I did not want to touch the bed frame which I left in the storage unit to be thrown away. Everything that I could take out of the unit was taken out on Saturday. You are not allowed to take money from any account. Telephone calls were not returned. No one seemed to know what any of the other staff was doing. After driving across town we could not get into the storage unit. Very poor service. I hope no one Your very poor business practices will be reported to the authorities. If you take money from any account that will be reported to the authorities as well. I am appalled and shocked how you could remain in business with the poor business practices over a year of rental costs of $100 per month... As far as I am concerned you need to refund money back to Mr. Hanks for the rat and mouse infiltration, your lack of up keep and not sealing the unit. We are obviously very interested in keeping our stuff in good condition, safe and secure, and in a controlled climate. In comes Armored. We set up a smallish indoor storage area and started moving our stuff in. The manager of Armored was really helpful, accommodating not only my wife and I moving things in, but also our movers who we hired separately. He could have said something like "yeah, your unit is over there, go to town", but he didn't. He walked me and my movers up to the unit, offered up his carts and dollies for the move. Not only that but he helped us move the truck into place right behind his personal vehicle. After a couple hours and we were not sure of the capacity of our current storage unit to hold all our shi...stuff, we asked the manager if we could get a larger unit. Unfortunately, there were no larger units available, but the manager said that he would help us get an additional unit if we needed it and make us a good deal on it to boot. Very nice! We ended up not needing additional units, but it was so cool for the manager to work with us. Great space and great service. Thanks!

After this, it went downhill, with unconcerned and unresponsive management. Often, there was no one in the office when I needed someone and it has taken days for them to respond to phone messages and emails. This company's reputation for steep rate increases is totally justified. The base rate for my small, climate controlled unit was $89 in October 2021. As of January of 2026, the charge had increased to $160. Ouch! This last increase was enough to give me an incentive to find room for these items in my home and to let go of the storage unit. Enough is enough! Last but not least, someone broke into my unit in the summer of 2024. I was told by management that they had an idea who might have been responsible for this but they never followed up with the police and consequently no items were recovered. I had to file a complaint with the NM Insurance Commission to get reimbursed from CubeSmart's recommended insurance company for the items I could prove. I hope I will never need a storage unit again but in the unlikely event that I do, CubeSmart will not be high on my list.

I only need the place for 3-4 months. I think most storage people are temporary. Jerry and Cynthia were amazing. They asked me how long I needed the place. I told them the 3-4 months. They advised that they have 3 MONTH HALF OFF Specials and 6 MONTH half off specials. I rented two 10x10 units that would regularly be $250/month times 6, but they gave me each unit half price --- $63/month for 6 months. Needless to say I took advantage. Even though I just recently moved out, it was still the best deal that I got, and I shopped everywhere. Their 10x10 is $125/month, and you can get that half price for up to 6 months. This is the best kept secret. MAKE SURE YOU ASK THEM ABOUT THE SPECIALS. Let them know you are short term (6 months) and get the special and save money. Also I checked on their normal prices and they were still cheaper than the other places (Armored and Extra Space). If you need something short term -- less than a year, you should really check out their prices. If you only need storage for a short while, why pay full price? Take advantage of the discount and move out before the discount ends. They said their 3-6 month 1/2 off discount is an ongoing thing on available units. Check them out, it is good temporary solution.
