First I gotta admit I really like going to Aldi the prices and some of the items they have are pretty unique. But I use to hate coming to this one particular store. I am a fan of Aldi's as I used to live in Germany. My kids grew up on the German chocolate...which incidentally is very good and better than America Chocolate Im my opinion! Around Xmas time I ALWAYS go to an Aldi's to get their chocolates and their gluewein which is reminiscent for me of Munich. The black girl that be working at the register, she don't be knowing nothing. You can ask her a simple question and she does not have an answer for you. I came in today, I needed bags. I looked around didn't see any so I asked her about the bags, she said they didn't have any in stock, which made no sense how there is not any bag inside a grocery store or any boxes. After I checked out, I went to another register with another girl she gave me the bags I needed. I had to stand in line for another 15min just to get 7 bags and I had to pay out of my own pocket for it because this was order for delivery. She didn't bother to ask her co-worker or look around her, she just said they didn't have any. I wish I knew her name to out on here, but yeah. read more

I love Aldi. I knew it from Ireland when they started up in lots of small towns and put the fear of God (and capitalism) into the local supermarkets. They have a very basic core of supplies so don't go here thinking you are going to get your full week or month's shopping. I go there primarily for the canned beans, because where you pay upward of $1 for canned chick peas at Publix or Winn Dixie, here you pay $.60 cents. Snacks are good too and chocolate is very delicious. 99 cents for a bag of Haribo cola bottles...my childhood throwback! I was delighted to see one open up closer to me than the one in Pembroke Pines which I used to drive to once or twice a month to stock up. They have a basic stock of their everyday stuff but every so often they have a bulk of a special buy which changes weekly. The Saturday I was there they had infused olive oils for $2.99 for an 6oz bottle and a lot of specialty Italian pastas and sauces and various jars of roasted peppers to go with it. I noticed a selection of Gluten Free foods too. They also have kitchen gadgets and stuff you absolutely "can't" live without..you know, like that plug in pizza oven you have been coveting. Maybe next week it will be that pasta roller you can't live without. Veggies are hit and miss and not a huge selection & sometimes they have milk on sale for $1.99 a gallon. Bring a quarter to unlock your grocery cart and your reusable shopping bags and leave behind your brand loyalty and you WILL save big. read more

To be honest, after having a very terrible experience for the first time in Peter Piper Pizza, we went to Aldi to look around since we left earlier than we originally had planned. We got a few drinks that are actually worth getting and then went in line to pay for the drinks. The cashier, Michelle, remembered me and asked how I was doing along with noticing that it has been awhile since I have last been in that Aldi and even noticed the beard I had. That was very generous of her noticing along with asking how I am doing. While I was paying for the drinks, she noticed that I did not look like I was in a good mood [if you read my most recent Peter Piper Pizza review, you'd know why] and I wasn't. She said "smile", which actually made me smile for the first time that day and it was almost 1:30pm [I relooked on the receipt for the time while writing this review]. I didn't smile when I was home, when in the library printing out some work, and definitely not even a smile while in Peter Piper Pizza. Major shout out and thanks to cashier Michelle for making my day; she definitely deserves a raise. read more

This is a grocery store where they cut cost in many ways and then passing those savings off to the customers. Here you will find a lot essentials like milk, eggs, bread, etc. at better prices (usually). Besides these essentials, they carry many other things like juices, snacks, some meats, frozen stuff, etc. Many other things they sell come and go, so you will always find different things to buy. They also have a healthier-side brand. You can find lots of stuff of this brand from snacks to pastas to yogurts and cold cuts. Now they've also introduced a new line with lots of Gluten-free items. One thing that they are not that good on is on produce and meat departments. Their selections are very limited. Although, the steaks that they sell are really good high quality. Some of the things that I know off they save on so that the savings are passed on to the customers, and these are: 1. You need a quarter to unlock a grocery cart. The mentality, and this really works, is that most people will bring back the cart to get their quarter back. 2. You can choose to buy grocery bags at checkout, or bring your own. 3. You bag your own groceries. This keep the checkout lines moving fast. This also cost on the need of hiring extra cashiers. 4. They only accept bank cards (you know, using your pin number) instead of credit cards. This way the store doesn't pay credit card transaction fees. I'm sure there's more, but these are just some examples of how they keep their prices low. read more

Female store manager by the name of Angel is extremely rude. Apparently she gets offended if people speak Spanish to her, because she doesn't. I asked her for help in Spanish and she was rude in her reply that she didn't speak the language. When it was time to check out just her and another pleasant young man were available. She told me she was closed , so I went to the young mans lane. She then took two people after me. I don't know why her name is Angel, there's nothing Angelic about her. Also, STATING THE OBVIOUS we live in South Florida people speak Spanish here. read more

I finally visited Aldi today, was really excited with the low priced items available at the store. A lot of items were off brand and the prices for the items were pretty descent. The produce was very inexpensive, I purchased a pound of strawberries for only 99 cents. I was able to get chicken breast that were pretty huge for less than $2 a pack (total shocker). Aldi carries some name brand items, very few though. Forgot to mention that you need a quarter in order to obtain a shopping cart and since I wanted plastic bags for my groceries, I had to purchase them for an additional 11 cents a bag. Heads Up: Aldi only accepts debit credit cards and cash. I will return soon for some real cheap produce. Bring your own bags, if not you can purchase brown bags for five cents each, or plastic bags for 11 cents. Have a quarter available if you want a shopping cart. You can always find interesting things when shopping at Aldi's. read more

I decided to venture out to pick up some insanely cheap groceries far into the Northwestern abyss of Miami DADE county. After getting lost, I finally found it. Greeted with 2 dollar wine was definitely a hit. Scooped up some chocolate red wine too because heck that sounds like my type of wine. Moving along the endless crackers and nuts section came the produce. Some of it wasn't exactly fresh but for the most part it was fine. The strawberries were HUGE and I definitely stocked up. I wish there meats section was a bit more varied. The center of the store resembled a house goods store with a few miscellaneous items. I liked their jarred pesto sauce and for the price, you just can't beat it. Packing my groceries into those bags was a little difficult but I guess that's why they are so cheap. Make sure you bring a Quarter to retrieve your cart, you get it back at the end when you return it. I plan to come back here for those snacks that are a hit for little shindigs at the house. I ended up needing to go to Publix afterwards but the savings are definitely incomparable. read more

Aldis is a discount market that sells house brands. There is a very limited selection of goods, which is wonderful because it makes the store smaller. Only one type of grape jelly for example. It's so nice if you are the type of person who gets overwhelmed by a whole row of pastas, for example. ( Are you also classified as a "maximizer" from the book The Paradox of Choice?). Aldis sells staple items including produce and meats and paper goods. A pint of blueberries was $ 1.99 , bannana s were 39 cents a pound and a red and yellow pepper for $1. 99. Great deal! The aisles are wide and clean and the staff was very friendly. I have also been to the aldis on coral way. I was elbowed in the ribs there. This one is much less crowded with plenty of parking. Aldis is somehow related to trader joes, I think they are owned by two German brothers. This is cheap like el president but has the advantage of being spankling clean. Just remember to bring your own bag and a quarter to get a carrito/cart. read more
