I have noticed in the bakery area, employees will rip off the dates of any of the items that are about to expire or have already expired. They leave the dates on the packages that are new. The expired packages are pushed to the front and all of the new packages are way in the back. Go and look for yourself. You will see a bunch of ripped labels on the bakery items. Also, their produce section is pretty terrible. They also have a bunch of broken freezer doors that just literally stand open. I have been a few times and these doors are still just open right where the eggs are. I don't go here anymore. read more

When I mailed a package here a few weeks ago, I asked to confirm that this service is provided until 8 p.m. The man behind the desk replied affirmatively. When I arrived to mail a package here yesterday around 6 p.m., the counter was closed. A nearby cashier informed me they usually close it at 6:30 p.m. but a manager had done so early -- and it really all depends on what any given manager wants to do. I do not know why FedEx partners with this grocery store chain, which demonstrates about as much interest in sending and receiving packages as a tin can. But per the FedEx website, this location provides services until 8 p.m. every day of the week. I will say that the cashier was friendly, which is the only positive thing to report. read more

Mixed bag, pun intended. Bagger was very curious and placed eggs in their own paper bag. Also asked if I'd like rotisserie chicken in a separate bag. I said, "Yes, Thank you!" Upon looking at my bagged cart, I saw that the chicken bag was loaded up with other items, but more amazing was another bag was stuffed with liquid items. Very Strange. On the other hand was Desiree the checker, who asked, if "I found everything OK?" I told her I'd had trouble finding one item. She politely walked me over to it and returned to her station while I grabbed what I'd missed. Otherwise I found everything very well stocked, store layout great, with plenty of fresh produce. When shopping there on November 1 most of the fresh produce was either heavily wilted or completely dried out. Carrots, lettuce, beets, all types of greens. Anything that you can imagine food that will end up now in the garbage. There were small avocados hundreds of them, completely rotten I asked to speak with the store manager. There was no manager in the facility. A customer service person I spoke to said that a couple of people had mentioned it, that he mentioned it to the produce manager, and that that person did not care. At a time when food security is the problem in America and people are struggling to pay for food to watch thousands of dollars of food going into the garbage can is incredibly distressing. The people that work there that don't care shouldn't be working there and where is upper level management that is concerned about keeping the right people in place. I took plenty of pictures and sent them to all of my friends and told them not to shop there . TRAGIC. read more

I went in to get a couple of items and I saw ice cream on sale. When I got to the checker they told me I had to pay full price because it was a 'digital' sale. That was annoying because the digital notification was in tiny print. When the checker went to check the price she had to tear the tag off the glass door to read it. I passed on the ice cream and went on my way. A couple of miles up the road I looked at the receipt and she had charged me full price for ice cream I never received. Oh well. I drove back to the store, found the checker and told her of the problem. She told me I had to go to 'customer service'. There was a line of 12 people waiting for one person to help them. I ask for a manager and was sent to two women pouring over a book of prices. In short they both looked at me like I brought garbage to their Thanksgiving dinner. With a frown she said she would try to make the line move faster. Definitely not fast enough for the 12 people that had been waiting. I finally got to the person, who also wore a frown like it was part of the Abertson's uniform. I walked passed the two 'managers' if you can call them managers. No sorry for wasting your time. Nothing but tolerance as thin as a hair. Their attitude was the worst. A child playing store would have a better concept of customer service. They saw me as I walked by and both just turned their backs. I strongly suggest if you live in Santa Fe, find another store that treats it's customers instead of cattle. read more

Went to the bakery and found a simple vanilla cheese cake. I went over to the counter where it wasn't busy at all! I asked if they could write a simple name; nothing fancy, just a very simple write. They all stood there in aw, and I kept saying it doesn't need to he fancy. NO ONE WOULD DO IT and kept saying the "writer" is responsible for this request. I kept saying, "I don't care if it's not fancy. It's a simple name. No happy b-day, nothing! One of the ladies who called the shots sat back at her desk, and I asked to talk to her. New to area last 2 years. This store has always had everything I've needed. Great produce and meats. Service has always been kind and friendly. A tall blonde lady whose name I don't know but always kind and friendly helping guest. I've noticed her several times over the last 2 years. Thought I'd end the year by thanking others for service. The fellas that cashier at night might not be super smiling but always seem to be fast and friendly and consistently working there. While the grocery store itself is very good, their pharmacy is substandard. I went to the pharmacy today for a Covid booster vaccine (by appointment) and was extremely disappointed with their disorganization and lack of courtesy. Repeated forms for medical history- even though all of this information is required online when making the appointment. The 'insult-to-injury' was noticing when I got home that the date of the vaccination was wrong (December not October)! Beware! read more

Buyer Beware, we have shopped at Albertson's for several years and time and again we have caught them cheating on pricing in many different ways. The last straw came this week when they had an item "On Sale" with a price of $13.94. It was crowded and there was not time to check the receipt as we usually do but did look when we got home. They over charged us, never a surprise with them, so we called. The manager said that there were two items with the same description from the same supplier, same weight in the freezer but had different prices. If it was the first or the tenth time similar bait and switch products and pricing had come up we might say OK but it happens much too often. It is not the Cashiers who do the cheating it is the Management. Prices are often not updated to what is on the shelf, or labeled in an ambiguous way at a different price in the system, they often raise prices by 30 or 40% just before their 2 for 1 sales, which seems dishonest, overall they are not to be trusted. Check your receipt before you leave, you will see how often, there is a mistake, always in their favor. read more

