cart entry with new big windows

Building: NEW! Just a block or two away from the old Highland location, the move allows for more natural sunlight with the big windows, bigger space, interior Caribou Coffee + upstairs bar called "The Mezz." Interior: clean, spacious, longer walk to find items but lay out is very similar to all other L&B's. Nice restrooms that are easy to find, elevators, Wells Fargo ATM near entryway & Bachman's flowers. Pricing / Sales: upscale (always has been). They do a great job of advertising big sale items and do the classic cart full of sale / discounted items (currently lots of holiday items at the entry) Products / Quality: 10/10. Upscale that has it all! I really appreciated the Probiotic Beverage section that exceeded my expectations carrying an abundance of options. Fruit is always fresh, meat cuts to a T, delectable desserts - chef's kiss! The hot bar section has really expanded to include multiple cuisine take home (or sit down) options such as a taco bar, Mediterranean, Asian and more. Service: Excellent! Cashiers are friendly and groceries are bagged by staff with the option for staff to bring the items to vehicles. Parking: underground and lots of spots connected to the store. Cons: when busy, it gets tight. Rating: 4 stars because of tighter parking (added anxiety to not get hit) and hard to find condiments by hot food (I was told the sweet and sour sauce was by the express check out vs. the main section where all other condiments were which was super confusing). I recommend making a day out of this grocery store and getting coffee, treat yourself to some floral arrangements, maybe enjoy a meal on-site and then pick up groceries. Not to mention, plenty of other Highland fun shops to stop that are in close proximity. Enjoy!

Exquisite customer service! The staff are warm, hard to find at the time I decided to shop (9:30p) particularly the cashier and customer attendant. There were floor associates that I heard check-in with other customers but I didn't have that experience. The two i mentioned earlier made the difference for sure. This location is very bright, most locations are fairly dim. This brand always amazes me by the sections they create, like the frozen bread section. This location has two entrances and what seems like the main entrance closes at 9p. I'd return just for for the amazing cashier and customer attendant that helped me to my car.

If bland had a taste, it would be the breakfast burrito here....

Stay away from their produce!!!! It will be rancid the day after you buy it! Pathetic! Costco produce lasts at least 3 weeks!

Too expensive...some items as much as 2 to 3 dollars more than at Target. Only use because of location.

Beautiful store and friendly staff. We love their bakery-fresh cranberry walnut bread and Prairie Farms dairy--we always find great deals.

I find that if I watch for sales I can get out of here for not much more than Cub or Rainbow, and the ambiance is so much nicer.

If that doesn't bother you then this is your place. The ambience is wonderful. The stores are beautiful. They have a Starbucks counter inside if you like coffee. They have quite a large deli. You can get an entire meal ready to go. I've tried these and they are quite nice. And they're not horribly priced. They have a large assortment of specialty items from pastries to candy to Kowalski branded just about anything. The service is spotty. Sometimes it's good and sometimes not so good. Sometimes you can stand at The deli counter for what seems forever while people go back-and-forth ignoring you. Other times they're very helpful. The parking lot is not very big compared to other stores so parking can be a problem. It just depends what time of day you go. They have an attached but separate liquor store for wines and spirits. It is a very nice shopping experience and they do have a lot of wonderful specialty items you won't find anywhere else. However, be prepared to pay the price. They've been around for something like 50 years so they must be doing something right.

The prices can get high on some items, but this motivates me to buy produce that is "in season" and take advantage of their extensive bulk section. I also really enjoy their selection of vitamins and personal care products. At checkout, you always have the option to "round up" to the nearest dollar, and your change is donated to a local organization. Last but not least: Anyone can shop at the co-op. However, you have the option to purchase a membership that has some perks. There is a one-time fee for a lifetime membership. As a member, I get coupons and special in-store deals.

When you charge this much for turkey, it should at least last until the sell by date. I also don't appreciate how when you purchase a smoothie, they pour massive amounts of it down the drain when it doesn't fit into your cup. At least set those out as samples. It is extremely wasteful.

My event was in 3 days so I assumed this would work. Wrong. By the second day more than half had withered and I removed them from the bouquet, and on the third day, only one was left that resembled a garden rose, so I returned them with the receipt, but the woman at the customer help counter told me they last up to 5 days - and they can wither by the third day, which they did. No replacement was offered. I was basically SOL. She was kind and of course she said she was sorry. So was I. Here is my recommendation - As beautiful as garden roses are, do not purchase them, unless you are fine with them possibly withering on the second day. They definitely do not last 7 days or fI've days, or even three.

What is also outdated is the selection. The produce section is very small and the frozen/unhealthy foods sections are very large. The deli selection is also small and overpriced, in my opinion. I live close by, so have stopped in here on numerous occasions to pick up just one thing, and they often do not have it. Today, it was pita chips. Fucking pita chips. But they had plenty of Lay's Southern Biscuits and Gravy-flavored chips (GROSS). I would rather just wait until the weekend and go into downtown St. Paul to shop at the farmer's market. While customer service here is usually friendly, speed and efficiency are not their strong points. There will be one checkout open and three or four employees just milling around, even if the line is several people long. Sell more produce and less packaged, processed crap!
