Nice morning staff. Always willing to help. Always friendly. Evening staff is in desperate need of retraining. Standing around self-check gossiping and just plain rude. If I am required to check my own groceries employees should be at least pleasant. One employee actually yelled at a customer at customer service, in the front of the store for all to see and hear. They definitely keep their rude & lazy workers for the night shift. Never been to a store that has such rude and unhelpful people. They literally just stood around and snickered at a disabled woman trying to checkout & load her groceries, not one of the 6-8 workers that were milling around the checkout stations even offered to help her, it was disgraceful! And they insisted she do the self checkout, even tho she could barely stand, I felt so bad for her. Albertson's & Safeway store management should be ashamed of themselves. I am 72, look like I'm in my 50's. This store with with 2 employees both with facial rings at the register knowingly allowed me to walk out with a 6 pack of Samual Adams that was not paid for. Waited till I was almost halfway to my vehicle and proceeded to treat me like a criminal. No they did not call the police but, proceeded with the most rude undercurrent of character toward me. I know for a fact that they knew I had that in the bottom of my cart when I left the cashier. I simply forgot about that down there and you know they are trained to take note of the cart as soon as you leave the cashier, yet instead of politely saying, ''Sir, you forgot to pay for the beer'' something like that, they played their little game till I turned into a criminal, so to speak. It threw my whole day off , know this... is how the new younger generation can be so divergent. Market of Choice, who I frequent would never do this to me, would make light of it and at the correct moment. I am never returning to Abertsons. read more

Over the years I've often overlooked Albertsons only because I forget that it's there! This is a nice, clean, store that is always well stocked and well staffed. It's a big store that doesn't make me feel liked I'm packed in with tons of other shoppers. The thing that has brought me back to shopping here regularly is the employees. Any time I've asked for assistance with anything they're always super friendly, helpful and attentive. Today I was wandering around collecting my monopoly freebies, along with groceries for the next few days. I needed to ask the woman at customer service where a couple of the items were located and if she happed to have the free waters available. She handed me the waters and helped me locate the other items, all with a cheerful personality and a friendly smile. When I finished collecting everything, and checked out, my cashier actually counted the monopoly tickets that he scanned to make sure they were all credited. He notice 3 didn't scan through and took the time to figure out which ones didn't get counted. He was very friendly and patient and I really appreciated his above and beyond customer service. I'm making a point from now on to be a regular customer here. I'd hate to see this store disappear so I'll be back weekly to help keep them in our neighborhood. BONUS: Their bakery is worth a visit! The donuts are fresh and soft, the muffins are so good and the French bread is some of our favorite! read more

Basically, from my perspective, Albertsons is a great place to go (besides Fred Meyer, which I also view to be very neat) when it comes to looking for really neat deals. Plus, I have noticed it's clean, nice and very well stocked with what people need. And from what I have seen, the staff is very nice, as well as very friendly too. And if I had to pick one part of Albertsons I like the best, it would be the deli. I especially like the Cheep Chicken Monday the best; the regular chicken tenders are delicious, as are the potato wedges (which I call jo-jos). On those Cheep Chicken Mondays, I go for a pound of regular chicken tenders, and half a pound of jo-jos; they are my favorite, and they make an awesome treat for once in a while too. All in all, it's a very awesome grocery store. I highly recommend it, and I give it five stars as well (although ten stars would definitely be even better too). read more

Second time I have noticed (and I RARELY shop here) that I didn't get the advertised price at the register. The only competitive prices they have are on sale items and you have to really pay attention that you get that price. Unacceptable. The only reason they get 3 stars is because their staff is amazing. Absolutely small town friendly every time I have ever been there. Seem to be happy people that are willing to help customers in anyway and I do value that more than they probably know. :) read more

I went into the store today , looking for something quick and easy for dinner . I don't normally go into this store for many reasons . I feel like it's a glorified quickie store . I also feel the prices are high for the low quality you're getting . However , I'm exhausted and it's close to home, so Albertsons it is. I'm looking at their deli section and it looks like prepackaged salads in cheap plastic bowls with a parsley leaf on top to make it seem high end. I wait, because the service person has her back to me and seems on a mission slicing cheese. I wait, second guessing my decision for dinner. A second women joins me, waiting for at least eye contact . She walks away after five minutes . I still stay, so that makes me a fool. The employee turns around and says , I kid you not, "what can I get for you? QUICKLY!" That rubbed me the wrong way . Firstly I was waiting politely for ten minutes . Secondly , I thought I was a customer . I'm already not digging the idea of having this for dinner and now I feel like I'm an inconvenience . I said what I wanted and her reaction looked annoyed . I decided against anything else and got some sandwiches that were made and wrapped so I wouldn't have to bother her. The other lady came back after me and the employee said the exact same thing to her and I kid you not she said, "never mind" and looked equally annoyed . The employee said loudly to where I could hear her, "Ma'am I don't close until ten!!" She walked away and I knew exactly how she felt . I understand that customer service is hard, I also understand that people can be unreasonable . However , it's all about tact and how you talk to people . I felt that it was a rude way to greet a paying customer and I wasn't the only one . read more