I'm writing about the Albertsons on Zafarano. So often in the 4 years we've been shopping there, they're out of so many things - crazy things that you'd have no trouble getting anywhere else. Sometimes they're out of these basic items for MONTHS! Other stuff they simply don't carry. But here's the WORST. The store is sometimes full of people who don't wear masks or people who wear them pulled down below their noses which accomplishes nothing at all. It seems that months back, they at least had someone at the door to see to it that people were wearing them when entering the store. I know it's extremely unpleasant to confront these creeps and enforce mask wearing, but it's so important - especially now when cases of Covid are spiking again. This was my first time visiting this grocery store and I witnessed TODD, an employee there, answer the phone and proceed to have an attitude with whoever was on the other end and said "I heard you the first time I'm not retarded" and slammed the phone down. First of all, that's VERY unprofessional to say to anyone, especially in front of customers or TO a customer. And that's a very offensive word that should not be thrown around like that. I told him I thought he was very unprofessional and he ignored me and walked right past me instead of trying to diffuse the situation which made it even worse. I will not be visiting this location again as TODD has made my first experience an very uncomfortable one. This location is also the grungiest grocery store I have ever stepped foot in and many things on the shelf are past expiration date. Y'all need to do better. read more

I don't understand why Santa Fe doesn't have better grocery stores. The Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are okay, but well below their usual standards. I've been a regular at two different Albertsons in California and really liked them both. This one is pretty dirty. Often the Express line isn't open, even when there are lots of customers in the regular lines. And twice I have purchased meats only to get home and find their expiration was SEVERAL WEEKS in the past. I didn't really think this was something I needed to check; I've never once encountered that in hundreds of trips to Albertsons in California. (I've since learned my lesson and now check everything.) All of these things could be easily resolved with a strong management presence. I guess that doesn't exist here. read more

The WORST pharmacy experience. I called in the morning to renew a Rx and received a text several hrs later saying the RX was ready. When I went to pick up the RX, i was quoted a price significantly higher than i had paid previously. When I inquired about the price, I was told that i did not have insurance which was incorrect. When i showed her my insurance card, she then went into their records and found my insurance information and she told me it would then take several days to put through insurance. When i then spoke to the manager, he told me that it was NOT their responsibility to check insurance and when they did, it was strictly a courtesy. I could not believe that this was coming from a pharmacy manager! Not sure if it was incompetency or laziness, either way time to change to CVS. Even for Santa Fe, this lack of customer service and rudeness is unusual. read more

Managers need to take control of number of items that can be purchased in order for others to have the same opportunity. Who runs this store? I almost never get out without being overcharged for something. Once, it was over $40. Usually it is because the computer doesn't match the sale sign on the shelf. They used to give a mispriced item free. Today is the dumbest decision EVER. They are doing some work in the parking lot and have blocked ALL of the handicap parking. I am 79 and walking with a cane. This location is rather depressing. If you go after dark you'll see that some of the letters in their sign have gone out. The decay continues inside as the first thing you see is a Starbucks but the first thing you smell is not-very-fresh fish. There are some aisle sections where the lighting has gone out and not been repaired. The structure looks dated. It's large enough, but if you look closely at the shelves, you will notice that they are not well stocked and do not always have great variety. The surrounding area can also be sketchy. read more

The other reviewers must have this store confused with somewhere else...I've shopped here for many years and never had reason to complain. They have ample parking. The store is clean and now fully remodeled. The staff has always been 100% friendly and helpful. The variety of foods offered is excellent. They have a good deli counter, a good butcher shop, good produce and a decent selection of packaged breads as well as canned, bottled and frozen foods...on the negative side, they could improve their fresh baked goods, and their drug store area. AS WITH ANY MERCHANT, avoid shopping during peak shopping hours and you can avoid long waits for service or checkout...I've never had a long wait at checkout in this store and the checkers are all friendly but occasionally frazzled. Try smiling instead of complaining and see if it helps. I've shopped frequently at two of Santa Fe's Albertson's and two of their competitors stores since the early 90's. This store is one of the top two in my opinion. I've never visited a five star grocery store. read more

First the good: The folks here are very nice. The flowers are incredible. Then the bad: 80% of the baggers cannot bag properly. I have had them hand me a plastic container of iced brownies to carry because they didn't want it to get overturned. I'm not walking down the street carrying a plastic box. Pack the bag properly first, then you won't have this problem. I've had to re-bag for myself several times because of other items as well. I went to the deli. A worker was leaning over showing her butt crack and her underwear. No deli for me. Gag. I found a product with a broken lid. I desperately needed it for my recipe and it was the only one left. Actually, their selection overall is pretty good, and they have Dave's bread (high protein, low sugar) etc. The only knock is for checkout which even at 7am can have a long line because there is only 1 checkout going. And the checkout guy always forces me to take a receipt even though I've been there about 50 times over the last 2 years and each time I tell him not to give me a receipt (he just shoves it in my bag, or gives me this disgusted look). read more

A group purchased the Albertson's Stores in certain locations in New Mexico and elsewhere and changed the name to Albertson's Market. Apparently they are going to pay for the purchase and/or buyout by raising prices across the board from what appears to be twenty to fifty percent and in some cases creating false signs of new lower prices. Even the items listed in their weekly sales flyers are a joke with prices higher than other stores regular prices. I use to shop there regularly and it was my preference, but not anymore. read more

Pharmacist couldn't haven been more rude. She took my script then looked at me with an ugly look on her face and said, let me see if we have these in stock. She never made it to the check. Instead she showed the other pharmacist my script and she continued on to make a smart ass remark thinking I couldn't hear her. She then brought back my script and told me she couldn't fill it because it was a controlled substance. Hmmm?? Don't pharmacies fill all medications if they have it in stock?? She said they weren't accepting new patients?? So what kind of community pharmacy is this? I've filled my children's scripts here for many years. It was just atotal discrimination on the 2 pharmacists part. I have worked in the medical field for years and this just made this pharmacy look so bad. Very disappointing. read more
