We rented this venue for my daughters wedding for today. The venue is an awesome two-story plantation style home which also has a pond (with ducks, as well) and an area under the large oak trees. The reason I only gave it 2 stars was because of the owners of the place. They had run-ins with several of our guests, mostly about parking. AND WE DID NOT EVEN HAVE ALCOHOL at the reception. Anyway, if you can overlook their rude, crude and socially unacceptable attitudes, you have a great place for a wedding. Found out after getting home and looking at posted pics, that THEIR photographer and videographer photo-bombed a lot of pics. Didn't like that either. The following Tuesday we find out that NUMEROUS handicapped elderly people were told they could not park by the venue to let them out, that they had to walk a LONG way up the driveway. Pretty sad. read more

It looks like a large fishing camp on the outside. It's raised and sits over a large pond. The ceremony was performed on a deck overlooking the pond, which was sweet, but it was very warm. I was in a dress and heels, my husband was in a suit and tie and we were sweating. It was only 75 degrees, but there was no breeze and bugs were buzzing. Once the ceremony was over, we were ushered to the inside of the structure. It looked like a barn. Big open space, lots of wood. There was a bar and his and hers restrooms. That's about all there was to it. The main ladies room doors were swinging doors! Give me a door knob please!!! Also, the stall doors had those hooks that latch into the loop thingy. I haven't seen those things in years. It didn't feel quite private enough. These are restrooms people! The AC inside was blowing like a hurricane in a few spots in the room. There were spots where no one sat because it was just too cold and uncomfortable. I don't know if the venue provides food or not, but for this wedding, the bride's family took care of the food. After we ate, no one came by to pick up our plates. I had to walk around to find a garbage can near the bar because there were no others that I found. The parking area is the grass out front. We parked on the grass with everyone else and then walked in rocks to get to the building. Our shoes were muddy and scraped. I thought that the pond was nice, and the barn look was ok if that's what you are looking for, but this was too out of the way to have so many issues. We drove for a little over an hour to sweat, bus our own tables, scratch up our shoes and feel uncomfortable using the restrooms.

They now charge a $250.00 incidental deposit which is something I've never been charged as a deposit and I stay at hotels at least 5-10 nights a month. The hotel does not provide the elite members with waters as IHG members would normally be provided upon arrival. They do not have shampoo or conditioner in the rooms for guest stay. I was told it's hotel policy and also due to covid. Amite, LA is not a town I would say is a desired place to visit at all and this hotel and their management acts as though it's a beach resort with the fees they charge. I will sleep in my truck if there is ever a time that I would have to do anything in or around Amite because of the experience I had with this hotel. Mr. Patel, you have poor management and have lost a customer and I will make sure that I let any of my clients or anyone else I know not to use this establishment for any reason.

They took a bottle of hydrocodone from my meds bag, took the pills, and threw the empty bottle in the top of my purse. When I tried to report it, the manager was not in and the desk person's response was "Housekeeping says no, they don't recall it." Will report to the manager directly. Done with HIE!

Additional fees were added that he did not advise me of on the phone. Had to secure a hall while in town that would accommodate our large number of guests as well as a limited time frame to plan the event. On the shower day the following issues surfaced: We were not permitted use of kitchen sinks/water and large signs were in place stating such. The owner's solution to our request for water was bringing us a bucket of water from which we hand scooped to fill the chafing dishes and flower vases. It was messy and ridiculous! Temperature was set at 79 degrees upon arrival to decorate. Requested several times for the owner to lower temperature. Owner had multiple reasons for hot room... Doors opened while decorating, compressor broken, etc. The room remained hot during the shower. Some guests informed me the owner had conversation with them blaming us, the hosts, for the room being hot. This was extremely unprofessional! The owner walked around during the shower eating our food (which we provided) more like a guest rather than business owner. The eighty plus guests were fanning themselves for the duration of the shower. At the conclusion of the shower I sat down with the owner to pay the balance. He refused to offer any discount or apology for the heat or his behavior. He stated he "attempted" to fix the broken compressor so he did his part. I suppose calling an air conditioning serviceman wasn't an option? I paid the balance because I have integrity. We agreed to a price, and I honored my agreement. He failed to do his part by not providing us with basic needs at a rental hall....water, working air conditioning, professionalism, etc. What he did manage to do was lose eighty or so LOCAL potential customers. The final cost was not the issue as much as his attempt to rectify the situation would have been. Any small gesture on his part would have spoken volumes. Instead, he was rude, unprofessional, unapologetic, and lacked integrity. There is so much more to this review. I could not post my original review because of limited space. I urge customers to do their research and listen to their instinct when unprofessionalism is in play. I NEVER take the time to write reviews, but if this one can spare one family of my experience, it was worth my time. All of the above statements can be confirmed by the fifteen of us decorating and the eighty plus guests in attendance. What was to be a lovely bridal shower honoring a lovely bride-to-be turned into a day at the sauna with a grumpy old man eating our food and lurking around corners. Again, do your research!

