Coffee + art = big fan :) Love that this coffee shop supports local artists by showcasing and selling their work such a thoughtful touch. There's indoor seating spread across 2 cozy rooms (tables, booths, sofa), + outdoor seating with tables & chairs. It was raining & people were still out there. For the love of coffee and nature :D Staff were friendly and fast even with the crowd. My cortado was solid. They also offer breakfast sandwiches, croissants & pastries like coffee cake. Rustic vibes; brick walls; cool wall art; & merch for sale. One restroom. Parking lot + street parking available.

This is my favorite Salt Lake coffee spot. The Nina Simone and spicy dirty choco chai are my go-to orders. The hidden gem is the basil pesto roll with dipping sauce from Vosen's Bakery (local.)

First came the referral " you have got to stop by Alchemy " OK. Was I pleaseantly surprised, but the minute you walk through the front you know you're in for a quality experience. As a professional photographer the visual explosion is positive. Exciting. And the bakery goods pop out and candidly you are overwhelmed with the exciting and tempting amazing bake goods. And the prices are perfect. Next comes the barrista happily welcoming you...I mean it ...the smile and contact "arena " is wonderful. The mocha soon arrived and off to one of the best areas to really enjoy your coffee and atmosphere. Been back 3 times since. YES !!!!! Get it ?

Absolutely gorgeous place, staff was very kind and everything tasted delicious. One of the coolest places I've ever been to! Also there's a sticker thing and art from local artists you can buy! Some really cool and beautiful items there!

In February, stumbled in here. Soon quickly founds out, what a great little hidden cafe spot. Has charm & great chai tea. WiFi makes it nice to stay and get some work done.

I am OBSESSED with Alchemy!! I'm a digital nomad and this was my go-to spot to work, read, paint, etc. The vibes are chill, I love the music, locally featured art, and everyone was always so kind. Their breakfast sando is great and I already miss it. Their seasonal coffees are fun and I've never tried anything that I didn't like!

Cool vibe! This place has friendly staff and amazing wall decor. The coffee was so good. We had a cortado and a macchiato perfect to start the day. Processing reasonably.

Visited this place while on vacation and I can't stop thinking about it! I wish we had a coffee shop like this in SoCal. The Alternative vibe is present but not over done and the coffee is flavorful and smooth. The breakfast sandwich was to die for. 10/10 if I'm ever back in the area this is a must visit!

This is an awesome place for coffee! Has great drinks, pastries, and cool atmosphere. Great areas to get some work done with your laptop. The place interior looks cool.

Went in at 8am on a Sunday morning. There was one other person in the place besides me. The shop is not huge, but has a decent amount of cozy seating. I ordered a dirty chai with oat milk. It was around $7 including tip. The barista asked if I wanted the chai on the sweeter or spicier side which was appreciated. They had a variety of baked goods that looked great, although I did not try any of them. Parking in the lot is limited, but there is street parking as well. I had a great experience here and would highly recommend!

Alchemy is a classic coffee shop in SLC! Variety of specialty drinks to try and the avocado toast is yummy! My friend and I met here to work on things but the internet was unfortunately down. We enjoyed just having a moment to chat.

Alchemy Coffee was a great place to grab some coffee in the morning. We tried out some of their Spring 2024 specialties when we visited. My husband got the Spring Break which was a coconut and caramel latte and was really tasty with the perfect amount of sweetness. I got the May Flowers which was a matcha latte with violet and white mocha, but added in a shot of espresso since it originally didn't have any. It was a great matcha latte with good, strong flavor.

Their chickpea bao buns with chipotle aioli blew me away. It was the perfect level of spicy and very filling without making me feel heavy. It seemed actually nutritious, so no need for the guilt after (that I saved for the cinnamon roll dessert I picked up at the same time). The price was also very affordable. I love how much variety is available here and that it's all vegan. I always feel spoiled for choice, I never know what to get because it all looks so good. There's a decent amount of seating inside. The ladies at the shop are always very friendly. This is an amazing spot for a sweet treat or a quick meal. One of my top vegan spots in Salt Lake.

