so grateful for the fine folks at guaranteed automotive…read more my wife, 7 week old baby, and puppy were driving from cincy to chicago after our first road trip as a family of 4. engine completely gave out on 65N. we were in a crisis, on the side of the interstate with semis speeding by. we got a tow to the nearest mechanic (20+ miles) - and it happened to be guaranteed automotive. they were busy as could be, but still managed to let us know that our catalytic converter went out. they needed to order the part and could get it fixed for us - but it'd be a couple days. the real problem was that it was purdue's move in weekend - and even though enterprise allowed me to book and check into a reservation online - not a single location had a rental car in all of lafayette. same issue with every rental company in the area. what a shame. we needed to get back to chicago bad, especially with a crying newborn. after several frustrating calls with enterprise and hurtz, we decided we'd just uber on home ($270) and come back for the car when it was ready. but out of nowhere, guaranteed auto offered us their little loaner and let us take it back to chicago for 3 days while our car was getting fixed. saved us some money and was very convenient, after a long stressful day. we're so appreciative for the kindness and efficiency we witnessed with guaranteed. i hope i never step foot in there again, but if you're reading this and you're broke down in the area - they'll get you right. only somewhat negative feedback from me is that they're closed on saturday and sunday - and waited to call until friday around closing time to let us know the car was ready for pickup. so had to wait a couple extra days to pickup, whereas if i knew it was going to be ready i could have been there friday afternoon. oh well. pretty good, not bad, can't complain. thanks y'all!

Oil change, air filter, and windshield wipers were all very reasonably priced. I had an appointment for 10 AM and was out by 11:30 AM on a busy morning it seemed. Nice little waiting area as well. Do Not Take Your Vehicle to Defouw Automotive!…read more Defouw has undoubtedly provided the most horrendous customer service experience we've ever encountered with any business. They were negligent in diagnosing and repairing the vehicle, even after being specifically told which part to check. They misdiagnosed the vehicle on multiple occasions and returned it with the assurance that it was running reliably, only for it to break down each time. There were multiple instances of them reading the wrong ticket for other vehicles and refusing to communicate effectively. Additionally, they were misogynistic, conspiratorial, and extremely rude. They replaced the wrong part and refused to replace the necessary part as specified by the General Motors recall. They claim that service and diagnostic were refused, when, in fact, they were the ones who refused to work with the customer, stating that since the vehicle wasn't purchased from them, they didn't care. Service advisors are more than happy to go out of their way to intimidate customers to avoid being held responsible for Defouw's inadequacy. Additionally, they claim that all the issues resulting from their negligence were pre-existing, despite having no record of these issues during any of their inspections or any record showing that service was refused. I cannot under-emphasize their lack of due diligence, care, concern for customer experience, or professionalism.

I happened to be driving past Weise at 3:00 pm. The shop looked clean and well maintained so I pulled in and spoke with Eric Weise. He and his technician were able to quickly diagnose that my rotors and pads both needed replacing. It was metal on metal. I thought I was going to need to schedule an appointment for the next day. But they then secured parts and started to work. By 5:00, it was done. Done. In two hours. Their prices were right in line with average prices posted on the web. I'm safe and sound again.
