We had an issue with our delivery order (the delivery person went to the wrong address and then returned the groceries to the store). We went into the location to see if they groceries were still bagged so we could easily pick them up. If they were not that would have been fine but when we asked the manager, he was dismissive, annoyed, and just kept shrugging at us. He told us that it was an Instant Cart issue and there was nothing he could do. I asked if he could at least check to see if it had been returned (which the delivery person said it had been) but he just shrugged at me. Terrible example of customer care. Aldi is a weekly go-to for us! They always have awesome seasonal "Aldi Finds" where you can get really great household supplies, gifts, and food that rotate on a weekly basis. I know my husband eagerly awaits *German Week* every year where they break out the schnitzel, the pretzels, and German chocolates (Aldi is a German company, so you can usually find imported German products here even during non-German week). Now, be warned, Aldi will never have every item on your list. It just doesn't work like that. It is funny because I will see the same people I just saw at Aldi at Meijer when I'm doing my grocery shopping. However, the deals and the items you *can* find at Aldi are so great I don't mind stopping at two grocery stores. They've also been adding more vegetarian/vegan items to their lineup, and I'm excited to see what they come out with next. It's Aldi. Inexpensive groceries. Decent produce including organic items l, gluten free, and alternative milks available. The best thing about Aldi is what is called Aldi Finds. These are special limited availability items that are sometimes brand name too. My favorites are the Deutsche Küche pork schnitzel that are available in the fall until winter depending on how quickly they sell out. Other favorites are the stainless steel trash double compartment trash can that rivals a brand name version. For the holiday seasons, season groceries are usually cheaper than the traditional big name grocery stores. Bring your own grocery bags because they are not available for free and you have to bag your own groceries. This allows cashiers to ring up customers pretty quick. Also, you need a quarter to use a grocery cart and you get it back when you turn in your cart. read more

I have been an Aldi shopper for years, you really can't beat the prices on a large portion of their items. I really get on kicks as a regular Aldis shopper and sometimes I go other places for my food needs. I work off of 46th and keystone and driving home each day I noticed that there was a store, so I decided to check it out. I have noticed that all aldi Indy stores have been updated or they have not. I needed to learn about this one. It seems like it's been updated, or at least as I know it has been. So many different options to choose from it's almost overwhelming. But I'm always happy with what I get. They have standard food Items and the a decent selection of organic options. I can always find what I need and then some. I have never found a grocery store that can beat ALDI prices. This is far from a generic label store. They feature name brands along with their lower priced, equally high quality labels. I will wait to get here for my fresh fruits and vegetables at a huge savings from neighboring supermarkets. Seasonal items such as gardening, grilling, holiday costumes and gifts are a bonus. Their pay per cart system keeps their parking lot cart free and organized, and their pay per bag policy encourages recycling. Avoid the store at the first of the month or when food stamps go out or you'll wait in line for a while. They usually have two registers open and friendly cashiers. read more

I will always be a fan of Aldi. Do not let the outside or inside of this grocery store fool you - it has some quality items. Aldi is fantastic for parties because they have a variety of delicious cheeses. The other day I bought a wheel of brie to bake and some french bread from Aldi's for much less than I would have spent at any other grocery store. Best part - you'd never be able to tell I spent less! Aldi's is terrific for Christmas candies and baked goods. They have a whole entire aisle dedicated to Christmas. Very poorly staffed. About 20 people in line today and many fresh items completely out of stock. I am a regular Aldi shopper, and this store is poorly run. Of the two employees working one was shopping for someone's curbside order and she was blocking aisles while having a personal phone conversation on speaker phone. The line for the single register stretched to the middle of the store. Aldi is normally a model of efficiency, but today it was a disaster. Shame on me for not visiting Aldi's sooner. Since relocating to the south Broad Ripple area, this location has been my primary grocery destination. Product selection is not always consistent, especially for more unique items, but I save so much money on basic everyday groceries that I can't begrudge being teased by the quick appearance and vanishing act of a jar of biscoff spread or brie. Favorite deals: frozen blueberries, fresh salsa, almond milk, & bags of apples. The check-out lines move pretty fast, so don't be overwhelmed by a deceptively long line. The store is typically clean, and the employees are polite, but efficient. I do have to visit Krogers or Pogue's for more specialty items, but still save money overall. If Aldi's stocked ginger root and kale, my Kroger visits would be even more minimized. Ginger root please! read more

