Seeking Films is everything you could ever ask for in a wedding videography and photography team! My wife and I got married in late August 2022 at a venue called Lanikuhonua on Oahu. I personally have a passion for filming and editing videos, so I knew I wanted a team that also shared that passion and would put some love into capturing our wedding day. Trevor was AMAZING. We were one of those weddings that had to postpone for 2 years because of the friggin pandemic. But that did not slow Trevor's enthusiasm for us, he was ride or die for our wedding. He was so much fun on the wedding day, he brought the laughs, the fun, the excitement and most importantly his great eye for an incredible shot. We went with the Light Photo package which is 6hrs of coverage/2 photographers/photos edited to color/contrast/lighting. This was perfect for us because we didn't really want photos of us getting ready (like hair/mu or putting dresses on) so the timing worked great for us. They arrived at 2p and left around 8p. My wife and I had quite a few VERY specific staged photos (we wanted to match a lot of still images from our fav movies we love, with us and our bridal party and family members) that we wanted to get and Trevor and his wife (who was our other photographer on the day) made sure we got them all. When we originally told them this idea we had to do this for 8+ photos, they didn't flinch. They were excited and even planned out the timing of to get each shot. Trevor's wife even came with our spreadsheet printed out so everyone could see which poses to do which was BEYOND helpful. Trevor made sure the lenses he used would get the right angle/shot to match. And what was even cooler he was so fast with this part so wasn't like it wasted time or anything. Here is one example of Trevor going above and beyond: I wanted a BIG group photo of everyone at the wedding from a high up angle, normally you'd probably have to get a drone to do this, but Trevor made it happen by running up a big hilltop to get the shot. The photo turned out better than I expected and we can see EVERYONE that came to our wedding from such a cool vantage point. I didn't ONLY want our staged photos, after all I knew from seeing Seeking Films website that I wanted photos that Trevor wanted to take and capture through his talented eye. I was blown away with the results. What I also loved was that Trevor and his wife got amazing photos that I could never even thought of and things I will always want to remember. Like photos of all our guests pre-ceremony and pre-reception so we could see what they were doing when my wife and I were off getting hair/mu done or taking couples photos. Seeking Films was my first choice after seeing so many stunning photos on instagram, looking at who the photographer/videographer was, and seeing their name tagged. My fiancé and I aren't necessarily the most photogenic people, and were pretty worried about feeling awkward and uneasy in front of the camera. Before the shoot, communication with Trevor via email was seamless, and since we didn't have a place for our engagement photos, he suggested Halona Blowhole at sunrise. The team of Jack, Trevor, Rena and Yuyu at Seeking Films were an absolute pleasure to work with on both our wedding day, and the "adventure" session afterwards. The four were so incredibly warm and friendly (Trevor was especially funny) that we felt very at home and totally not awkward being in front of the cameras. We had selected Seeking Films to capture our wedding as the production quality of their work blew away any and all competition. Our wedding was a destination wedding and therefore having a beautiful set of videos (cinematic film + documentary edits of both the ceremony and reception) and photos to share with those who could not make the journey was essential to us. Notably, the team's integrity and honesty must be commended; they advised us to downgrade our package choice as it may have been a tad excessive, thus saving us some money. This review is long overdue. My husband and I had our dream wedding last September. Planning a destination wedding was a challenge, but Jack and his team were incredibly responsive, professional, and made us feel at ease throughout the process. On the actual wedding day, the team was such a joy to have around. They captured amazing moments and allowed our day to unfold naturally and authentically. I first found the company Seeking Films from The Knot website when looking for a photographer. Not only was their prices reasonable, but their style, quality of work, and attention to details was spot on. When I found out they were available on my wedding date, I had no choice but to book them right away for our endgame to shoot and wedding day. Trevor, our photographer was so easy to work with. He was responsive and accommodating towards any suggestions I may have. During our engagement photo shoot, Trevor and his wife Yuyu made it so comfortable for me and my now-husband that when trying to pose for shot, Trevor would make funny comments in order for us to relax. All I can say is..it made our pictures look BEAUTIFUL! As our wedding day approached, Covid hit and things got overwhelming. Trevor was so great to check on us and how we were doing and made rescheduling easy. As places started to open up, my now-husband and I decided to go through with the marriage. My fiancée and I chose Seeking Films to do our engagement photos because we absolutely loved their style of capturing and editing photos. Trevor took our engagement photos, and he was extremely personable, making us feel comfortable and excited our whole session. What can we say  - the work that Jack and his team created is out of this world. You can tell how much they care about their jobs and what they put out there. They are super communicative and easy to work with. Seeking Films didn't just do a great job covering every aspect of the ceremony and reception as it happened, they also had the vision to edit together a narrative that really captured the spirit and the magic of that day and our relationship. That was so important and special to us given how many of our friends and family were unable to attend. We were speechless at the quality of the videos: whether it's the cameras, lenses, or just their experienced eye, so many shots looked like they could be from a Hollywood movie. At first, I was on the edge about hiring a videographer because I am very picky with everything and could not find a vendor whose work I was extremely a fan of. After more than a decade of following wedding photographers and having worked with DSLRs for even longer, I knew I wasn't going to be interested in most photographers and their wedding shots. A lot of wedding photos end up being lovely portrait shots, but I wanted more. I didn't want the typical beach shots (despite being in Hawaii), and I was especially picky knowing how much I hate being photographed since I feel like I look stupid 99% of the time. I went through dozens of Hawaiian wedding photographer options and axed all of them almost immediately. Then I found I found Seeking Films. The website portfolio really showcased the vibes I was drawn to: moody filters, beautiful lighting, excellent framing, with touches of bright humour. Trevor, our photographer, knew exactly what I was looking for and even helped map out our our awkward request of splitting up our session over two days and different locations. He was a professional to the fullest during a time where anxieties and stress levels were running a bit high, which I am so grateful for. He knew exactly how to direct us, found us the best spots and best lighting, and basically helped make wedding photography magic. Months later, people I barely know come up to me and let me know that they are blown away by our beautiful wedding shots I posted on social media. I admit I was one of "those" brides who weren't sold on spending a lot of money on wedding photography. Seeking Films turned out to be one of the best decisions we made for our wedding and worth every penny. For starters, zero stress -- Trevor had excellent response rate and was super accommodating throughout initial booking, engagement session, and day of services. Then, Trevor and Yuyu not only took artistic and timeless photos (might I dare say museum worthy?!?), but they successfully captured our personalities/style and all of the candid moments that made our wedding day special. Finally, I don't consider myself photogenic or someone who is comfortable in the spotlight (aka I have horrible posture and rbf) but both Trevor and Yuyu made me feel confident and at ease even when I had pre-ceremony jitters.
