I blinked... And the wedding was over. My fiance and I spent countless months emailing/calling/texting vendors to make sure that we chose the right people for the job. We read through hundreds of reviews on The Knot, Wedding Wire, and Yelp. Since we live in the San Francisco bay area and the wedding was in Waikiki, it was especially difficult trying to sample food via FaceTime.... So much excitement planning the big day.... and it was over in an instant. And I don't recall if I cried when Kortni walked down the aisle. I don't remember what music was playing as we entered the reception. I don't know what the Lilikoi cheesecake tasted like. I don't remember if I got a dance with my mom. ... and that's where Albiola Photography and Videography came in. Jon captured every precious moment. His team of photographers and videographers answered all of the important questions. Yes, I cried. The entrance song was "Can't Stop the Feeling" from Trolls. No, because I didn't eat the cheesecake (or anything on my plate for that matter). Yes, I danced with mom to Boyz II Men. But let me rewind for just a moment... Jon is extremely responsive. And since there is a 3 hour time difference, it was nice to get a call before 9:00pm PST and not using the scale of "Hawaiian Time", which translates to 2 or 3 days later. LOL. Jon responded within the hour. He was very professional, easygoing, and worked within our budget. It didn't take long for us to sign the contract. Ok, back to the wedding... Kortni and I decided to write each other love letters on the morning of the wedding. My nephew (also my ring bearer) was practicing his reading skills by reading the letter aloud as I wrote. It was kinda embarrassing, because I was being cheesy, but cute to hear him read. As I was putting on the finishing touches to the letter, I looked back and noticed that Jon was capturing every minute on camera. It was a special moment and Jon caught it. Jon has a special knack of being at the right place at the right time and not being in the way. He's like a photo ninja. But when he needed to take charge of a situation, like the chaos between the ceremony and the reception, he was able to take charge and still be nice about it. He was assertive, without being an ass, so i guess that makes him just ertive. Jon & Crystal also took great sunset photos at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Crystal caught several instances of us being our normal cute selves and just said "look up at me, guys". When we received a sneak peek of the photos, we agreed that the "look up at me, guys" pictures were some of our favorites. It was just us being dorks, but dressed a little nicer than usual. We were very surprised at how amazing the sneak peek of our photos looked and how quickly we received them (within a week). Kortni and I are very thankful for Jon, Crystal and the rest of the staff. So it has taken me awhile to write this review...it is long overdue as our wedding was last May. Jon Albiola and his crew were nothing short of amazing to work with. Jon has a way of catching such spontaneous special moments as well as having the ability to pose a non-photogenic person such as myself. I am beyond happy with our photos and the video of our wedding day. From the start of the day...with so many nerves and so many things going on Jon was able to make time stop for awhile. Whether is was during the pre-wedding photos, the couples photos or during the reception. During the couples session my husband and I were able to take some time and enjoy each other and Jon caught such beautiful moments between us. My favorite product from Albiola Photography and Videography was the video. Gone are the days of a tripod set-up in the back of the room. Jon was the photographer for our wedding and he was amazing to work with. We are so happy with the final product and his turn around time was SO FAST! Jon handled the videography for our wedding and did a fantastic job! I can't believe i forgot to write this review three years ago, but hopefully this will make up for lost time. When we priced out multiple vendors for our day, Jon had some of the best pricing as we wanted footage for our ceremony and reciting, plus we really loved his work. Jon is very fun to be around and has lots of positive energy which is important on a day which has the possibility of being filled with stress. When I got our wedding video, I basically cried because it captured so much love from our special day. Plus he did a Harlem Shake remix which made everyone laugh and was a special moment that wouldn't have happened without him. After your wedding all you have left are the memories, photographs and video. He didn't just capture the event, he captured our mood and facial expressions, which I thought told a great story. Jon has a unique ability to see different viewpoints through a lens. Subsequently, Jon and his colleague Ryan conducted a Trash the Dress photo session for us, which was done in our pool. They were very professional throughout the process and made us feel comfortable swimming in our wedding attire. We loved the pictures and continue to get many compliments! We were so impressed by how great our engagement photos in Hawaii turned out, that we hired Albiola Photography to fly out to shoot our wedding in Chicago. We definitely made the right choice to go with them. Despite Chicago's volatile weather of thunderstorms one minute to 95 degrees and humid the next, Jon and his team managed to capture beautiful shots as if weather was not an issue. I didn't think we needed a videographer for our wedding, but I'm really glad my wife convinced me to get one, and even happier with having Jon Albiola as the guy behind the camera. Within days of the wedding Jon put together an amazing teaser video that we could send to our friends and family, which was soon followed by an entire length video. Jon used really cool techniques such as timelapse video and multiple angles to give the video a unique perspective. His use of portable mics made all the speeches and vows clear as day. My fiance and I just did an engagement shoot with Albiola Photography and we are BEYOND in love with the photos. From the very first time I contacted Jon, he was prompt in returning all of my emails, answering all of my questions, and was more than flexible in making sure we got what we wanted on the day of our photo shoot. Best experience ever! Working with Albiola Photography was a wondeful, stress-free experience. Our photographer for our vow renewal ceremony was Chris Laistler, and he was absolutely amazing to work with! Let me give you folks a complete run down of my entire experience so you can truly feel how amazing this company is. First of all, I found this company through yelp. I visitited the Albiola website and was pleased with the sample photos and especially the pricing options. Please, if you have a budget to work with, let them know. They are willing to work with you! I shot an email over to them and in no time Jon Albiola returned my email, answered my questions, and was working with me to book exactly what I wanted. I was doing a 5 year vow renewal ceremony and wanted to make sure the moment was caputred perfectly since my husband and I had eloped 5 years ago. Jon was always very prompt in returning emails. I mean he would answer me the same day I emailed him, and as you all know, that is rare in business. I paid my deposit, and the balance wasn't due till a week before the ceremony (I think). Anyway, I wanted him to run the entire payment sooner than that so I could be done with that bill, and he went ahead and did so. Chris, our photographer assigned to us, then contacted us to let me know he was our photographer and to answer any questions or concerns we had. He told me he would be coming an hour early to the event to get familiar with the venue and what not. On the day of our event, our photographer was already there waiting for us! That was a very pleasant surprise. He was very joyful, had a wonderfully positive attitude, and seemed genuinely as excited and happy about taking our pictures as we were about having our picutes taken!! He did not rush us or make us feel uncomfortable in any way. He listened to my ideas for photos and also did some on his own which all came out BEAUTIFULLY!!! Perhaps the most amazing thing about my experience is that we got all of our photos, all edited to make it perfect, in less than a week after our event!! They were extremely helpful in answering my questions prior to the big day and also quick to respond, which was great as I was coordinating from the Mainland.