I love this store even more, especially after the remodel. I was surprised that they didn't raise their prices after having! I do all my shopping at Aldi because of their low prices. since I've moved , I am a bit further from this location but will travel here because I love the prices as well as the appearance. if you haven't tried shopping here you definitely should come with your regular weekly or bi weekly grocery list and compare it to your normal shopping trip to see just the amount of money you save with equal or better quality of food. I love that they do no artificial color or dye in a lot of their products. They also offer a large variety of organic as well as gluten-free products for those with eating restrictions. So I have been hearing all this drama about Aldi... But people this is not your grand-mammas grocery store. Aldi has stepped their game up BIG TIME! They now offer their 'Simply Nature' organic brand which is so inexpensive in comparison to Whole Foods, Fresh Market and Trader Joes. This Aldi is very clean and their staff is quick when ringing up our food items. The store is smaller than most grocery stores so you can get in and get out in less than an hour. I am loving the h*ll out of some Aldi! This one seemed to have a better selection than a couple of the others, though it's all good. They pack a lot into these petite grocery meccas--I was totally stunned that they carried almond milk and some green juices and other stuff for vegetarians/ vegans. 49 cents for an avocado? T-his is my version of heaven. Now, I know they don't always have them and prices can fluctuate, but this beats the you-know-what out of chain grocery prices every day of the week and twice on Sunday! They carry a lot of knock off brands but they are usually superior to name brands. This Aldi is awesome! I've been to a few different ones in Indiana and this one seems to be the biggest. They have more products and now even sell organic items. If you have never been to an Aldi, here are a few good to knows: bring a quarter to rent a cart, bring your own shopping bags, if you are buying produce ask the cashier to not throw it in the cart. The cashiers are taught to check out quickly and will throw the items into the cart so be prepared. We weren't one time, and the cashier threw our peach into the cart which bruises it badly. read more

I could wander the Meijers and Krogers of the world aimlessly for hours. At those places, I feel brand-barded while also trying to find what's good for me at a decent price. Suddenly grocery shopping sounds kind of stressful. So, I was really excited when my friend Kate brought me to Aldi for the first time. It is a a much smaller store, no brand overload (but they do sell Goldfish! T-God) and prices are far more reasonable. For all you brand lovers, I get it! I am too, but the food is just as good and much cheaper, which is nice for a slim-wallet college kid like myself. Also, I really like that they encourage you to bring your own bags (aka you have to buy plastic bags if you don't have your own). Luckily, my friend let me borrow one of her bags for my first time. I usually have found everything I need from Aldi, but in the case that I don't, there is a Meijer right across the street where I can get anything else I need! Two pieces of advice from one newbie to another Aldi newbie: (1) Bring a quarter because you need it to unlock the shopping carts. My friend showed me how to do that the first time, but of course, I didn't have a quarter on me on my first solo trip. Now I am just going to keep a couple quarters in my car! (2) Check the expiration dates and plan accordingly. Maybe since the food is cheaper compared to other stores, the expiration dates are sooner. People commonly dismiss Aldi because it is a low cost grocer. This is a lack of understanding about their business model. Being a low cost grocer does not translate to quality goods. Aldi is the child of a German parent company and a sister to Trader Joes. Aldi does not have excess workers to push carts, answer questions, organize shelving, or run registers. Plan accordingly and expect to take a little longer than you would at a big box grocery store or mega store. They also don't offer you a free cart (you must rent it, but you get all your money back) or free bags for your groceries. You can bring your own bags or buy theirs for about $0.10/bag. You are also welcome to use empty boxes from their shelves to carry your goods. Aldi, like Trader Joes, doesn't have a large number of SKUs. They carry about 10% of what you would find at Walmart, and the selection constantly changes depending on what is available and what customers are buying. By not offering the luxuries mentioned above and keeping inventory low and constantly rotating, they are able to offer quality product at a significantly reduced price. I've purchased everything from meat to chicken to seafood at Aldi. Never had I had a problem with quality. I ALWAYS buy my nuts, oatmeal, fruits, and vegetables at Aldi. No one can come close to competing with them in price. The only downside to their business model is the risk of losing an item you love. My wife and I have fell victim several times to becoming addicted to an Aldi private label item just to have them pull it from the shelves after a month. It may be back. It may never be back. If you can tolerate the cons I've described above and/or you're interested in saving upwards of 50% on your grocery bill, give Aldi a try. You likely will become a customer for life. read more

