I've never been to a grocery store that is so consistently out of stock or stocked with rotting produce or proteins. I go 2 or 3 times a week and every item on my list is a toss up whether or not they will have it stocked.

Fresh Thyme Farmer's Market is a favorite grocery shopping source for us. We try to take advantage of items they have on sale checking their app prior to shopping. I took advantage Sunday of some of their advertised specials and a few items they had on clearance (mix & match candy by the pound, cool haus ice cream sandwiches). Wednesday is their ad crossover day and you can take advantage of two weeks of sales that day (prior week and current week). Coffee is available to purchase by the cup at a very reasonable price and I love their house blend.

They have Frontera brand tortilla chips, in three different varieties, so I'm sold. I haven't been able to find this brand of tortilla chips since moving to Indiana, so this makes me happy. What else makes me happy about Fresh Thyme in Broad Ripple? Well, I am happy that they sell pizza slices for $1.50. I am also happy that they offer free cups of water in their dining area. They have an indoor and an outdoor dining area, so that makes me happy, too. Other happy things: They have a crap-load of tea, including Republic of Tea. They sell candy in barrels. Candy! In barrels! They have a huge selection of yogurt. They sell a lot of different magazines. They offer a parking garage with multi levels, with an elevator for your convenience. The elevator in the garage is my favorite because it's just so ... so luxurious and ridiculous and 2017 to shop at a grocery store that has an elevator. I don't ever want to not shop at a grocery store that doesn't have an elevator, is what I am saying to you. There were a lot of samples around the store. Bread and cheese and whatnot. Oh, and they also have a nice selection of plants and flowers, including hanging baskets.

Have a party the 28th Dec, stopped in a few days ago an talked to the guy at the fish counter about scallops an how much they had in stock, would they have enough to meet my needs today. Totally cool guy an knowledgeable, friendly etc. Mind you that was first time in... So today the 27th Dec I stop in to pick up the scallops I need, on sale also for 9.99. Go to the seafood counter an wow, the guy was not knowledgeable, did not care, said he did not think he had more than the display case. Dude walk back to the freezer an you will find a 20lb case, oh Ill go look. Yep there it was, ok I need fifty.. He had zero interest in putting the effort in to counting them. I said that 5 lb bag should be about 50? He has no clue, where the other guy was confident about 50 or a bit more. Frustrated I took the 5lb bag an added 2lbs, its on sale an will cook extra. So huge disappointment.. turn off

Price listed, but rings up as $1.69/lbs

This farmers market was well organized and they had a lot of different vendors here. I did notice that you must get here early because by 11am some vendors are running out of items. There was this corn vendor and that line was so long but I did notice that he sold out by 11:30an. People were talking about how sweet the corn is from there. I more so came to the farmers market to come window shop but I did end up buying a lemonade and some ice cream. The lemonade was very refreshing and delicious. I was happy I bought the lemonade and the price was not bad at all. It was $7 for a nice size. I also ended up seeing the dog store at the event so of course I could not leave without buying my dog some dog treats which she really enjoyed them. I will definitely be coming back here to this market. It is in great location also.

The fresh corn line stayed long until the moment they sold out. I was thirsty and the lemonade from the popcorn and lemonade stand was tasty. I will definitely be back to provide them with repeat business. SPOILER ALERT: Overall, this was a great farmers' market, but there were way too many dogs. I also noticed several dogs relieving themselves mid-walk, right on the concrete, which I found pretty gross, especially with so much food around. Germs can easily spread in that environment. On top of that, I have a severe allergy to pet dander. Many people don't realize how this can affect others when they let their dogs wander instead of keeping them close on a leash. I grew up with dogs and know there are dog parks, but I wish people would leave their pets at home in the air conditioning when visiting places with food. This is the reason for a lower rating. Anyways, I will return early to get fresh fruit, corn, and the lemonade.

The market was festive with music playing and over 80 local vendors. Vendor tents are spread out with lots of space. A yoga class was offered near the amphitheater stage. We found a good mix of vendors with about a dozen selling local produce, my primary interest. The veggies looked fresh and I bought corn, dill and the most beautiful and freshest eggplants that I have ever seen. Prices were reasonable. Venders were selling everything from baked goods, local meats, fresh cut flowers and honey. There were some vendors selling craft and artisan items. Most notable to me was a vendor selling beautiful hand crafted leather items. We saw about a dozen food trucks selling breakfast items, coffee, smoothies, donuts and more. I thought the food trucks were on the expensive side but I only checked out a couple. Vendors were friendly and engaging for the most part. I like interacting with the local farm crowd. I'll be back.

Because of you meet all those requirements, you can visit Indianapolis' Original Farmers' Market and have a terrific time. Market Street is closed to vehicular traffic during the Farmers Market, so it gets transformed into a pedestrian mall. There must have been 50 vendors on both sides of the street. And what might those vendors sell? Probably every type of fruit and vegetable grown in the state of Indiana, plus spices, ciders, baked goods, oils, vinegars, eggs, meats, granola, wine, flowers, beef jerky, coffees, guacamole, salsa, tostadas, soap, cosmetics, honey, popcorn, lemonade, bakery goodies, egg rolls, pet foods, teas, coffee, and cocktail mixes. It's a gorgeous sensory overload of reds and oranges and yellows and greens as you see stall after stall of amazing looking produce. I picked up some great beef jerky and a bottle of cocktail mix from Tailored Toddies. This was one helluva great Farmers Market!
