Melissa was very accommodating with the shorter than their recommended lead time of about 3.5 weeks versus 4 weeks in advance and was very responsive throughout the entire process through email with the final confirmation over the phone. On the day of the pick up, they also remembered we were coming in from LA and followed up with us to make sure we were going to get there before they closed at 4PM. They had a wide variety of flavors to choose from that could be cake, but we settled on traditional chocolate, one of the flavors that allow for a custom design. We sent them an inspiration photo of what we were looking for along with the color scheme and they absolutely knocked it out of the park on the looks. The cake was well received by everyone at the party. Since I was unable to get one of their more daring and creative flavors as the custom cake, I did go ahead and order a dozen of their Dubai chocolate cupcakes and very much enjoyed them.

Everything I sent was soft pastel buttercream, and I was hoping for something in softer pastel instead. As the photos show, the cake I received went in a very different direction: a bright greenish printed edible-image wrap with dark borders and a lot of color and detail on top. It's clearly a lot of work, and I can see the effort in it, it just wasn't the calmer look I'd asked for, and it read as much busier than I expected. The topper also arrived leaning to one side with a jagged cut and unfinished back, which was a little disappointing for a centerpiece. In fairness, Dorothy was prompt and polite throughout, and responded kindly when I shared my feedback. She explained she'd taken a more whimsical interpretation of the references and offered 10% off a future order. I appreciated the gesture, though it didn't quite address a piece that didn't match the brief. I've attached my references and the cake I received. For the price and the lead time, I'd hoped for something a little closer to what I sent, so I don't think I'd order again, but I wish her well.