I would give Aldi six stars if it were an option. That is how much I love and appreciate this store! If you're not already shopping at Aldi, you seriously need to give this place a chance. I think people are skeptical at times and weary that the quality may lack because it is a discount store that does not carry name brands. Do not let that fool you! The quality of Aldi food is honestly just as good as their name brand counterparts for 90% of the items they carry. My partner, who worked at Whole Foods for years, swears by Aldi now, and agrees that the quality is just as good as other brands. They have tons of organic options now too, on everything from peanut butter to produce. We are vegan, and can find all but a few items we are looking for on our weekly shopping trip to Aldi. The only things we can't find here are: 1. Specialty vegan items that we occasionally splurge on, like vegan meat and cheese, and ice cream. They DO carry vegan black bean and veggie burgers here, as well as almond and soy milk. 2. Ethnic foods, such as curry paste, coconut milk, rice noodles, or sauces. They DO have the very basic stuff, like soy sauce, refried beans, and taco shells. 3. Some special/more unique produce items that they don't carry such as, ginger root, kale, bok choy, etc. They have a great produce selection for the basics like potatoes, onions, lettuce, broccoli, corn, etc. Did I already mention how much I love Aldi? It is so nice having a grocery store close to home where we can get an entire weeks worth of groceries for $30-$40 for two adults. When we move downtown in a few months, we will gladly continue to make the trip to Aldi because it is well worth it. Their prices and quality of food cannot be beat. read more

I typically go there to stock up on cheap coffee beans, artisan lettuce and rice squares cereal. They also have great deals on spices ($1 each!), salsa, canned goods and produce ($1.49 for 10 pounds of potatoes!) and many other pantry items. Aldi shares the same parent company as Trader Joe's, so you're often getting TJ quality at even lower prices. What you lose in ambiance and amenities you more than make up for in savings. read more

