Ok first the disclaimer, I Love ALDI! Even with all the weird. One register. Clogged aisles etc. also I was in a very good mood today so it is not that. I walk up to the register and put my groceries on the conveyor, when it is, my term cashier was a little odd as the dress of a heavy coat and a ski cap type hat and it's 2 September. I get up I say good morning to her and there's no response. OK whatever she rings me up and she's mumbling the whole time and I'm like excuse me. I don't understand and she's just not paying attention to me mumbling the whole time and I realize that she's talking on the phone she's wearing the ski cap to hide her earbuds and she's talking on the phone to someone which is quite irritating when you're trying to be waited on. As I proceeded to leave never told me my total was I had to read it off the screen as I proceeded to leave, I said thank you no response now I'm irritated. I turned over and say thank you slowly with a deep exaggeration no response of course you can't get a manager with these stores cause they're so strangely staffed but that's not my normal issue just wanna let people know that that's not the way you do it. read more

This Aldi is becoming my favorite location lately. I am obsessed with the romaine lettuce that they carry and was able to stocked up. I was happy to see that the price of eggs here was only $3.99 as opposed to other places that have them for over $5. read more

So I have seen these popping up all over Richmond and needed to check it out. I decided to pop by this one in Midlothian to see what all the hype was about. I am fascinated by these stores! So the first thing you will notice is they carry very few brand name items. Most of their items are brands that are similar to brand names but just a little bit different. They only carry 2-3 brands of each item and I believe the prices are a bit lower then most general grocery stores. The one thing I noticed right away was the produce section, this section had some really great deals! I wouldn't make this my weekly grocery store but to run in and pick up a few things absolutely or if you were buying in bulk you might find this place a little bit cheaper! read more

Finally ALDI has arrived! They have many great produce and products, can also find products from Germany (like yummy chocolate)... Will not be disappointed. Come with your own bag and a quarter for the cart-this is a no fuss place. My favorites are the chocolates & biscuits, yummy hummus, coffee, and fresh produce... You'll get what you need, the quality is great and it won't hurt your budget! read more

I used to shop at Aldis in Florida and I'm thrilled to see them popping up all over Richmond. I can't wait till the one in Hull Street opens up, in May 2017! Not only is the price of food low (because of all their clever money saving tricks, listed in other reviews) but most produce is organic. Plus they carry their brand of gluten free products. This is not the kind of store where you will find all that you need and want in one place. You will still have to make an additional trip to your regular Kroger or Wegmans, to complete your grocery list, but you will be happy to have stopped by here first, and you'll dance your way out, happy to have saved so much money. read more

Lean, mean German machine ... This grocery chain is kinda like a Dollar Store of groceries. Everywhere you see, cost efficient way of doing things. No non-sense operating hours, efficient use of space, maximum, efficient use of minimal employees where the cashiers sit on high chairs when working, presumably to reduce back and feet problems, thereby reducing medical time-off and work comp claims. Lot of stuff is open box display, with minimal shelving. Lots of European and Canadian made house brands. Some brand name stuff if comparable generic is not available; their prices are on par with other grocers. Pretty much all basic things that you need, without the gazillion choices you get at other bigger, fancier grocery stores. Usually, one brand name (not always available) and one or two generic stuff for each category of items. Ingenious cart management system that does not require employee effort. You put a quarter in the chain slot to free the cart for use. When done, you put the cart back and get a quarter back. If you leave the cart on the parking lot, someone else will surely take the cart in and get a quarter back later. I've never seen a cart left behind on the parking lot, ever. You can bring your own bag or pay a small fee for their paper or plastic bag. I have no shame carrying in Krogers or Martin's labeled grocery bag for my use. read more

Great store! Don't expect to find a huge store. Aldi's brand is as good as (sometimes better than) "Brand Name". Good selection of cheeses. Aldi's chicken and chops are the cleanest in town (as in free of fat). I'm picky so I remove all fat before I cook or freeze the meat. Aldi's Pork Country Ribs at $2.49/lb are the best in town, when stocked. Shop the circular as some items are only stocked when advertised. Can't beat the sale prices on their produce. On a side note: I don't recommend the Bremmer family frozen meals except for the Sheppard's pie. read more

I absolutely LOVE ALDI !! I tell everyone who will listen that they need to shop at Aldi stores. I save a ton of money, feel like I waste less food since I started shopping there and love their products. The Burman label condiments that I have tried are all great! We have tried the ketchup, pickles, mustard etc. The baking supplies are great too, chocolate chips, brown and white sugar, nuts all great ! My family loves the peanut butter, fruit snacks, applesauce, meats like ground beef and the whole chickens are sublime! I cannot sing the praises of this store loud enough, they have my heart and my dollars !! If you have not been yet, go today !!
