This is a good aquarium for its size. Good focus an regional fish and habitats, with crowd pleasing otters and sharks included. There's a fun underwater visitor path that takes us beneath a large aquarium. Kids went bonkers in there! The day I toured, there were many children groups in attendance.  They loved each exhibit, so long as the aquatic life was moving, of course! I heard laughing, screams, "wooooow"s, and "look at that!" over and over. There's a good message of recycling to help save our rivers and oceans, thereby saving the aquatic life. I really liked that. This aquarium is easily done under 2 hours without children and not stopping to eat in the Cafe. The $14.50 out of state admission was reasonable for this experience.

It's been awhile since I've been to the bio park. I wanna say the last time I went may have been pre Covid. Crazy to think how long ago that was. The bio park is very unique. With an amazing array of different style gardens housed between so much space it's a beautiful site especially when you reach the pond behind the Asian garden. I think my only disappointment was the fact that several sections were blocked off for construction. If it wasn't for that it would've been a much better experience. Although the aquarium is nice with plenty of fish to see I feel like you can easily walk through it in 10 minutes. Other than that it's a neat experience to see at least once. It's really unique to see the river of lights hosted at the bio park every year. Definitely recommend if you're looking for somewhere to explore with the kids or a date (when it's cooler).

There's a porcupine up there. Watch out below! Falling quills & poop! LOL you don't see that everyday!

Always a fun day when we visit the bio park. The workers and volunteers are always so friendly and have interesting stories to share. It was a nice break from the norm and was nice unplanned visit. We were glad there were tickets available for a family of 6 for a spontaneous visit. The scenery throughout is inspiring.

This park was one of the highlights of our Albuquerque stay. The park features an aquarium, butterfly garden, insect building, and botanical gardens. Plan to spend several hours here- the park is large and there's a lot to see. This was one of my favorite botanical gardens I've visited so far.

Came here for 2014 River of Lights while in town visiting family. It was kind of amazing! The light displays were awesome and impressive. Plenty of little hot cocoa stands...and a few that offered some alcoholic add-ons :-) We had a great time!

This made for such a fun day! We got the combo ticket with the aquarium, zoo, train, and botanical garden. It was amazing! Kept kids ages 10-21 busy and entertained. Everybody was happy and tired by the end of the day.

Beware of road construction on Central west bound. Hopefully, this situation has changed since I started this review.

I was a little upset because the bathrooms had no diaper changing stations in the Aquarium but that wasn't a big deal.

A birthday party would probably be a great success here, especially with supplemental kites or frisbees or other throwing things. The grassy field is sizable enough for kickball and other such terrain-sprawling sport. We had a compelling game of pine one ninja (think live-action fruit ninja, sub Dowel rods and pine cones). There's a quaint earthen walking path on the far side of the park that, I believe, leads to a pedestrian sidewalk passing over I40 and leading to the Winrock mall. There's also A bunch of well-maintained tennis courts, which I thought were for public use but appear to be restricted access... tennis club or something? I don't know for sure; better check with google on that. There's imposing chain link fences surrounding them, and while tunneling under may be difficult due to the asphalt and turf perimeter, you could probably climb them if you really wanted to play when the courts were closed. * Yelp does not condone criminal trespassing, and their views are not necessarily reflected in my satirical advice on circumventing restricted access. One star deducted because of bathroom access. There's one in that... tennis club?... building, but of course your bladder relief is then at the mercy of their hours of operation. Go play here. Just go pee first.

What I particularly love is that it has a very dog friendly vibe and I could take my dog for a walk steps from my home, knowing that it's a safe place for him and for me. The park is pretty clean. I think people who visit this park do a great job of cleaning up after themselves (minus a few dog poops that I saw around a park, which I hoped was due to unintentional unnotice of dog owners...and not intentionally leaving them there!). The park has both sand and grass area...they clean regularly (their trash is never full!) and provide free dog poop bags for those who forget to bring their own as well. The only drawback is that aside from a few big trees around a park, there's really not much shaded areas for you to hide from the heat. So, make sure you come when it's not 85F+ out. For me, since I live super close by...this temperature/no shade area isn't an issue for me. However, if you are walking from afar or driving here...maybe time it well so you or your loved ones (kids or dogs) don't get heat stroke!
