Tip: If you forgot to bring reusable bags to this store, you can grab a cardboard box to put your groceries in. I haven't been to an ALDI in the States in eons. The last time I went to one was across the border, in Buffalo. I loved it. I don't know why I haven't been to one. When I stayed in Eagan, there was one a block away. Instead, I chose Hy-Vee because I used to shop at one in Rochester and it's a midwestern chain. From MSP Airport, I did a search for grocery stores near where I was staying and found this ALDI. I headed over here. It's in a plaza with a lot of parking. I parked my rental vehicle in an available spot and walked in. Those who grew up in Toronto may remember VALDI. I swear that ALDI got its business model from VALDI. It offers cheap items of good quality. The catch is that this place does not have bags for you to put your items in. Instead, either bring your own bags or use a cardboard box that's near the checkout area. I recall shopping at VALDI regularly often with my parents. Cans of Carnation evaporated milk come to mind as their major purchase. These days, my parents don't touch this stuff. I guess they overdid it back then... haha! I came here for drinks and fruit. I got the produce and pasta sections first. Lobster ravioli looked so good. If only I was staying in a hotel room with a kitchenette, I would have grabbed a package. The apple section was amazing. There were so many varieties in bags. I got a bag of pink ladies. I also discovered autumn crisp seedless grapes. They looked yummy. I got a box of them. I liked that the frozen foods were in shorter fridges. It was nice not reaching up to the sky to get items on the top shelf for a change. The frozen meatball varieties blew me away. It even had vegan ones. Impressive! The downside is that it doesn't have everything that a big grocery store has. I didn't see any cases of brand name pop, for instance. However, I did discover root beer prebiotic soda. I got a can to enjoy as I ran a few errands before checking in to the hotel. There are public washrooms. Nice! This place has humans at the checkout area. They were seated, which is nice when you're on a long shift. I got a nice man who took my items out of my cart and transferred them to another cart after he scanned them. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I carried my three items to my vehicle. Even when I'm travelling, I do have reusable bags with me. I put my items in one of them and continued to run some errands. The root beer was delicious. I'd get it again. The autumn crisp grapes were excellent. They were large, plump, and naturally sweet. I wish we had them here! I love pink ladies apples. They were huge, juicy, and crisp. The fruit is excellent here. Loved all the variety in this store--it almost feels bigger than other Aldi's that I've been to, so far. The produce looked fresh. The snacks were a plenty. The non-food and seasonal items were so fun to look through. I didn't run into any workers while there, I did spot a couple at registers but there's also a handful of self-check outs there so can't say anything about service there. This is quite a busy Aldi and the parking lot feels kind of hectic but seemed to have lots of space since it's in a strip mall. read more

Pierced face female cashier is uncooperative during a check out process.She needs to follow the request to put refrigerated fish and poultry aside,while placing items in the cart next to the register . Well I'm glad they are remodeling I guess but it would have been nice to know BEFORE getting to the store. Maps and website said this store was open but when you actually get there they have signs. Since Aldi has greatly increased their organic food options, I stop by to see what they've got. They're like Trader Joe's in that they don't believe that you have to lose a limb in order to buy organic produce. Aldi is a great store and they just need to improve the check-out experience. The lines can get long quickly and they always seem to be understaffed with cashiers. It's the one drawback, so I ensure that I've got time to stand in line when I visit. read more

Yes, Aldi was good--had great employees, but that has all changed. The really great workers: great attitudes, pleasant to speak with, and were very helpful. However, the great workers have all left, and now there are only those that are without any of these traits. One woman in particular, has quite an unfriendly attitude, very disrespectful, crude and does not know how to speak to the shoppers there: very little, if any, social skills. She reminds me of many dopes I have worked with: Arrogant and ignorant. In effect, too ignorant to understand how arrogant she acts, and too arrogant to understand how ignorant she is: they walk hand-in-hand and will always defend one another, always. And forever being in this state, of stupidity. I will be getting her name, and will be contacting Aldi corporation, and let them know, if they don't already, of her extremely poor workmanship. Seasoned Aldi shopper here, and annoyingly proud of it! Cannot recommend Aldi enough to people (see below for my Aldi overview). This location is only 5 minutes from us which is nice, but it's definitely smaller than the nicer suburban stand-alone buildings. I heard this was one of the first locations in MN: it is in located in a strip mall, so spacing is a little tight. They just remodeled in 2017, and expanded slightly, but we found selection is still not as great as other stores. That's the only reason I'm deducting a star. Otherwise the staff is always incredibly warm, HELPFUL, and patient which makes for a nice shopping experience (let's face it, we all would rather be doing something else, so every little bit counts!). Why I love Aldi: - INEXPENSIVE! That is reason enough to make the switch, folks. Seriously, your monthly bills will thank you. This is a common theme as you continue below. - Fast! I'm always amazed at how quickly I'm in and out of the store. I try to time my visits on off-peak hours, but even when I end up going at 2pm on a Saturday, I still get through a long line within 5 minutes with people in front of me and shopping carts full. They build their store around that concept (multiple bar codes on each product for fast checkout at the cashier). - Quality. At first I was really skeptical of Aldi because of the prices. But I must say, I'm amazed at their produce and now meat. Consistently good, if not great. - Organics: The amount of organic options is surprising for a small grocery store. They are making a point to switch to mostly organics and "natural" in their products in the coming years. They already have a big line of gluten-free products. - Cheese: Such a great variety of cheeses, including specialty cheeses that are on par with anything you would get at Whole Foods, at half the price (if not more). - Pizzas: We've succumbed to looking in their freezer section every week for their specialty frozen pizzas! Great variety (always changing) and nice to have even for parties or quick bites.j Paper products: The toilet paper matches the quality of Charmin at 60% of the price. - Misc: They always have seasonal shopping items, whether it be home and power tools, fitness gear (I've actually bought quality socks and undergarments that are better than Under Armour!), cooking utensils, gardening tools and supplies, holiday decorations.... It's always changing week to week, so you have to check the ads and be quick, but you can find really inexpensive alternatives to name brand items that match the quality. read more

i think that the smoked turkey's at aldi's are the beat that i ever had.the only priblume is that i can't seem to get them all year round at store #73.back home in up state ny we can get them when ever we won't them,but down here you are just told no,will get then when the store feel's like it.now i'm sorry but that's just not good enuff. read more
