I would never return here. Firstly the office is dirty and dated, then the doctor shuffled out and was wearing a face mask that was shredded and caked with dirt. He was also dirty and when he checked my cats ears he did not use a plastic cover. Who know where that equipment has been. He said I will give you some medicine and started to go to the back. I told him I had some from my other cat and would it be okay. I still don't know if it was okay or if he did not understand a word I said. Then I told him he had fleas and I needed revolution. I wish there was a 0 star rating im very very disappointed in the doctors service. I went in for a cat examination because my sisters cat threw up yesterday multiple times and I was looking for a cheap good clinic and I stumbled across his clinic. My sister got her cat like a few days ago so we were just very concerned for him. Off the bat, his professionalism seemed iffy but I always look the best out of things so I was like "whatever." -once we entered the exam room, there was just a high table no cushion no nothing. My sisters cat got scared after the doctor examined his ears and mouth. He seemed so rough, Poot cat started shaking and running around the little room. I was giving the doctor the benefit of the doubt since he was old and I even told him "yeah it's not going to work today we can come back tomorrow" and even the doctor said "ok", but literally he didn't examine him good, he was making us position our cat and stuff, isn't a vet supposed to know how to do that? And he also squeezed our cat and he got hurt. When he brought these big gloves, the cat got even more scared. He told us we had to pay $29 FOR JUST A EAR AND MOUTH EXAM AND NO DIAGNOSTIC WHAT! This is the BEST pet clinic that I have ever taken my dog to. I made an appointment here based on a referral to this clinic and came here for the first time and was a great experience for me and my dog. My dog is 16 years old and NO other vet has ever been able to examine him without it being an ordeal. All went well, until bringing her back for her return visit to get her stitches out. He turned me away! Told me it was impossible to get them out with it being only him and i holding the cat. This is my veterinarian. This was my grandpa's veterinarian. He's been around for awhile. Albern is old school and that's not a bad thing. It's like a one man operation when it comes to this clinic so don't expect anything fancy. He may not be as informative as most other veterinarians that shower you with information, but he's very helpful and knowledgeable; if you don't know something or is curious about something just ask he'll tell you. The one main thing that I love about him is that he's a practical person, he doesn't over do it with things that are unnecessary and prescribe you a lot of things just to make money. Had a good experience today with my Shepherd puppy. The office was very outdated, no computers, or modern technology. It appeared vacant, as there is no receptionist to greet patients. This appeared to be a one man show. The office is bare bones and old! The Doctor examined my Pup throughly! Asked me, to the point, important puppy health questions, then administered the shots without my pup even flinching. I had to request for my pup to be weighed, he took my pup to from the exam room and kindly weighed him. He presented me with a nice shot record, with the date and time for our next appointment written on it(never asked if this appointment time will work for me, just handed me the card with appointment on it. So far not too impressed. I called twice to get some information regarding neutering my dog. The man who answered the phone did not speak very good English, so it was a bit hard to understand. I asked how much he would charge to neuter my dog, and he asked if it was male or female. Ummmmm, really. He gave me a price and then proceded to ask more questions. The informed me they no longer service large dogs. He gave me a quote before having any information, then said he wouldn't do it, and wasn't sure if I had a male or female based on the word neuter. I have heard great things about this place, and I need some other services done as well, that a regular vet would charge an arm and a leg for. He should be on the Recommended Reviews! He is a great doctor, very affordable Vet and cares tremendously for the animals. I should have made a comment years ago and so sorry I didn't. I've taken my cat to him last year and this year, also previous years. My cat has an on going health issues of not being able to poop. Also she starts to throw up the further along it goes on. I believe a year ago she got so bad that she couldn't eat and just laid there like she was going to die soon. I had taken her to another vet and they ran all kinds of tests, extays, blood work and couldn't find anything wrong. They have given her stool softener at one point which did help but that time she just got worse. I decided to take her to Albern Pet Clinic and he said she had an infection in her intestines, put her on antibiotics for about 3 weeks and she got well. So again my cat ran into the same problem this year. I took him again and he said it is because of her hair, she wasn't passing hairballs so it irritated the inner walls of her intestines which can cause infection, she had a high fever. The problem with my cat or shall I say my niece's cat is she doesn't like to take any hairball medicine, so that's a big problem that she had for Many years. Because originally this is my niece's cat she wants to get some other tests done which we would have to go elsewhere, but I will always take her back to Albern Pet Clinic. apparently this dr is fraud!!! i tookin my pet dog she had very bad pain on her leg! dr sees her touches her leg and just like that he said shes in pain and she has inflamation! he prescribed my dog with pills for pain, and inflamation. day by day she gotten worse. His hospital doesnt look proffesional. it looks abandon. i took her to sunset animal hospital in suisun/ fairfield and they did an amazing job. they took her in as an emergency took xrays, come to find out her pelvis is broken and knee is fractured i went back and asked for my money back and told him i was taking him to court. and won my case !!!! read more
