is part of the constant fraud that goes on in Florida. The Scarry and Sad part of about it is the people who are either too preoccupied or too stupid to realize that they are being taken for in this dental office. I was a victim. My insurance paid for my treatment in full, 100%. Dr Gibbs claimed that my Insurance only pays a portion that I would need to pay the difference before my procedure. I paid the difference. I looked up my insurance coverage and was covered 100%. He knew all along the fee for my procedure. it was on the Proposal Treatment Plan he gave to me prior to my procedure. He is a scam artist, not a dentist! I reported him to BBB , My dental Insurance and The Florida Office of the Inspector General. I did get a refund only because I altered them to the fact of what they practice. BE AWARE AND WEARY with this dental office. read more

First, let me explain the way is office is run. Simply, smooth and efficient. Nothing else has to be said or desired. I've never had to wait much past my appointment time and it makes the greatest impression on me when a business respects my time. The facilities are clean and staff is friendly, personable without sacrificing any professionalism. Second, I'm not, being constantly being sold on cosmetic surgery that I may or may not need. Suggestions are made and it's left at that. Past dentist offices have had drills in my mouth, selling me on supposed life saving upgrades and expect me to sign papers before I leave the office, when all that I initially showed up for was a teeth cleaning. Third is Ruthie. She works directly under Dr. Gibbs and makes all follow up phone calls herself, with the warmest of concerns. Little things like this matter when making a patient feel as if he just isn't cattle being herded in and out of the door. Finally, there is Doctor Gibbs himself. Great chair side manner and always delivers on the game plan he lays out for you before he starts working on you. If any unforeseen complications come up, he fixes it without hesitation and professionalism. I get the idea that when something doesn't go right in a day, it bothers him when he goes home and wakes up with an undeniable intent to fix it. He's good and I don't want anybody else supervising my dental health. If you don't have a dentist, I recommend him. If your not happy with your dentist, I recommend you give Dr. Gibbs a try. From the front desk staff to the Dentist, everyone I encountered was super helpful in answering all my questions and making sure I was getting the best dental care I've experienced. I had quite the whirlwind with some insurance company issues, but Betty at Terrace Oaks was so patient with my frazzle-need, and called me whenever I needed to get something updated for their records. It was my fault for never having asked my insurance company for an insurance card *whoops* you'd think they mail these, right? Anyways! From the very beginning, as in when I called to schedule my appointment, they notified me of what I was going to be charged, so there were no surprises when I arrived. It took maybe 5-10 minutes to fill out the paperwork when I got there and I swear it was maybe 60 seconds after I submit my paperwork that I was called back. I was told as a new patient I needed two different types of x-rays, having had x-rays several times a year when I was younger due to this and that and whatnot, I was tired of having these, I didn't was exposure to this stuff! (I know, call me a crunchy granola, I embrace it) I really didn't understand the need for this, but the dental assistant, I believe it was Jennifer, really explained why they needed it, and why it was important for my dental health, and guess what?? Minimal exposure compared to way back when! She was so patient and kind about it, I could see any other dentist office personnel getting prickly about my inquisitiveness, so I commend her awesome education and people skills! I rarely had to wait during this entire appointment, and when I did, it was always less than a minute. I'm so glad I found Dr. Gibbs and his team, they're thorough, patient, and provide excellent care. Dr. Gibbs and his staff are truly exceptional. I've never had a better experience at any other dental office. They make you feel welcome and take care of you in a timely matter; I've never waited more than 5 or so minutes in the waiting room. They remember who you are, things you've talked about, and just generally do amazing work. I had a lot of major problems, but they made me feel comfortable and calmed my nerves. (I'm normally terrified of the dentist.) Dr. Gibbs assured me that we would take it step by step and that I would be taken care of. I can gladly say he was so right! I am pain free and now only working on minor issues. Another major thing I've noticed is that I've never heard a single member of the staff say anything negative. I've been to a number of offices where the staff talks to you like you are incompetent on the phone, or makes snide remarks about patients after they leave or hang up. Not here! Dr. Gibbs is an amazing dentist and he always understand the problem of his customers. He has been following me since 2015 and since then he has always been impeccable from any point of view. He always keep in consideration what I have to say every time I go. I, as a professional musician, have certain needs - due to playing for several hours every day around 6-8 I needed a solution that would have helped me to relieve stress from my jaw and avoiding biting more and more while getting tired - because of that some of my teeth changed position, they started not being in line. Dr. Gibbs was able to make a cover for my bottom teeth made of