Suzie was my cashier this evening and she did a horrible job, I was purchasing wine with my wife and first she wouldn't sell me the wine because my wife forgot her I'd at home even tho I was the one buying it. Then when I went home and dropped my wife off, grabbed her is just in case and came back she still wouldn't sell me the bottle of wine (we are both 22) so I showed her my wife's id and explained that you do not need to prove everyone in your household is over 21 to buy alcohol. So I called my wife and she came back and the woman continues to cause a scene about how I was being "mean" long story short this store is stupid. They hire people who are improperly trained and rude. Several times I have came home from this store with bad produce, bad meats, and bad service. Tonight was the last straw. I have bought all of my groceries there for the last two years and tonight was my last visit to Oregon city Albertsons. Thanks Suzie. PS: Suzie, go retake your OLCC class you were so happy to tell me about five times because you obviously didn't pay any attention the first time. And also, have you ever sold alcohol to a parent who was buying groceries with their child? The PERSON PURCHASING the alcohol must be over 21 years of age in Oregon, if that applies to everyone present then you can not sell to that parent, or serve alcohol to one person at a table who is over 21 just because someone else at the same table is 19. Learn the law before you refuse service. read more

I went into this store this morning to buy lottery tickets and candy for stocking stuffers for our office Christmas party. I went to the customer service desk first to buy the lottery tickets. When I got there, there wasn't anyone working the customer service counter so I just went ahead and figured out which lottery tickets I would buy. I stood there for a few minutes and several employees walked by me but no one acknowledged me. I finally went and asked an employee if she could help me. She said she couldn't but she would get someone to help me. She asked one of the cashiers if she could help me. Then a heavy set male employee, who was near the customer service desk, yells over at me "You can only buy tickets out of the machine right now because customer service doesn't open until 11 as the sign says right there. And she (meaning the person who I spoke to to begin with) should have known that. This embarrassed her and I. He was so rude. All he had to say was "I'm sorry, customer service doesn't open until 11." There was no need to speak to either of us that way. This was not my first bad experience at this store but it is going to be my last because I will not be going back. They need to learn the definition of customer service. read more

This Albertsons has positioned itself as a convenience store with the prices to go along with it. They have most things you want....but not everything. The store is never packed...there is never any waiting. Most people go to Fred Meyer or Safeway, both down the street, for their full grocery shopping. Honestly I'm not sure how they can stay open with that type of competition. Their only competitive advantage is proximity to the neighborhood across the street....and as I stated, serves most as a convenience store for a quick stop for under 8 items. They are nice to have so close...but I won't be suprised if they fold. read more

We I have been customers of the store for years now. All the sudden there's this lady named Margaret who's working there. I do not smoke cigarettes I'm 33 years old and I wasn't even in the checkout line with my wife when she demanded to see my ideas I was checking out a Redbox because I was speaking to her. I understand there are some protocols yet I then said what if I brought my 17-year-old son and would you caught him and she said no because he's a child even though there would be noted way to tell whether he was 18. And also she messed up on getting my gas rewards because she hit up a total button she was unable to have me put in my guygas reward she clearly just does not know what she's doing and needs to be taking on this position thanks for ruining my night Margaret read more

We went to get a propane tank. We asked the guy to ensure it was full. He said yes. We got home and hooked it up to find out it was empty. We had 25 people at our house waiting to eat and had to drive back to get a new propane tank. When we showed up with our concern the guy helping us wasn't sympathetic at all didn't even address our concern. Yes, he got us a new propane tank but wasn't polite in the slightest and completely avoided addressing our inconvenience. Horrible customer service & what an inconvenience to say the least. We will never be back. Not to mention we paid $50 to get it. We will never be back to Safeway or Albertsons in Oregon city. How ridiculous... read more

Amazing to us. Albertsons and Safeway are owned by the same company. Yet today, Albertsons would not honor Safeway coupon for a Fried Chicken dinner. They both price their deli food in a similar price range, but still would not. Guess from now on, after 13 years of loving Albertsons chicken, we are switching to another preparer. read more

I absolutely love to shop this Albertsons!! I don't have to deal with Fred's parking lot nightmare of A-hole out-of-staters who think a 'California stop' going 30mph is acceptable inside a parklng lot. You will also not find any of the SJW crowd here at Albertsons as an added bonus. As long as I can shop in peace without being browbeaten by someone's gender and identity politics - I'm good. Plenty of parking, reasonable selection, good organic produce section, best price on Portobello mushrooms, you can find fresh pesto, nice selection of cheeses, yogurts, lots of cashew milks, almond milks, etc, they also have killer clearance racks you need to hit every week or so for fabulous deals on wine, skin and hair care, food items, just about anything. The employees are friendly and real country people. If you can't deal with that, maybe you'd better move somewhere else? I appreciate not having to drive into the belly of Hilltop just to buy some groceries. If I want to be confronted by crowds of people in various states of mental health - I'll hit Fred's, but Albertsons is my store. They also offer Money Gram services and have a good pharmacy. They special order in an allergy medicine that Walgreen's charges almost $30 for and Fred's doesn't carry., and I get it for $9 with a smile and thank you.at Albertsons.Oh, and note to the person gritching about the 'self checkout' disappearing. It's called 'product loss'. That's why they did away with it. Blame dishonest people, not corporate. read more
