Great resource for the average person to get restaurant style supplies and quantities at excellent prices. Probably great for actual restaurants too, but I can only speak for myself as a casual shopper (I have seen folks from restaurants loading up on supplies). What does this mean in practice? Well I go here when I am hosting people or cooking in bulk. I get 5lbs loafs of mozzarella here for my pizza cooking, massive bags of chocolate chips if I'm making dozens of cookies, all sorts of large quantities of frozen appetizers, giant chunks of delicious cheese for appetizers, even bags of ice are cheaper than the grocery (and larger). I thought Costco had me covered on bulk items, but it's really not the same (and I love Costco). I shop at both. In my opinion Chef Store bulk cheese is unbeatable. Good selection and fantastic bulk prices. Highly recommend checking it out. I wish I had more occasions to take advantage of their cheese deals. Great for chefs, Food Truck and restaurant owners and they even allow us regular cooks shop here too, no membership required! It's clean, well organized, and well stocked. Plus those that work here are friendly and kind. I'd give a bonus star if I could because when I checked out the cashier said, "thank you, Miss" as opposed to what I typically get elsewhere, which is, "thank you, Ma'am." While I will never have a need for a bucket of soy sauce, 5 pounds of Mayo or a 20 lb bag of rice, I have made a mental note of the 6 lb can of crushed tomatoes, perfect for my next batch of Sunday gravy! And just $6.49. Not everything comes in ginormous quantities. They have cases of regular size items and single cans, bags and jars. Since I cook frequently and prepare a variety of cuisines, they had several items I will when the need arises. Large cans of artichoke hearts for big batches of the spinach & artichoke dip I make during the holidays; wide rice noodles (XL width) for several Thai dishes; wonton strips for my homemade egg drop soup; extra virgin olive oil; sirloin steak for fajitas; and a huge jar of pepperonchini because I put them ion sandwiches, in salads, in jambalaya, in arroz con polo, on gyros and so much more!!! Some prices are identical to grocery stores and others are half of what you would pay elsewhere. So be a smart shopper! In addition to the pantry items, they have kitchen tools and gadgets; soda and bottled water; fresh produce; meats; seafood; deli meats; bakery items, bread and dessert; and prep containers. Since they are located just two blocks off my route home from the gym, it's an easy stop if I need something specific, or like today when just wantped to check out what was there. So whether you are a chef or restaurant owner or someone throwing a pizza party or making a lot of food for a party or BBQ, Chef'store has the quality at economical prices. We can consume foods from so many sources! As mentioned by other reviewers, if you have a restaurant, this may be a supplier for non-local mass distributed ingredients. I like grocery shopping and cooking so glad to discover a new option. Garlic is one spice of life. TJ discontinued crushed garlic. But C&C has Christopher Ranch crushed garlic. It is a good ingredient to make au jus gravy. It is inexpensive here. Broil or saute some fish, meat or vegies with olive oil and salt. Then add garlic and boiling water to make gravy-like pour-over and poach for a brief time. Semi-healthy, right? Tasty, yes. And you can pour the jus over rice, potatoes, pasta too. If you wander through here you will find some fascinating foodstuffs, even for your home kitchen! read more

