Back in my earlier days when I worked in the Hunterville Businss Park as a Chemist for one of the tenants, this was a place I would occasionally go to to pick up something to take home for dinner. Just married and Susan had not moved down yet so a number of very quiet dinners but not by choice. Occasionally dropped in to pick up something after Susan moved down from Pittsburgh but this was never our go to store for groceries and provisions. At that time, store impressed me as having a limited selection and very much a German store with its offering. Store appeared somewhat dated. Time moves forward and I have been to a number of other Aldi's since in Cornelius, Mooresville, Statesville and more recently, Denver when we moved here. It was after moving to Denver and shopping at Aldi's that I began to change my opinion and now I shop here several times a month. Still get the bulk of my produce from Publix, meat from Harris Teeter and dry goods from WalMart this presents a unique niche that I like. Went back over to Huntersville a couple of weeks ago and generally twice a year, they have events where they showcase German food items. This was the fall event and one of my favorites. (Remember that Aldi's and Trader Joes share a common heritage through Albrecht's in Germany) Normally I'll stock up on German cuts of meats, condiments such as Spicy Brown Mustard, Pastries, Spices etc (Note: Aldi's is the go-to place for Spices) Back in the old days, they did not take Amex but now they do. Still have to rent the carts for a quarter which is a distraction because I rarely carry change anymore. If you have a quarter, you will get it back and if you don't, look around because someone else will ultimately check in a cart and leave the quarter in it. Just play it forward and leave the quarter in the cart for the next person. They are like Costco with no bags at checkout but you can scarp a box on exiting. If you're looking for something with a European Feel with good value, this would be good place to check out. It was a big improvement from the first time I went years ago because it looks like the store has undergone at least one remodel and the product selection is better and the value is great. I am always able to save a bunch of money with my shop at ALDI. Today, I picked up the limit on steaks and ground beef because they're always cheaper than Publix and I think the quality is as good. Chicken breasts are also a good choice, but they're less expensive in Harris Teeter. Other stuff? Always inexpensive. Dairy, cheese, sliced meats, produce and the like. You will absolutely save money at ALDI. A couple of things. During the pandemic, they were skipping the rental on shopping carts but that's back now. You will need to bring a quarter for the shopping cart and you'll get that back when you return it. You'll also be bagging your own groceries so remember to bring your reusable bags or you can buy some from the shop. It's always possible that they may have some cardboard boxes available but not definite. Great shop and a friendly person who rang up my sale. I am a HUGE Aldi fan as it is my go-to grocery store. When I can go in, grab the items on my list, check out (fast cashiers, as always), and walk out of the store in less than 15 minutes is awesome. Today, I was probably in and out in less than 10. The shelves were partially empty in produce as I arrived shortly before closing at 8 PM. However, the items I needed were all in stock. I will continue to be an Aldi fan and it is my first choice, always! read more

Well I'm very frustrated because I just wrote an entire review and it deleted it. So here we go for ROUND TWO. This is by far the nicest ALDI in Charlotte. If you've never shopped at ALDI then you are missing out on some great deals. They have their own brand that's a lot of times exactly the same as major brands. A lot of the items taste exactly the same and the only way you can tell a difference is the packaging. You can do most of your everyday shopping at ALDI unless you are looking for something unusual. They have lots of ALDI finds that are items that are available for a limited time. I always try to check those out because they can have some really unique items. I recently tried a gyro kit that was delicious and was amazingly priced as well. You never know what you're going to find at ALDI so make sure you check it out. This store also has a large freezer and alcohol section. The winking owl wine isn't the best but for $2.95 a bottle you can't go wrong with giving it a try. Another unique thing about ALDI is that you need to have a quarter to use the shopping basket. So unless you plan on being able to carry your items through the store (which trust me you'll buy so much you won't be able) you need to bring a quarter. Don't worry, it's just a deposit. You get it back when you return the cart. read more

While I really like Aldi for some produce specials and deals on wine service can be slow. One checkout aisle, sometimes two are open both five deep with full carts and screaming children running about. read more

I hate that I'm even writing this but enough is enough. Most of the employees here are downright rude and seem miserable. I typically just put up with it, get what I need, and leave but after yesterday's visit I have to speak up. I approached an employee unpacking the shelves to ask if they had something, and she acted like I was disturbing her time while she had on her EarPods talking to someone on the phone. Then after another employee not even saying hello to me at checkout I walk out the doors and overheard ANOTHER employee complaining to a coworker about waiting on a customer for curbside pickup. This really sucks and makes me feel like they don't care about their customers at all. I'm sorry to leave such a bad review but I can't be the only one who notices this. It's bad! read more

Stopped into Aldi today. This was maybe my second time ever shopping at an Aldi's and I definitely think it's worth your time to check them out. I normally shop at Whole Foods and occasionally EarthFare because of their organic options. I am throughly impressed with the selection of organic produce at Aldi! I purchase a lot of produce for my family of 5 and that alone drives up our grocery bill, but the prices at Aldi are reasonable and saved me a least $25-$30 this week. Aldi will be my go to for produce from now on. They're definitely an excellent addition to Huntersville. read more

I actually LOVE Aldi and hate that I am writimg a negative review, BUT if it helps the get their act together and clean up their store it's worth my time. I have been going to Huntersville Aldi since it first opened and have saved a ton of money by shopping there. The past couple of months I've noticed the store getting run down and wondered if management changed. Today when I walked in the place smelled bad, the floors were FILTHY, rotten fruit and vegetables were everywhere ( apparently no one likes to clean the produce dept when it goes bad) and the check out lady acted like I was invisible. Totally bummed because now I'm going to have to drive 15 min farther to go to another Aldi that is managed better. read more

I'm into it! I had shopped at Aldi a few times like 7 years ago and I felt like I was going out of desperation as it was inexpensive but dumpy. I heard a few years back that Aldi was trying to re brand.... and I am impressed!!! This new location is really clean and great! The selection is wonderful ( I still had a few things to pick up at Harris Teeter) but for the price it seems great to me! FYI their selection of cheeses is fantastic and the price is righttttt on these! read more

So glad Huntersville now has its own ALDI! It's always clean, well stocked and the staff is always polite and helpful. Any shortcomings are just the nature of this type of retailer who offers temporary specials and seasonal items. For what they do, this ALDI does it extremely well. How come they can charge 29 cents for a yogurt but Food Lion charges a dollar. This country is the most overpriced BS country on the planet. Just look at the cost of medication. JOKE.