Not sure how I've never reviewed this place before as this has become my go-to grocery stop now for the basics such as grains, fruits, veggies, and some dairy products. To be completely honest, I was a bit nervous when I first came here. Not because of its location or clientele, but because of the silly stereotypes that I had heard from here. But rest assured, this place eliminates all negative stereotypes and keeps the stereotype of affordable, good produce and food. I love the idea of this place: eliminate product costs (i.e. Plastic bags) to reduce the costs. It not only helps the environment but helps you save some extra $$ in the long run. Not only does this place have great produce and eggs and grains; they've also opened a huge lineup of organic and gluten free products so be on the lookout for them! I really wish they would put the organics and GF products in a separate section, but I understand the need to keep it all together. Things to be on the lookout for: - organic kale/spinach - brown rice and steel cut oatmeal - dark chocolate - THEIR WINE - eggs - frozen fruit - almond milk - fruits / veggies. Gawd, I love Aldi. This location is less than a mile from my house which is AWESOME. Seriously, I'm not sure there's much better than having an Aldi less than a mile from your house. Also, this location was recently remodeled, and while I don't think the inside seems much different, the outside definitely looks nicer which is a perk. Some people will say, "You can only buy certain things at Aldi's. Other stuff you need to stick to a regular grocery store for." I say, "Uh, no way. Shut your mouth. Aldi is perfect." And it really is. Okay, I'll concede juuuuuust a bit. They don't have everything, but they have most stuff. I buy really delicious cheeses here and they're so good. I also really enjoy their frozen pizzas and anything in their Fit and Active line. Produce is also excellent. I've never had anything but high quality from there. Also, they have different special buys each week. Sometimes that's a box of Special K (!!!!!), other times you can get an area floor rug for only $25 (SUPER !!!!!). You just never know what you're going to find there, but what you do know is that you're gonna get an awesome deal on it. The only thing that's a bit of a drag about Aldi's is that the aisles can get somewhat bottlenecked when it's really crowded... but this really isn't any different than any other grocery store. And I think the shopping experience at Aldi's is 10x better than any other grocery store. You get in and out quickly, and you only have limited options so you don't have to sit there comparing prices. Be sure to have a quarter handy for the carts, some reusable bags for your food and either cash or a debit card (they don't accept credit). After having one too many grocery bills at Marsh that made me say "Ouch!", I finally decided to listen to the rave reviews of Aldi I'd gotten from my friends who are budget minded like me. Let me say this - I will never shop anywhere else and I will not stop singing Aldi's praises. People from all walks of life shop here - and you'll definitely see a little bit of everything at this particular location. As Brittany S. says, the parking lot can be an interesting experience at times - go during the day if that scares you at all. I've had success with everything I've bought from Aldi - produce, dairy, breads, cheeses, etc. And of course, obviously the alcohol area is the bomb. (Think Trader Joe's wine selection but CHEAPER.) I'm very happy so far with my experiences at Aldi! I must admit, I used to be more of a Fresh Market/Trader Joes/Fresh Thyme type girl, but Aldi won me over. I still go to the other places for things I can't get at Aldi (like ginger root, yogi tea and fresh mint). But Aldi is now my main grocery shopping destination. With that said, I've only ever been to this location and I've heard some other locations have more variety. I wish I could give 3.5 stars because I do love this place. However, they seem to run out of a lot of their own brands pretty regularly. Things I love: They now accept Credit Cards! The Almond Milk is very smooth with good flavour, I've had luck with the imported cheese section, Probiotic Yogurt, their brand of Organic Snacks of all kinds, the Fiber Bars and the Fit & Active Brand. Free Range Ground Beef is a hit in chili and on the grill. Chicken Tenderloins are a breeze to cook and very moist, Brats are tasty, and the Beef cuts like the Rump Roasts and Shoulder are a dream in the Crock Pot. But I've not been fond of many of their pork items like the Bone-In Chops and Breakfast Sausage. I just know, I went to Aldi one day and purchased a ton of stuff, meat, cereal, fresh produce, salad, canned beans, tomato sauces, cheese, many organic items, on and on, I had a loooong receipt. When I got home I had a coupon book in the mail from a regional grocery store. I went and used all the coupons. I came back and had about 8 items on the receipt and it was the same price, within a few cents, of my pantry-stocking trip to Aldi. I'm interested in trying some of the other locations! read more

They take credit cards now too However, this location has been annoying me for 3 years now. The employees are kinda rude. They're always in a hurry to get on their break, and they kinda push you around when they need through. The customer base in here is also kinda lacking manners and politeness most times too... People ask for money in the parking lot and make you feel uncomfortable. Recently, I thought the store stunk, the vegetables looked gross, and the frozen food section looked like the apocalypse hit. They were out of everything. Now I'm all about businesses with bad days. But I've had this feeling for the last 5-10 visits. I've lived around here for 3 years now too. I love Aldi with all my heart. That may seem odd, and I don't honestly know why I love it so much, but I do. Maybe it's the German, streamlined layout, maybe the quality of their food, for sure the prices. The employees are also the best. Basically everything works in their favor. I wish desperately that I were organized enough to bring my own bags, but I usually end up buying a $.06 bag. I know Aldi can be intimidating, but give it a few tries before saying no. It's pretty fast paced, so keep that in mind. And if you're going to linger, just stay to the side of the isle, you should be safe there. I admittedly turned my nose up to Aldi initially, however after learning they were the parent company of the beloved Trader Joe's, my interest was peaked! I found you didn't have to sacrifice quality for lower prices. Bonus- Aldi does not permit GMOs in their own labeled products and have an incredible selection of organic products! The only reason I'm giving this spot a 4 is because their produce is touch and go at times and you have to hit it on the right Day of the week. Thanks to the Yelp reviews I came with couple of bags to carry the produce and I knew about paying the quarter to get the cart. I must also say the myth about being a low cost grocer is quite true. That being said I wouldn't return here for one BIG reason. They don't accept credit. I am not open to using my debit card since debit cards do not offer any consumer protection whatsoever in case of cyber attack. Plus the choice of items don't meet the standards of what I typically buy. Lastly items such as fruits are bundled here which is certainly more than what I need. So, so long Aldi. read more
