They are reasonably priced and extremely delicious. The service is always prompt and friendly, and the ambience of the entire store is always squeaky clean. I love this Compare Foods location. They have so much to offer from their baked goods section, hot foods, fresh fish, wonderful selection of tropical produce. Yesterday I went and visited to get me two oxtail plates and I did come towards the closing time of the hot food bar so there was not a lot of options. I was OK with it because they had enough oxtail and I was grateful for. I got one plate of oxtails, white rice and plantains and my second plate was oxtails, Spanish rice, and plantains. They also have a fresh juice option behind the hot food bar, and all of their fresh juices are excellent. I love the mango and soursop. Those are my two favorite. I know it's not their problem that the self checkouts were broken but it sure as fuck ain't my problem that they had to bag my groceries. I was the guy in the beginning when the self checkout lines were installed saying damn I got a bag my own groceries now after my experience I'd rather bag my own groceries after the zero effort of customer service that I received today. There is no doubt that the cashier made me feel like I was an inconvenience that I was spending my hard earned money at a grocery store and had to have a actual human assist me in completing my purchase of groceries. I drive-by two other grocery stores to get to Food Lion, and the reason is not because of their prices, definitely not because of the location, I'm just a creature of habit and I genuinely enjoy going to this particular Food Lion in Huntersville but after today I can quickly change my reasoning for shopping at this location. All things being said it was a straight up disappointment and a shit show. One more thing while we're on the customer service subject. I don't mind cigarette smoke, I myself am not a smoker but would it be possible for employees to maybe not smoke right by the front where everybody walks in.
