We had the pleasure of meeting Nicole! She was the best waitress and the service she provided was amazing. She was super knowledgeable and gave us so much information about the wines we were tasting. We had a wine flight and the pizza. Everything was delicious. We sat outside, and we were very comfortable with the heater. Overall, this place is amazing and the service provided was a 10 out of 10! We will definitely be back.

One of our favorites from our tasting.

Emily is simply the best! We had a reserved tasting and she made it so fun while also providing great insight into the history of the winery, the geography of the various vineyards and just the overall make up of each wine we tasted. She also served us a delicious artichoke pesto pizza which we ate before I could take a pic of! The ambiance of this place is very comfortable. Modern and minimalistic but cozy. This was a fantastic experience all the way around from the service to the product and the ambiance.

One of the picks from the grand flight, tasted amazing and our server explained it well

Super cute walking in and we were seated immediately in the outdoor area because it was such a beautiful day. Loved the wine options they had and the served did a great job as she introduced each now wine we were tasting. Recommend for any locals or anyone coming from out of town.

Wineries/wine tastings in CA are a whole another level. That's what I'd humbly say about it even though as much as I appreciate what my home state of CO can offer, during my short stay in the Monterey/Carmel area gave me a deep insight as to what CA can boast about. This wine tasting place is located in the heart of downtown Carmel, its spacious, open feel speaks itself as to how great of a place it is. And of course, it's not just the ambiance, the qualities of the wines they have on the menu simply leave you speechless. Jacob, who was at the bar, walked us through the menu as well as the winery's history. He appeared no more than 30-35 but his expertise in the whole wine making is/was impeccably top notch. I've been an avid wine drinker for many years but after speaking to him, I realized how entry level my knowledge about wine was! I'm not going to lie though; their wine bottles are/were quite expensive so I didn't buy any of them but yesterday's tasting experience was all about the opportunity to learn about one of the best wineries in CA. Next time I am in town again, I'll do anything to make myself available to stop there for the very same flight I did yesterday.

Delicious Chardonnay in a very bright dining room

Yum... overlook the spotlights & glare (just wear sunglasses at night) because the wine is delicious. The ambiance can be fixed -- dim the lights & use some dark tones to offset all the white / light colors. Add some flowers or live plants to help us feel comfortable. When we're comfy, we want to stay. When we stay, we spend more money. The chocolates are basic (from See's ??). These could be upgraded by choosing a local source. We love our local products!! Don't change the wine! It's perfect. The Chardonnay is my fave and Chardonnay is NEVER on my list of wines to imbibe!! The menu is nice for a small winery. I'm looking forward to a return visit. We've lost so many businesses in your space, so enhance the space & improve the food pairings & you'll be ready to compete with the other wine rooms on Alvarado Street.

My GF decided to do a tasting and I usually just take a sip off her tasting. My pallet seems to like the more expensive wine. Not by choice I just like smooth alcohol. My GF like the one Johnathan called Sean Connery so much! I purchased that for her as late birthday gift. Come all and try this place out and give Johnathan a holler! I sounded surprised because we never had a chance seeing them open. They open at 2p and we usually leave before that time. My husband loves wine so he had to go in and check it out. Most of the time, wine cellar stores like this don't carry decent selections. But Stave's selections blew my husband's mind. He said majority of their selections are decent and priced reasonably, which it's rare to see nowadays. So we decided to stay and open a bottle of wine that interested him. We also ordered their cheeseboard, which they said we can get more breads if we want. My toddler was a fan of their cheese and bread, she finished most of them. Steven was the gentleman who served us. He was friendly, attentive and patient. After I checked in on Yelp, there was this 10% promotion popped up. I showed it to one of the staffs, and she said they have new promotion of 15% off now - even better! Of course my husband had to get some. We ended up getting additional 6 bottles with the 15% off promotion. Loved our experience there. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the service, the selections. Nothing we can complain. Amazing experience and highly recommended for all wine lovers.

We went in with pretty high hopes but ended up feeling underwhelmed by the offerings. A lot of the wines tasted watered down, mild, and somewhat similar to one another. This was true for both the reds and the whites. The charcuterie and cheese pairing was also disappointing, especially when compared to Napa, where tastings often feature thoughtfully curated cheeses and meats paired with each wine. That said, the staff were very kind and informative. They explained each wine carefully and in an engaging way, which definitely helped make the experience enjoyable overall. Ultimately, though, the wines themselves were underwhelming and none of them really WOW'd us. They also felt a bit overpriced per bottle (~75$) especially considering you can easily find excellent wines at Napa vineyards for a better value.

That said, I was shocked and disappointed to learn that the tasting room will be closing in March and apparently the Talbot wine production facility on River Road has already been shuttered. All of this is due to the acquisition of the brand by Gallo wines, coupled with a down turn in the wine industry. As a consumer, this really pisses me off. Yet another example of a larger business buying and closing down the competition, thereby taking away another option for the consumer as well as eliminating the experience and enjoyment of a quality wine. I HATE GALLO FOR THIS!!
