An adventure park for the family that includes a botanical garden, an aquarium, and a zoo. A trifecta in my opinion. My visit the other day was just for the botanical garden and the aquarium. I'm looking forward to return to go to the zoo on my next visit soon. read more

This is a good aquarium for its size. Good focus an regional fish and habitats, with crowd pleasing otters and sharks included. There's a fun underwater visitor path that takes us beneath a large aquarium. Kids went bonkers in there! The day I toured, there were many children groups in attendance.  They loved each exhibit, so long as the aquatic life was moving, of course! I heard laughing, screams, "wooooow"s, and "look at that!" over and over. There's a good message of recycling to help save our rivers and oceans, thereby saving the aquatic life. I really liked that. This aquarium is easily done under 2 hours without children and not stopping to eat in the Cafe. The $14.50 out of state admission was reasonable for this experience. read more

It's been awhile since I've been to the bio park. I wanna say the last time I went may have been pre Covid. Crazy to think how long ago that was. The bio park is very unique. With an amazing array of different style gardens housed between so much space it's a beautiful site especially when you reach the pond behind the Asian garden. I think my only disappointment was the fact that several sections were blocked off for construction. If it wasn't for that it would've been a much better experience. Although the aquarium is nice with plenty of fish to see I feel like you can easily walk through it in 10 minutes. Other than that it's a neat experience to see at least once. It's really unique to see the river of lights hosted at the bio park every year. Definitely recommend if you're looking for somewhere to explore with the kids or a date (when it's cooler). read more

Always a fun day when we visit the bio park. The workers and volunteers are always so friendly and have interesting stories to share. It was a nice break from the norm and was nice unplanned visit. This park was one of the highlights of our Albuquerque stay. The park features an aquarium, butterfly garden, insect building, and botanical gardens. Plan to spend several hours here- the park is large and there's a lot to see. This was one of my favorite botanical gardens I've visited so far. read more

Came here for 2014 River of Lights while in town visiting family. It was kind of amazing! The light displays were awesome and impressive. Plenty of little hot cocoa stands...and a few that offered some alcoholic add-ons :-) We had a great time! read more

It is a great place to go for an afternoon and enjoy the outdoors. Because it is filled with different plants, trees, and bushes each time you go it will be different. It is amazing the changes and seeing the new surprises. The one sad thing right now is that the butterfly house is being redone so no butterflies this year. read more

This made for such a fun day! We got the combo ticket with the aquarium, zoo, train, and botanical garden. It was amazing! Kept kids ages 10-21 busy and entertained. Everybody was happy and tired by the end of the day. read more

The original destination before we decided to grab a bite to eat. With full stomachs, what a great place to burn off a couple of calories before dessert. We were not disappointed. We've been to quite a few aquariums in cities boasting large exhibits including Monterey Bay Aquarium, Living Ocean @ Disney World's Epcot Park, Aquarium of the Pacific, Seattle Aquarium and Oregon Coast Aquarium. But these are close to an ocean that can provide plenty of local sea life. The ABQ aquarium has none of those nearby resources. Yet it displays a wide range of aquatic life both native to New Mexico and tropical seas. We enjoyed it and gained new knowledge and insight. There is a "petting" area - hours are limited so if this is a goal call in advance to find out what time that area will be open. One display has an overhead section, allowing fish to swim between sides. I could go on, but recommend a visit or two there. One bonus for NM residents or seniors - discounted entry fees. read more

Always a wonderful time. Renewed the Ranger Club Membership for the family. You can name up to five individuals and or have guests that allows you all access to the zoo, aquarium and botanical gardens. You get extra passes and it is a 14 month rather than 12 months worth. It really is a deal. Went to the zoo and stared at the chimpanzee baby. You can get some exercise in as well! Forgot to mention that your zoo membership is tax-deductible. My daughter and I love the bio park. One weekend we'll visit the zoo, the next we'll do the aquarium and botanical gardens. It's true the aquarium is a little small but still put together and maintained very well. The zoo is awesome for being such a small city. Lots of animals and lots of activities throughout the year. Summer is bonus season when some nice musical headliners make an appearance. The botanical gardens are great as well. Make time to see the butterfly pavilion and music during the summer. The kids will love the extra large ant farm. Be sure to check out the working farm that occasionally hosts some good music. My favorite part is the Japanese garden. The farm just finished their cider fest, some of the best, all natural cider you can get. Are you a local? It's worth it to buy a membership and support such a great attribute of our city. read more

The ABQ Biopark is a great space, and it's nice to have such a place in our fair Duke City. Kids love it, and there's enough to keep adults interested, too. The farm area is of particular note, as it sheds a little light on what life was like at the turn of the last century in the area. Also, animals. Who doesn't like cows? The Japanese area is another one of my faves. So zen, so peaceful. read more

We love going over there as much as we can! The scenery is breath taking n the kid zone so beautiful n artistic!

Our only reason for planning a visit to the Albuquerque Botanic Garden was the BUGarium included in the ticket price (my 12 year old son is obsessed with bugs), but it was all so cool that we ended up staying to see much more than originally planned. All the gardens and ponds were beautiful, but my youngest son especially enjoyed exploring the "fantasy garden" with its smoke-breathing leafy dragon sculpture, giant pumpkin, and passageways. My husband and I really loved the Mediterranean conservatory garden (which really did smell exactly like I remember Italian gardens smelling when I was abroad last summer).The BUGarium was also a huge hit, as my insect fanatic had a chance to see many bugs he had only read about or seen pictures of previously. read more

I took my wife nephew to the Albuquerque Biological Park. The zoo itself was really beautiful. It has a lot of trees and during this time of year, they are changing colors and looking really lovely. There are lots of shady benches and walkways to enjoy your day. I was a little upset because the bathrooms had no diaper changing stations in the Aquarium but that wasn't a big deal. The zoo closes at 6pm and the last train that takes you to the zoo part runs at 4:45 so you should visit the aquarium first. The aquarium is actually much smaller so you can knock it out quickly. Plus it gets pretty hot in the daytime so going to the aquarium when it's hot outside and visiting the zoo in the evening is nicer. Bring your kids too because it's really cool when they let you touch and feed some of the animals. What's really cool is the model train they have in the area. You can't beat the price either; it's incredibly cheap to get in. read more

This is a super fun and educational place. We spent hours at the aquarium and gardens and were never bored. In fact we were blown away with the number of fish tanks and exhibits and then by all the gorgeous and diverse gardens. It is full of surprises, from fantasy to trains to peaceful Japanese. Visited here while in town for a conference. The bio park is conveniently located just west of downtown. The botanical gardens with a bugarium (bug house) are beautiful in the spring. Bug exhibits were interesting with a great leaf cutter ant exhibit. The aquarium is a very nice standard aquarium. There are sharks and cuttlefish and colorful reef fish. The Zoo is modern with large animal exhibits and healthy looking animals. The grounds were meticulously groomed and looked great. All three parks provide a great safe outing for families. read more
