Would not recommend for laser hair removal. Four problems: - Does not work, and I mean ZERO effect. I've had this treatment done elsewhere dozens of times in the past and never had this problem. - When I expressed this concern to them, they dismissed it. When I expressed that I felt dismissed, they said "We're sorry you are feeling that your concerns were being dismissed". That is not a proper apology, and there was no compensation offered for the session that had zero effect. - In fact, that session price was DOUBLED because of the reasons I'll describe below. - Their pricing scheme is sketchy & scammy. The 6-session package rate is presented as 50% off, but it's actually the standard rate (in fact I was quoted almost 30% less than that amount at a different vendor), with the single-session price set at twice that amount. As a result, I was charged that inflated rate for a treatment that produced no results. When I signed up, I thought it was a harmless marketing gimmick, but it was used against me in the end. (I think they assume their customers are dumb and will be overjoyed to get 50% off of double the rate) Update: I went to that other vendor and actually got the result I had expected from this one. Save yourself the trouble and money and humiliation, just go somewhere else. --- 8/14 update: After I notified the company that I intended to dispute the charge and file consumer complaints, they responded by calling my communications "threatening, abusive, or aggressive," referred to my consumer complaints as "ongoing threats," and wrote, "If you wish to escalate this harassment further," they would report me to local authorities. I found this response bizarre, deeply unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. Threatening a customer with law enforcement for saying they intend to dispute a charge and file complaints with consumer-protection agencies is an extraordinary way for a medical practice to handle a billing dispute. read more

An overall wonderful experience. It started with a Facetime consultation with nurse Nancy. She was very warm and friendly and pleasant to talk to. Alchemy is located in a beautiful converted Victorian building. The ambience is very clean and bright, with beautiful decor. I was promptly greeted by the warm and friendly staff. My treatment (botox injections) today was given by Elizabeth. She was an absolute delight! Very cheery and friendly. After discussing my desired expectations, she gave me her professional feedback and I was very impressed with her detailed knowledge. She applied an ice cold patch against my skin before injecting, and I was pleasantly surprised at how painless it was! I am acquainted with medspas and visit them often. In the fall, I received an email about a "Special" that was being offered. I made an appointment and saw Nancy, who is lovely and knowledgeable. I would give them one star if it were not for her. Last month, I needed a touchup, so I called my go-to medspa and inquired about the cost. Unfortunately, I learned the pricing I received at Alchemy is no savings. I was overcharged $150. They justified it by the $40 lip gloss that was included and the skill of their staff. When checking out, I asked if any points were available for the treatment I received. The front desk said no. It was good for Aspire points, so I lost another $20. Do your homework. Love Karen and Aracelli, as they are great practitioners. I have been going to Alchemy for about 10 years, although Devon, the owner has never been very friendly. When I called to get a price on some filler in my mouth area, Devon informed me it would be 800.00 or 900.00 dollars. I asked how much product that would be, which was a reasonable question. Devon replied, "We don't charge by the amount of product, we charge by the area being treated." So, I was under the impression that they would treat the area and it would look noticeably better. When I got to my appointment, Karen mentioned that it would soften the lines but not make them disappear, which I accepted. I guess I should have asked how much more softened the lines would be and I did not specifically ask for what percentage improvement I would see. My bad. I would say the results showed a 10 percent improvement. I was never aware of how much product they had put in, but after a week, I can tell you the area showed little to no improvement. That is when I emailed them with photos of before and after shots, and explained that I thought the improvement was so small that I was hoping they could help solve the problem and make it more noticeable, or give me a refund. I would have even been happy with some kind of credit toward another service... Especially because I had been a long time client who had spent a lot of money there over the years. Their answer to that was "You need more product," and offered me 100 dollars off more product." I had already spent $750 ( Devon said iI was getting 100.00 of f as an educator discount), and now it was going to be a $1400.00 endeavor. They said they could not do anything else for me. I wasn't willing to take the chance for possibly another 10 percent of improvement. They also made me feel like I was the bad guy for even mentioning my dissatisfaction. Their last sentence to me was "We understand if more product is not in your budget." They took no responsibility for the only 10 percent improvement. It was my problem. I have also heard from other clients say that they will just charge your credit card and do not offer a receipt that states the amount of product used at the time of service. Alchemy have many great practitioners, but BUYER BEWARE. Be very specific about what exactly to expect, how much product you are getting, and what percentage of improvement you will see. Take your own before and after pictures as well. Frankly, Alchemy of Marin doesn't value their longtime and loyal customers. Or at least they did not value me. I went to a very popular Mehdi spa in San Francisco with a highly acclaimed dermatologist, and was deeply disappointed with the expensive non-results. I came to alchemy and saw RN Nancy Who gave me the most positive experience possible. She took so much time with me making sure I was not in pain and I knew exactly what she planned to do to address the area of my lips that needed improvement. I truly can't even list all of the things I love about Alchemy! From the moment you walk in the door to the time you leave, you'll be well taken care of. I am sorry to share that this business is practicing medical discrimination in regard to my personal medical history and private medical choices. I was scheduled for my first treatment with the Nurse Practitioner, Nancy after a phone consultation where I shared personal private medical information regarding my medical choice to not be vaccinated for Covid 19. Then a few days later, the week of my treatment, I was called by Karen, RN, who left a message my treatment was cancelled. When I called back multiple times to ask the reason for the cancellation the front office staff didn't know the reason. Finally, Karen called back and she assured me that it was not her personal decision but her medical director. She said that they had a policy change that day and due to my private medical history I was being cancelled. I feel deeply hurt, shocked, and have lost hope in sharing my private medical choices with those in the Aesthetic Medicine realm. Alchemy Marin was a referral from a dear friend and mentor who works in the Aesthetics Business, she spoke very highly of the practice. I felt so ashamed to inform her of their decision and the way they are choosing to create barriers to their services for a certain section of the population. I feel there is an undue pressure to have a shot to be able to participate in the community. It is deeply discouraging and feels discriminatory and a true loss of medical freedom in this free country of ours. I was really looking forward to meeting the lovely Nurse Practitioner I consulted with by phone. I had also shared with a mutual friend who lives in the Marin area and knows the practice well. I was embarrassed and sad to tell her that I have been cancelled. She was planning to meet me there at the office. If you have chosen to wait on the vaccine for health reasons, then I'm sorry to share this with you. Both vaccinated and unvaccinated are currently transmitting the virus, but this practice chooses to discriminate against only one of those. read more

When I told them about my skin concerns, I was given clear and well-informed guidance towards which treatment would suit me best.
