Service was so slow in my lane that they had to open a third. We all got caught behind an elderly lady who grabbed a household item without a tag. It was a mission. I would have said forget it. Luckily the lane next to me was turning the people out. Where I was stuck they finally opened another lane and moved us over. Aggravating experience but those things happen sometimes. Will be back.

It looked like some of the potatoes were wet but we assumed it was just the packaging and placed it in the cart. We continued shopping and as we did, we noticed an offensive odor that permeated throughout the store. It smelled like dead mice or a very unpleasant bodily discharge. We exchanged several looks and continued shopping for approximately 30 minutes as we continued to be plagued by the smell. Upon checking out in the self-service area, we realized the smell was not in fact deceased rodents or another stench. It was in fact the rotting and now dripping bag of potatoes that we had carted around. This location offers the same carts for a quarter as they all do. There are multiple self-checkouts available with a few cashiers.

As with other Aldi's, you can go through a whole visit not interacting with a single employee, even at check out. The closest I had to employee interaction was a roomba-like vacuum beeping at me to get out of its way. (Not very customer-centered technology, huh?) The lack of employee interaction doesn't bother me too much, but it'd be nice for employees to say hello or ask if you need help when they inevitably pass by you in the store. Maybe that's too Midwestern a mindset? Anyway, one thing at local Aldi's that really stresses me out are the phones! I worked at a call center with the exact same ring, so every time I hear the phones, it really freaks me out. This isn't their fault obviously, BUT I shouldn't be able to hear clear ringing from across the store. No exaggeration, you could be anywhere in the store and hear this ringing clearly. I think there are enough employees at the front that there's no need to have the phones THAT loud. Recommendations: their prosciutto and goat cheese. This location sadly didn't have any of the honey goat cheese, but the garlic and herb is our favorite. These are great quality, reasonable prices, and an Aldi's staple.

I come here almost weekly for groceries and have to say it's probably my favorite grocery store in the Dublin area. One star off as occasionally there are slim pickings of produce and few checkout lanes open, but majority of the time it's as good of an experience as a grocery store can be lol!
