Can't beat Aldi's for groceries (along with other fun seasonal goodies) - for the prices, quality, and variety! Aldis always has the staples stocked and a variety of great seasonal items. This location is often busy and sometimes there is some produce that needs to be thrown that is bad or expired. Shelves are typically well stocked. I've seen some meats clearly gone bad from time to time as well. They recently got rid of over half their check out lanes for self check out which hasn't been bad but was just a surprise to see. I love my ALDIs! This is my typical home location. It's generally clean, organized, well-stocked. Usually busy. Friendly staff. It gets only 4 stars because the checkout situation can be nuts, especially when busy. Whoever designed it, had zero foresight in giving checkout customers a place to wait in line and keeping the main aisle open for other customers shopping. Instead, it's roll the dice on which line to get in, fight your way to the front, every man for himself! Other than that... it's great! read more

Let's just say in the last month we've been to Super Target, Hyvee, and one of the new Cubs in Blaine that looks like a Kowalski's. Aldi has stepped up and basically destroyed the grocery game. Completely. Game over. One caveat is that their fresh produce is still up and coming, but we belong to Harmony Valley CSA, so we're at an advantage. Everything else, from meat, to deli meats, to organic milk and eggs, to toiletries, bath, ziplocks, spices, frz pizzas, etc etc. Even napkins and batteries. You know that feeling when you want through Cub you're super careful because you know you might be getting hosed for a 400% margin on freaking ear drops? Lol not at Aldi. Just walk through, and throw anything you need into your cart, cause you know dang well that it's at least $1 off if not 50% off all the other places. Yep. We're big fans now. For the 5 things they don't carry we'll hit Trader Joe's or just splurge and go to the Co-op. The normal weekly grocery bill that runs around $110-125 at Super Target is $55 here. I have the dang picture to proof it. That's all folks. Check out the rest of the pictures if you're not convinced. Note: Aldi has their quirks. Here are tips: 1) bring a quarter for their carts, which you'll get back on the return trip. That's how they get you to return their carts so they don't have to have cart boys in the lot! 2) bring your own bags, or be prepared to buy them at the checkout lane for $0.10. Trust me the $0.40 you spend on bags you just saved like 10x that. So don't let that keep you from going; 3) ambience is like a small neighborhood store, not the big box. Think Trader Joe's but a little smaller; 4) produce is buy now eat now or within 3 days. Plan accordingly; 5) they do have a lot of organic selections. You just need to look at the price labels on the shelves; 6) organic produce selection is by season. So don't expect organic tomatoes in the winter. Customer service is important at this Aldi location-I was checking out yesterday when the woman ahead of me absconded with the checkout cart! So my nice cashier Briana scanned and bagged my items! Because there was no cart to place the scanned items, one item was scanned one extra time (Baby Bella Mushrooms for $ .89). When I came back today, I was met by my apologetic cashier (really-it wasn't her fault-it was the woman who stole the cart)...I was refunded the $.89 and got another carton of mushrooms since they were so fresh! read more

Nothing wrong with the grocery selection, the prices or the workers. However, when they started to mop the store it smelled like actually feces. I don't know what was happening, but the mop water they were spreading around the store smelled like raw sewage. It was absolutely disgusting. Maybe change the mop head, the water or the bucket. The smell made me gag. read more

Things have been consistently better lately, so this deserves at least a one star bump up. Stock levels have been better and more consistent, though not always with the produce, bread or canned water. Staff have been more friendly to us as well and on a more steady level as well. It's a good place for deals: start at Aldi for what you need, then branch out to other places (Lund's / Whole Foods / Fresh & Natural, etc.) for more specialized goods. read more

Is it just me or pretty much all the ALDI in the suburbs are always wayyyy niceer?! This ALDI is HUGE, especially the great selection in product compared to other ALDI! Plus this ALDI is actually pretty clean compared to others and most of the staff are friendly and helpful so far. The parking lot is pretty big too! But like other ALDI, don't forget to bring a quarter and your own bags. Plus, it's pretty much always busy every time I go (usually weekends or random week nights). read more

This is a big ass Aldi with efficient employees - no complaints at all here! I love cheap food! Some general Aldi-isms: - shopping carts cost a quarter (which you get back upon return) - there are no shopping baskets - BYOB: bring your own bag or buy a reusable one at the register - everything is super affordable - they now accept credit cards (before it was only debit/bank cards) - all of their branded products are free of synthetic colors, partially hydrogenated oils, and added MSG - Aldi is Trader Joe's sibling Another note: I'm all about generic consumerism and not buying into brand names. I recall it was publicly disclosed finding brand name and generic items come from the same manufacturers and the only difference is the label. And price, obvs. IDGAF if my frosted flakes have a tiger or a polar bear on the box, they taste great (even grrrrrreat!) and cost less. Again, this particular Aldi is larger in size and so has more offerings, from fresh produce to a meat section to canned goods and all the snacks. So yeah, so you soon. read more

I go to this aldi all the time. I love it. And have always used my EBT here. And i have more than enough on my EBT card. The young man told me there wasnt 12$ on it. I just walked across the street and checked my app on wifi and sure enough!! PLENTY of money on it. I walked to the Super America across the street and my EBT worked there. I suggest checking your systems. Not a happy customer to be wandering around in freezing weather and hungry. Not wasting my time to walk there anymore if my EBT wont work there. read more