We got married on 10/17/2014 at Linda and Joe Bourgeios I "Think were their names, They keep the land and the indoor plantation absolutely immaculate The crazy part is is just the two of them and you would think it takes an army of people to get the place looking as amazing as it does, The attention to detail is absolutely second to None. Albany Plantation is really exceptional. Where there is No Shortage for fresh food and rock 'n' roll Music and when you put those all those together you get a special experience!! And for that magical day you have planned and rehearsed endlessly for so long they payoff in finally Make no mistake Albany plantation runs like a finely Swiss clock that no other wedding venue that I'm aware of provide you We had an amazing time, from taking pictures on the balcony, dance floor and after seeing the pictures and were great evening we had there I would definitely recommend this to friends and family there's no place like it that I've ever been !!! 300-year-old trees out fronts excellent and it's just what you would expect from one of the highest rated wedding plantation home around Good but they really have the hardness sold all poured out into one measure have maintained the place extremely well. They have multiple spots where a couple could have their ceremony and There is outdoor and indoor space available for reception as well. Lane pretty much answered all our questions right away. She is very hardworking. Some guests in wedding already started talking with Lane & John to plan their wedding at the same place :D If you are looking for a outdoor space to get married, I highly recommend this place! My wife and I had our wedding at Albany Plantation last year. We were there first wedding after opening up to the public. I must say that Harlee, Mrs. Linda and Mr.Joe were true professionals! They made our wedding day unforgetable. The grounds were beautiful and the main house was just as amazing. The catered to us and did anything they could to help make our day enjoyable and fun. All of our guests were impressed at how welll everything was handled. The owners made my wife and I feel like family, not just a buisness deal. I would strongly recommend using them for your party. I can't say enough about how professional, helpful and friendly they were. They had also taked about a bed and breakfast, hopefully they will open it up because we will be there for our anniversary next year! Let me finish by saying I read another review about someone saying that they would not allow an African American onto the grounds. They also stated that the staff was dressed up in outfits to serve the white guests. I must say that is bull!!! I am Indian and so is my family. We are pretty dark for the most part. The staff were not dressd up African Americans serving white guests. The owners never once showed any sign of them being racist. The person that posted the review is either lying or just starting trouble. I would defend the owners tooth and nail. They are great people and run a great buisness and deserve the credit they are due. Not some bull story made up of them being racist!!! We had planned our beautiful white wedding for over a year and planned on getting married at the Albany Plantation. My best man who is African American came a little late and was refused entry to the grounds. He called me on my cell and told me what was happening. I couldn't believe it so I asked for the manager and he explained that the Albany Plantation had the right to refuse service to any guest. He went on to explain that this was the south and a plantation and the would damn well run it like one. He said and I quote " You will never ever see a Negro guest" at the Albany Plantation. He made it very clear that if my best man wanted to enter the grounds the only way that would happen would be if he was there to work. All of the staff is black and they dress them up in black and white and only allow blacks to serve their white guests. If you want to revisit the ignorant old south and have a KKK type wedding I guess the Albany Plantation is for you. If you live in modern society (or are black) stay far far away. read more

I woke up that morning, thinking how I wanted this celebration to be perfect, and then I realized that nothing is perfect. But I was completely wrong! Everything about the party was not only perfect, it was absolutely elegant. Albany Plantation was the venue for a wedding that can't be beat. Personally, the best part of being there was experiencing the service of your staff. I was there on Saturday and every single person I dealt with was amazingly polite, helpful, cooperative and more than happy to do whatever needed to be done. I'm can honestly say I'm shocked by seeing Albany Plantation in the Baton Rouge Yelp section. Pleasantly so, but still shocked. lol I'm glad to see this Louisiana Plantation is finally taking off. When we first attended a party around 5 months ago they still needed to work on their lighting and they hadn't finished their outdoor dance floor. I was on facebook earlier and I see they put up the lights and not only finished the dance floor but stained it with like an earthy tone. I LOVE IT.. Good Luck Joe, I'll be sure to put the word out that Albany Plantation is perfect for Baton Rouge wedding venues. After visiting with a place in Hammond, I strongly suggest you call this company I'm sure you'll be as surprised as I was when I found out everything they provide and how reasonable the prices are. Unless you are set on having a wedding in the city, it would be silly not to give Albany Plantation a call and see what kind of price they can work up for you. They even have a huge out door dance floor and balconies. You just don't find that in the Hammond Ponchatoula area. Trust me, I've looked! read more

The ballroom is absolutely beautiful with the high ceilings, exposed beams, custom floor and all the other amenities! The food was exquisite, especially the pasta and crepe stations. I loved the corn and crab bisque. The chocolate fountain... I felt like I steped into a time machine and arrived somewhere else. The staff was warm and friendly and I could go on and on. Coming from New Orleans, It didn't take us long at all to get to Albany Plantation. After seeing other New Orleans wedding venues.... IT WAS A NO BRAINER..lol Albany Plantation was definitely everything they said plus more. Its just really hard in the city to have alot of land and that was our main concern, not only for us but for our guests as well. We looked all through Hammond Louisiana for a vintage plantation style wedding venue. Thank goodness we found Albany Plantation. I never knew Hammond La. had a wedding location like this. Needless to say we definitely booked, especially after seeing the prices of some New Orleans wedding venues and Baton Rouge wedding places. Albany Plantation gets 2 thumbs up from us!! read more