Their burritos and fries are my go-to favorites. The burritos are just top-notch, but I have a soft spot for their fries -- it's kind of an inside joke for me. Whenever I go out to eat with people, they always say, "Well, I know what El is having," because I always get fries with my food. But theirs are surprisingly amazing. Fries are usually just "fine" or "good," but theirs? They're very good. The owner is incredibly kind, and their baked goods are fantastic -- especially the peanut butter brownie, which I can't recommend enough. Their soft serve is also really good, and I'm excited to try some of their candy next time. I even took a non-vegan friend there, and he really enjoyed the food. Beyond the food, the team is so nice, and they have a little vegan market with some really cool products. I bought about half a pound of vegan bacon from them, and now I'm making all kinds of breakfast sandwiches at home. If you're in the area, whether you're vegan or not, Sweet Hazel is a must-visit. And if you can't stop by in person, their partner company Break Free Candy ships their sweets, which is awesome. Seriously, if you order anything from the menu, make it the peanut butter brownie. It's life-changing -- and I say that as a huge brownie lover.

There are so many great options on the menu, just like any diner you'll find in the world but you can eat with a conscience. This restaurant is truly terrific! I love the cool vibes on the inside and the seating arrangement! They have mocktails, cocktails, beer and just tons of amazing food! We had the pizza, fries, mashed potatoes, and everything was delicious! The service was top notch and I definitely would suggest that if you are in Utah, go to visit Vertical Diner! A Place That Fails on Every Level, Safety, Integrity, and Basic Care…read more I've eaten here multiple times and every visit left me, my friends and family feeling physically ill. Why? Because they use cheap low quality canola oil and it shows both on the palate and in the body. But the deeper issue isn't just what's in the food. It's what's rotting beneath the surface. A close friend of mine Brittney (17 and under age in this experience) reached out to the owner to explore a collaborative business opportunity. Instead of professionalism she was met with a shocking invitation to hot tub together. Completely inappropriate and wildly unprofessional. Even more disturbing are the longstanding sexual allegations against kitchen staff he's kept on for years. Employees are routinely fired often for things they didn't do while the owner claims surveillance cameras prove it. Yet those cameras never seem to catch actual wrongdoing. Convenient isn't it. Meanwhile he creates a culture of fear instability and dismissal. People are disposable. Boundaries are not respected whether in the kitchen or in conversation. This isn't just a bad dining experience. This is a pattern of neglect abuse of power and willful ignorance. I urge you support businesses that respect people, employees, customers and community. This is not one of them.

The vegan chicken…read morewas fantastic--easily one of the best I've had anywhere--and that alone makes me want to come back. But the rest of the experience was kind of a mixed bag. When I arrived, it seemed like the kitchen was understaffed. The person at the front was doing his best to take orders and cook at the same time, which I respect, but it did mean a long wait for food. Another table that ordered after me was served first, and when my food finally arrived, the biscuits were unfortunately very undercooked--pretty raw in the middle. I was starving, so I ate them anyway rather than wait even longer, but it was disappointing. The vegan cookie I got wasn't very good either--kind of dry and bland--but again, I ate it because I was really hungry. The biggest issue, though, was the group of five people loudly rehearsing a play at full volume right in the middle of the restaurant. I totally respect the arts and love that people are creating things--but the entire time, they were projecting their lines as loudly as possible. It was impossible to read or relax. I was quietly working on finalizing the publication of my novella, and even though I was doing something creative too, I managed to do it respectfully and silently from my seat. I really think a different venue--or at the very least, a lower volume--would have made a big difference for everyone else there. That said, I'd still be willing to give this place another shot. The food has a lot of potential, and I think with a little more structure and a quieter atmosphere, it could be a great spot.