OK When it comes to Grocery shopping I am a Cub and Lunds guy so when it came to ALDI I was Like "WHATEVER" ..... I WAS WRONG . I have been visiting this Columbia Heights location for the last several months and I am blown away with what I find. I been trying items hear and there now I am just about getting 80% of all my weekly items there. Reasons: 1) Produce that is so fresh. Lettuce like you can't find anywhere this fresh. Avocados that are so amazing. 2) Cheese, I was so skeptical... But again I was wrong the cheese and selection is amazing, quality is super... 3) Store is clean and well laded out to get in and out quick.. This is one of there more premier stores and its larger and more complete then other ALDI's I have been in before. 4) I think there brand items really are of exceptional quality NOT cheap impersonators like some generics can be. Bring your bags and keep a quarter handy for the cart you rent. All in all you can walk out of this store with the feeling you just did not get held up! I would like it if they had a better soda selection, and more fresh meats but the chicken breasts are awesome. Something I learned that maybe helpful if the price label above the item is red its a item that's not regularly stocked or is seasonal so get it on that trip cause it mite not be there next time. All time favorite grocery store. 1. Super affordable. 2. Great service. 3. Weird sense of community with shoppers. For those of you who haven't been to an ALDI before. You need a quarter to use a cart, you need to bring or buy bags, and you're not going to find the same variety as you would in other grocery stores. Annoys some people, super great for my anxiety. Who needs to choose between 26 bottles of ketchup anyway? The "Live GFree" gluten free brand of products is the best gluten free brand I've found (anywhere) to date. I come here every week and spend around $40-$60 on a wide variety of healthy food for the week for my boyfriend and myself. I recently learned how flavanols in dark chocolate are really good for you for a host of reasons. But not all brands make the mark. Aldi happens to carry one that does - Moser Roth. I was in this neighborhood and spotted Aldi and couldn't think of a better reason to go in. Going into any new store feels a bit disorienting to me. Aldi's has brand names that I had never encountered anywhere else. Sort of like the feeling at TJ's, which is not surprising because Aldi's and TJ's are owned by the same family trust. Anyway, the entry aisle is lined with chips, crackers, chocolate, etc. at very cheap prices. I found several kinds of Moser Roth and they were under $2. I also picked up Savoritz Wheat crackers because they were so cheap. And avocados - they were only a $1 each! So, what would I go back for? The Moser Roth dark and dark with chilli have been excellent. The firm-ish avocados went bad in 2 days - if I get them again I will plan to use them in a day. The Savoritz crackers are very crunchy and I want to like them but the crackers feel like dust in the mouth after a few chews. They might do better paired with cheese...maybe. The store does not accept credit cards. You pay to buy a bag if you do not carry your own. What I liked most is that cashiers have chairs to sit on. read more

I successfully avoided ALDI for a long time until my boyfriend sucked me in with promises of avocados for less than $.50. My biggest complaint has been that there's no way around having to go to another grocery store to pick up your other essentials, and considering grocery shopping usually occurs smack dab in the middle of my Sunday night freak out, I'm NOT HAVING IT. I've been hanging on to that argument for a long time. I've realized that that argument also came with a lot of not saving money. The reality is, the difference in price for so many of the products I regularly buy (milk, eggs, snacking veggies) is big enough the two stop thing doesn't really matter. I'm talking $1-1.50 on some products. Plus, the Supertarget is right across the way. Convenience enough to make the complainer in me shut up! The store is clean and the prices are ALWAYS RIGHT. Plus, they have queso fresco and Fage greek yogurt. Last week no Supertarget run was required! Be prepared though - you must bring your own bags and a quarter for the cart deposit. Chances are you'll also sit in line for a while before check out. read more

Can never go wrong with a local Aldi. This was one of the busiest locations I have ever seen but was definitely still manageable. The way they organize the store always makes me by more than intended, but nothing wrong with that because prices are good on almost everything. Some of my favorite things are their almond chocolate milk and sweet potato chips, way cheaper than the average grocery store. They even have a nice dairy and freezer section so I can avoid a trip to Walmart and go to a smaller store like here. I didn't see any beer and wine which they have in Michigan but that may be because I missed it or because ALDI doesn't carry those products in this area which is unfortunate because they're my favorite items based on price. Even with the large crowd, store was well stocked, prices clearly marked and everyone was friendly customer wise and employee wise. Will return again! read more

Went to return a item that I bought last night. Turned out to be the wrong item decided to take it back today. Walked in with the item under my arm while talking to the phone. Walked all the way around. Waited my turn in line, get to the cashier and she says you can return it because u stolen it. No I have a receipt for the item, I would like a refund. Manager Joe was called and I explain the issue. I was told to leave the store. I called the police (they watched the video of the door only) and said that it doesn't should the item in your hand so I was never given a refund nor the item back. Police advise to take to small claims court. But if I stole it why wasn't I arrested. Why should I have to sue for my money back for something that I bought. If my skin was a different color this would be a whole lot different. I will never shop here again. And make sure no one I know will either that's a promise.... read more

Everyone is friendly and helpful. The store is clean and produce is being turned over all the time. I love that there are foods from other parts of the world. Healthy food, low prices and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the cart system! Using a cart of $.25 and then getting your quarter back when I'm done using it instead of leaving it far away. I love it. Also, I get to talk to other people and sometimes just give my cart away and make someone smile for $.25. We bring our own bags instead of buying bags for a nickle. Also, sometimes I forget bags and put all the groceries in the car without a bag. Sometimes, they have empty boxes you can use for groceries. Totally worth it :) read more

I have been shopping at Aldi for so long that I forget that the Aldi brand food labels are not "Kraft, Country Hearth, General Mills" etc. I buy 90% of my groceries there and over 4 years have only came across a couple of things I felt were not very good. I continue to be impressed and have saved so much money. This store is clean and the workers are friendly and helpful. read more
