First-time customer. I ordered a CARROT CAKE from these folks. Excellent product - handsome, moist, and flavorful. Abundant, too . . . I've never been up against such a hefty dessert. I'd assumed I'd be picking up an eight-inch cake, which was guesstimated/indicated on the phone. Wrong! It's a ten-inch cake, a bohemoth alongside its more traditional eight-inch cousin. This place was yummy. We've been in and out of Brawley for 30 years :) great little sandwich shop. Very reasonable prices. The portions are normal. You can also reserve a table in the back area for sit down dining. I had the tuna sandwich on rye - good Husband had the torpedoed a whole is two sandwiches! He loved it! Poor service. It sucks because my first time here was a definite 5 star. But today I call in my order, they say it will be 30 mins. And damn it if I say that 30 minutes is a VERY long time to make 2 sandwiches. I wait anyway. Get to the store 5 minutes later than the 30 min mark and still no order. A lady inside the door informed me she JUST ordered. She gets her THREE sandwiches AND sodas before I get 1 sandwich. It took them almost 50 minutes and they couldn't care less. Throw me a measly bag of chips or a fountain drink for godsake. Just do something besides letting the customer sit there upset. Btw I asked the cashier to confirm if they had just started my order and he flat out said yes. I would've given a 1 star but these sandwiches save them. read more

This amazing little place isn't right on main street, but it is definitely worth stopping by. I can't believe I just found this place recently when it's been here for a while now. This is the best place in town to eat sandwiches. It's not like a subway it is better because everything is freshly made and has a better selection.Their menu doesn't just include sandwiches they have a dinner selection as well which is different every night but occasionally includes steak and also carries various salads such as crab salad. But definitely over all my favorite from here has to be the club sandwich. I have tried club sandwiches everywhere and nothing compares to there's. Place is off Main Street, so unless you've been told about it, or your local you probably haven't seen the building it's in, but if you're lucky enough to find it you will NOT be disappointed. Sandwiches are hand made right there when you order them by the couple that owns the place. Salads are large and full of veggies and homemade dressing, vegetarian sandwich is loaded with veggies for those who don't eat meat and the sweet tea is perfect for those hot afternoons. Recently this little restaurant was sold to new owners, and so initially I was a little skeptical about dining here. However, As I walked in, I noticed the menu had remained the same & the food was just as delicious as with the original owners. As you walk in, the restaurant itself, small in size, nice, quiet, quaint had a fresh feeling about it. It seems just as the name states, tropical. The nice wood flooring complements the paintings on the walls of birds & trees (hence the name Tropical Delights). There are small tables that sit 4 to each table (I'm sure you could move tables together if needed). You can either order take out, or walk & & sot where you'd like. The menu serves sandwiches, salads, & smoothies. I had the roast beef sandwich (which was my favorite with the original owners), & it did not disappoints. I had a choice of which bread to choose, Rye, sourdough, wheat, white, roll. I chose a roll, no mayo, with cheese. You are also given a choice of sides. Although I really wanted potato salad, I had BBQ lays instead (still being careful to my choice in food). My husband ordered the hot pastrami sandwich also on a roll & also with American cheese. He had a side of macaroni salad, thankfully because I really wanted to try it! I had a fountain soda & he had a coconut smoothie, even though you could technically add another flavor to the smoothie, even 3 combinations are allowed, again, we were playing it safe. The food came out pretty quick considering it was lunch time. The sandwiches, both, were pretty flavorful, although they are just sandwiches, they are so fresh & taste pretty awesome with the side of macaroni salad. (Yes I ate most of my husbands, poor guy). Needless to say, we will be visiting again, I will go all out with my sandwich & side, maybe even pick 2 sides! & we will definitely get a smoothie!