This is a very interesting store. I came here because I had a delivery for work from this store the other day. They seem to be a restaurant supply store. I really like it actually. The staff are super friendly, they were even joking around with us. They have lots of unique items, that make them ideal for 1. Anything you need to buy in bulk. Which is really awesome, especially for big families. 2. If you have an office, like Sheryle and I do for counseling, it's really nice to be able to furnish it with a nice coffee and refreshments area. While accessible to regular everyday customers, Cash n' Carry was designed more with the restaurant purchaser in mind. It's where I go when I'm throwing a big party and need the kinds of bulk things that Costco isn't going to have. Like a large quantity of 5oz plastic tumblers or a giant lot of Gummi hamburgers, for example. They also sell large size mixers, super cheap flats of water, Mexican Coke, and food. Plenty of food. Oh, and they offer up a ton of kitchen utensils and other various kitchenware, if you don't have time to go get it at Rose's. CUSTOMER SERVICE FAIL I recently was looking for some Chinese restaurant plates. I called ahead of time to do a price check and they said $3.78 for the ovals. I asked twice to confirm. Great. Let's pack all 4 kids in the car and drive 20 minutes to find out that they're $5+. When I asked a manager to see if there was anything they could do he gave me the blank mcdonalds employee stare. A STARK REMINDER OF WHY I GO TO COSTCO. We probably had $200 worth of goceries that I planned on buying this trip alone. Sorry cash and carry. You have now convinced me to carry my cash elsewhere. Best place to buy flavored syrups for coffee! Seriously, they have an entire aisle dedicated to syrups that you can find about 50% cheaper than anywhere else. And they have just about every flavor you could imagine! I'm a big fan of their frozen soups too. They have a bunch of different kinds and you just add milk or water, heat on the stove and serve. Plus it's pretty much all the soup you could ever want for at least a week. read more

Does anyone need rice? I think we're set for rice for the next year because of Cash & Carry. A fifty-pound bag is only $30. They're practically giving it away! OK, so maybe you need something to wash down all that rice. How about a crate of Mexican Coca-Colas, fancy glass bottles and real sugar and all? They have that, too, for about 75¢ a bottle. Five pound bag of tortilla chips? Got it. Every flavor of coffee syrup for half the price of the grocery store? Got that, too, it's its own aisle. This review is long overdue. I've been shopping there for a year and a half for my business, and I couldn't be happier with this restaurant supply store. Think of it as Costco, but only the food part, and with a larger variety. What always impresses me about this location is how impeccably clean, well stocked, and organized it is, even operating with a fairly small crew. The employees are super helpful, friendly, and hard working. Love both Ryans, Ponch, Ray, Graham, and everyone else. The only pitfall is that early in the morning the bread rep likes to block the aisles with his tray and isn't too accommodating to move for the paying customers. And just like Costco, you need to know your retail prices going in. Not everything is a smoking deal, but mostly you'll save a ton of money for your business, party, BBQ, wedding, meeting, wake, school carnival, lemonade stand, whatever. read more

There was not a whole lot that I liked about this place. I found the employees to be too busy to be helpful (even though the store seemed to be having a slow day) and other customers rude & aggressive. Example: a man was pushing one of those flatbed carts & ran right into the back of my legs, knocking me almost down. I was caught by my grandson. No apologies, in fact he acted like I had done something wrong. When it came time for me to check out with my one item, I walked up to the cashier to pay where I was swiftly told off by all 4 customers that I cut in line. 4 male shoppers with hundreds of dollars of groceries couldn't by galant enough to let the one woman shopper with one item just pay & be on my way? I apologized & said I had never shopped here before & assumed that when a checker is just standing around waiting for a customer, that meant I could walk up to the checker & pay. Noooo, was I wrong. So all in all it was a very unpleasant experience & I won't be back. read more

I LOVE this store. Seriously, it's where I do most of my shopping. Best prices I can find on food and the only place I can find restaurant grade supplies (I'm a home cook but I cook a lot and I often want things that are uncommon in normal stores). The thing to keep in mind is that this is a restaurant supply store, that means a few things: 1) don't expect to go in to by 1 of anything. They don't have loose green onions, you buy about 50 of them in a bag. 2) they don't have much staff, they expect their customers to be food service professionals and to be able to figure stuff out. Seriously, there's maybe 3 employees and they're all working checkout. Don't get upset if there's no one to check the back room...which doesn't exist, the whole store is the stock room. 3) many of the customers ARE food service professionals. They're trying to pick up everything that they need to get dinner service started, they are WORKING. That means they're going to be most concerned with getting what they need and out so the rest of the kitchen staff has a decent night, not letting you get out with your olive oil...which comes to 4) have a list, seriously, if you don't want to drive out of here with a box of cabages in your front seat stagger your purchases. Canned goods one week, fresh tomatoes the next, baking supplies on alternate Tuesdays...whatever system works for you, trust me you want it. You don't want to wander this storing impulse shopping with a sadan as your only way home. read more