indestructible soft rubber that I had to wear while playing -thick enough to relieve almost totally the stress I kept feeling before, very comfortable feeling and color clear. Just recently, exactly two months ago, we discussed about trying to align my teeth. Best solution was having Invisalign and not bracers(that are too painful to play with). So the transition from soft rubber to plastic wasn't that much . In September after having started wearing Invisalign Dr. Gibbs follows me carefully through the process and I am very satisfied already with the results achieved . Worst dental experience of my life. Four visits to have my molar tooth pulled and not one thing accomplished. My first visit I came in for a broken infected molar and was advised that I had to get a covid test to be seen because I had an ear and jaw ache due to the broken infected tooth, LIKE HELLO. After getting the covid test I came back to be then asked for proof and another covid test but eventually they let that slide. I took an X-ray withDr. Gibbs who I advised I was now pregnant. He prescribed penicillin and told me I could choose to save the tooth with a root canal or get it pulled. I told him I just want the tooth pulled as soon as possible but he kept trying to talk me into a root canal. I said no then he sent me to a specialist with referral which at the time I thought it was bc I had a complicated tooth removal. The first specialist said they didn't accept my insurance so I cal from Gibbs and he sent me to a friend of his who tried to bill me 1500 for a root canal after I repeatedly said I did not want one. I then try to go back to dr Gibbs who now is asking for approval from my Obgyn to pull my tooth. I get the approval from my obgyn then schedule my appointment again with dr Gibbs then received an email that he canceled my appointment and referred me to the same specialist for a root canal. I was at my last straw so I email back stating I will not get a root canal and am tired of being given the run around this is over 6 months of me trying to get this tooth pulled. Dr Gibbs emails back claiming I wanted to save the tooth and when I explained how many times him and I been through this rodeo he sends me a partial picture of my X-ray and a referral to a specialist and wishes me best of luck. This man is Incompetent, unprofessional, an insurance scammer and money hungry. Do not go here unless you want to be scammed out of thousands and forced to take on expensive procedures you do not want bc if you choose not to pay for unneeded procedures he will not do your procedure,. I have great insurance but yet he would only send me to specialist who wanted unreasonable amounts of money for procedures you repeatedly express you don't want especially for at risk pregnancy patients read more

Had a great experience! I was initially referred to this office by a friend for a second opinion because I was uncomfortable at another dental office when they tried to "sell" me Invisalign and said I had multiple cavities that needed fillings. After consultation with Dr. Gibbs, I was extremely shocked to find out that no such cavities existed! There are a lot of shady dentist out there trying to scam their patient's money. I'm lucky enough to find Dr. Gibbs, a dentist that I can trust for all my dental needs. I was transferred to Dr. Gibbs and his staff from the previous dentist that was in that office in Temple Terrace. I was due for a cleaning and thought I'd give them a chance and see how we "clicked". Everyone, from the front desk staff to Sherry and Dr. Gibbs were a pleasure. Sherry, the dental hygienist, was informative and had a gentle hand as she cleaned my sensitive teeth. I dread the dentist. I am a rational, sane person who has lost her mind when it comes to going to the dentist. It's been more than 10 years since I've been. (I know - eww.) But a few bad experiences left me totally traumatized and it's been an exercise in zen getting me back in a chair. (Xanax helps, too, but I digress.) But I'm in my 30's now, a homeowner, and figured it was time to put on my big girl panties and take care of my mouth. So I Googled. I found Dr. Gibbs online and liked the sound of "non-invasive" techniques and a more holistic approach. I read the reviews here, and made the appointment. I almost cancelled it 3 times. But today, I had the most pleasant experience at the dentist I have ever had. I arrived 15 minutes early but they took me in immediately. The staff kept me waiting no longer than 3 minutes at any given interval, and that included Dr. Gibbs. In private rooms rather than wide open embarrassing spaces, I was educated, but not shamed, about the condition of my mouth. (Turns out, I'm kind of a wunderkind toothbrusher who has no cavities.) And, with no pressure whatsoever, I was told my options and provided with the costs given my insurance. I was in the chair for about 1.5 hours altogether and enjoyed virtually every minute of it, especially meeting the very kind staff. Angie who's at the front desk remembered things about me from when I booked the appointment - 3 months ago! Ruthie was my intake specialist and x-ray tech and she was fast and super sweet. Danielle was my hygienist and was a dear - loaded me up with numbing gel and didn't torture me even a little. And Dr. Gibbs was a kind, smart, and no-BS kind of guy. He earned my trust in a matter of minutes - and I'm a tough sell. He limited my expenses and suggested the least invasive approach as a first step. He even checked on me after the cleaning to see how I felt. I have a follow up in 4 months, and (can't believe I'm typing this) I'm actually looking forward to it. Thanks to everyone at Terrace Oaks!
