Quality furniture is not made for 400lbs. when I asked her for the highest quality fabric recliner that they sell she showed me a low back italian leather sectional stating how much better leather is and that I truly do not want fabric as fabric wears out quickly and is poor quality. This is when I left and looked on the internet for a store that could order me the 400lb theater seating that I am looking for.

We had been considering measuring…read moreourselves and ordering custom cabinets from IKEA but I am so glad I saw the Padavo store in Thousand Oaks and went in see what they had to say, what we ended up with is 100 times better. From the start Zazu was super helpful and knowledgeable. He understood us when we discussed the project and the finished cabinets are exactly what we wanted. The work was done incredibly well and looks very upscale and nice, a big step above other, cheaper furniture we have had in the past. It did take a while for the piece to be constructed, but once it was done the installation was done within a day. The carpenter, Sal, who did the initial measuring and then the installation was kind, neat and did an amazing job. A few months after the installation we damaged the counter top and Sal came and took the piece away, repaired it and reinstalled it like new. The price was fair and the piece is a great addition to our home. I would absolutely recommend Padavo for custom furniture and would use them in the future.

Both my husband and I fell in love with Japanese design and craftsmanship a few years ago on our first trip to Japan. Since then, we've been drawn to various Japanese shops and stores around LA. There are a couple great shops for housewares around southern California - but we never found a shop that carried Japanese made furniture. My husband happened upon Ookkuu's website while looking for lighting - and we were shocked to find that they carried a number of items by famous Japanese architects and industrial designers that we'd never imagined we'd find in the states. We're lucky to have this shop in South Pasadena - I don't think there's a shop like it elsewhere in the states. Their showroom is on the second floor of an office building, don't be fooled - they love walk-ins! The showroom is small - but they carry quite a few of the items from their website. It's amazing what they can fit in there. It's definitely worth a visit to see these pieces in person. They also have a few small items like glassware, incense, plates and paper lanterns. They get new pieces in pretty regularly - so it's nice to go back often. Can't say enough great things - we'll be back when we decide to make our next purchase!

It turned into an interesting way for them to know who I was before visiting, plus it let me preview all of the prices. It feels so wonderful to know that people who care so much about quality and functional design are actually within reach. ;)

Recently I put into consideration wondering if corporations hire employees that are seriously…read moredevoted to their job, or if they hire them just because they are in an employee crisis. Yesterday, I went to this location, and the selection of decoration was satisfying. When i went to pay for my items, the employee, Stephanie, was very blunt. I tapped my card, and forgot to put my pin, and she demanded i finish the process so I could receive my receipt. I also noticed that there was a decoration that someone had returned, and I ask Stephanie if she could hand me the decoration, and she made the manager hand me the item. When I declined the decoration, the manager politely took the item back. Shortly after, someone dropped a glass plate, and she, again, demanded they move out of the way so that she could clean up the shattered glass. Clearly, she was very impolite.

We drove to the RH Thousand Oaks store hoping to see a couple of pieces that looked like they would be a good fit from the photos posted online. On walking in we were greeted by Anna, a design consultant. She was extremely helpful in showing us the pieces that we had identified online. However, after we showed her a photograph of the room we will put it in, she came up with a couple of suggestions that were even better than the pieces we had come in to see. Yes, the furniture at restoration Hardware is on the pricey side. But the design and the quality of the pieces appear to be worth it.
