This is very frustrating. I don't normally do any complain about any businesses because I believed on taking my money somewhere else and avoided any headache. However, I like this place and I believe this place can be good if they hired the right people. After the renovation, this place was good but now I don't know what's going on there. They have a bunch of people there that don't care and it's not normal. I inserted 2 screenshot of calls that I made to try to order something and no one answer the phone. On Saturday February 26, 2022, I made several calls to try to order some food there but no one cares to pick up the phone. So I drove there to do so, I watched them just laughing and talking while the phone is ringing. I waited 45 minutes for a griot simple. 45 MINUTES and it wasn't busy cause they were just talking. Worst experience! Waited long time for a food, food was cold when I got it. No customer service and the food quality sucks.

My first time eating here. These food has great flavor. I ordered the Djon Djon rice with Griot. I will definitely return.

The food was quite good... but the service was unbelievably terrible. I mean - this was the worst customer service experience I've ever had a in a restaurant in my life. The workers move with the speed and grace of sloths. It took 40 minutes to get our food, and the line was very long with a lot of other customers waiting in inordinate amount of time for their order. When taking the food home ( I only lived 5 minutes from the restauraunt ) it was already very cold as it had been sitting there for quite some time. I went to this restaurant for take out based on the recommendation of a friend. Upon entry I found that the place appeared clean. There were signs on the floor for COVID social distancing and a bottle of sanitizer on the counter. But what good are signs when the cashier who takes food orders had a mask under her chin ? She did not cover her nose and mouth. My friend and I told her that it is recommended to cover her mouth and nose but she pretended not to hear us and carried on as if we said nothing. I have to say that other staff were wearing their masks the right way. I really do recommend that the owner ensures appropriate COVID compliance by all staff. read more

This restaurant is neat and clean, and a very warm and welcoming feeling. I frequent this place often due to the fact they have very delicious food. When they come here I get the legume with white rice and beans sauce and picklez. The food is always tasty, flavorful, and filling. The food at Alberte's is always DELICIOUS. The place looks very clean. They also sell Haitian products not commonly found everywhere. However, that's it. I have not been at Alberte's ONCE and not left frustrated! Food takes forever. I will call 30mns in advance and give them time... food is still not ready when I get there. Sometimes you call, pa gen griot, pa genyen du riz djon djon. There's always something they dont have from the menu. The staff's attitude never fails to amaze me. It's like you're doing them a disfavor by ordering. They charge extra for sauce. They charge extra for pikliz. Mentioned a bad experience to the owner's son once and he smiled and said "oh I cant believe they didn't get your order right" and he continued to smile. It's your store and you can't believe YOUR staff messed up? I've given Alberte many many many chances before I decided to write this review so I am being completely fair. This restaurant would appeal to so many more people and actually make a ton of money if they could just clean up there act customer service wise. I have never experienced poorer service except at Walmart before the $10/minimum wage hike (and after the temporary eager to please died down real quick) You actually have people fighting on who came first. That could be easily solved with a ticket system. Then you have the wait times FOREVER. I know this is Florida and considered the south so things are slower down here but these people need to get with the times. In NY and Boston they have Haitian Buffets on every corner. Down here you still have to wait 30 minutes for food that should have been prepped and ready to drop in the fire. EXTREMELY BAD customer service. Food is decent but some health violations may be occurring in between the disgusting bathrooms and fact that you cant even see what they are serving you due to the glass covering always steaming up. That must cause some sort of overcooking or even breed some sort of bacteria after a long day. I love this place. Ive been coming here for years. Their portions are huge for the price. I am always satisfied. Everyone is always friendly. I recommend this place to anyone. This restaurant is very good. However they have the worst service in Palm Beach County. 1st of all they are extremely slow. 2nd The front house employees never seem to know what they are doing. Even if you call ahead and pay for you food once you get there it is no guarantee that your food will be ready or even available. They are non-apologetic for their incompetence and bad service. I have been going there couple of times. Every time you go there, they change the price. Today out of all the days, got me real mad. My fiance called there to make an order for a griot. Because he did not speak creole and spoke English, they assume that he's never been there before and charge him a $1.00 more to his order. After he picked up the order, I then called and ask for the price of what we ordered with tax and everything, The total came up to $8.50 because i spoke creole with them. I then ask for a manager, and the same girl that ring him up picks up the phone and stated she charges him $1.00 more because of the mix rice. When he called, they couldn't tell him what type of rice they had. Plus, he did not order any rice. He only ask for a griot. I am an honest person and I like to do business with people as such. This place is not honest at all. If you ask for griot, They will give you two-three meat and the rest is fried grease. Never again will i go waste my money there. The owner/ manager should be aware of what's going on. If you're going there for the first time, just know that you are being charge more the usual. As well as if you do not speak creole, you are guaranteed to be charge more than what the menu is, because they know that you won't bother to ask. This place doesn't hold an honest business at all. This is going to be my third and last time at Alberte's restaurant. Every experience I've had at Alberte's has been a negative one. They are always under staffed. Their servers are rude and management doesn't care to fix many of their issues. To get food from this restaurant is a good 30 to 45 minute wait even if you call your order in. They will tell you they have a food item on the phone and once you arrive tell you that they ran out of it. There are times where my food was given to me cold. Not because it came out of the kitchen late but because there is no sense of urgency on the wait staff. Too many customers too few wait staff and not enough organization is the main problem. No apology is ever given, you just have to learn to deal with it. South Florida has too many Haitian restaurants for me to be dealing with this. My family and I love the food. Like so many have said, customer service is not so good. I had an experience today that left a very bad taste in my mouth. My husband and I went in this morning, it was clean, with just 2 customers. One paying for his food and the other ordering. We said good morning and everyone went on with what they were doing without addressing us. After finishing up with the paying customer, a young lady, with her back turned stated " If you want to order food, you need to go down there." Meanwhile, two other ladies stood around drinking. We went down to order. At this time, a young lady was fixing an order, we stood there patiently waiting. Still, no one addressed us, after standing there for about 3 mins, all the ladies congregated and started carrying on a conversation. My husband and I looked at each other and asked ourselves if we were invisible. Even as we walked out the door because of the poor customer service, they just went on carrying the conversation without a care in the world. I am having a wedding in Lake Worth, but I currently live in Orlando. I called to get some pricing for some food for appetizers. The lady was unwilling to go over any information with me over the phone. Even when informed that I live 3 hours away and would be willing to call at a more convenient, she refused my business. I am an American born Haitian and I would love nothing more than to support my country and people in anyway. This is a prime example of why other businesses thrive better than ours. I have gotten price quotes from all types of places with no problem. Shameful.
