Good organization and nice berry picking; the restaurant is understaffed. The blueberry donuts are amazing!

While they don't have an indoor restroom, I was grateful to find they had a very clean port-a-potty. Because that was the very first thing my toddler asked to do! This place is adorable! Their little house where you get your basket and then pay is so sweet!! There are chairs out front by beautiful flowers (talk about perfect for a picture). They provide small wooden baskets that hold two empty cardboard pints. The nice boy at the counter explained what was growing where and we were on our way! We came at a time where blackberries and raspberries were available. I have to say that things were pretty picked over on this particular day - while the bushes were decently loaded with berries, most of them were green. While I enjoyed the hunt this provided, my toddler eventually lost interest. Go figure. We ended up with one pint of blackberries. We visited the raspberry bushes, but there were literally only a handful left. They'd run out over the weekend, so that why we visited on a Wednesday. So make sure you check their facebook page or call ahead in case they close early.

It's way out there, and there's not much signage, so keep your eyes peeled for the market. Check in there and get your baskets weighed (bring your own, or pay 25 cents apiece for plastic bags.) Then drive out to the field, way in the back. Plenty of good berries on Memorial Day weekend, and in maybe half an hour we got 4 pounds. Take them back to get weighed, and pay $2/pound. Or, you know, $5/quart for pre-picked... Baby K was able to pick some, Dada's knees and back held up for most of the time, and we didn't collapse from heat exhaustion. They only have a few other things in the farm market in the spring: jam, noodles, cold drinks. I assume there is a lot more in late summer. We had a good time, got lots of berries for not much money, and have plenty to eat and cook with till ours come in.

We first stopped in at the farmer's market, which is located on the corner and has its own parking lot. It had some fun features like classic big chairs for photos and the like. The market itself is packed with tons of produce, goodies, and souvenirs, both inside and outside, including different flavored seasonal donuts, which were delicious! A little bit further down the street is the section with classic autumnal farm fun activities: corn mazes (two - including a mini one for the kids), pick your own produce (apples were ready at the time of our visit, and we enjoyed perusing the orchard), barrel ride, zip line, play area, and apple cannons, which were a blast! A variety of snacks are available for purchase at the snack shop. This area has its own parking available. Staff was helpful and friendly, and we had a lot of fun exploring and enjoying everything Lynd Fruit Farm has to offer.

Tucked away on the north side of downtown, it's a cozy place that is more of a health food store than a soda fountain. Herbal tea, honey blends, handmade soap, kombucha, etc., but there is a bar and you can have a root beer, ginger ale, or other flavored pop made up right in front of you with simple syrup and seltzer. Service was very good, and it is clearly a family venture. They have an herb farm and have been going to farm markets. The space is relaxing and comfy. Some chairs and tables, some barstools. The root beer tasted homemade, which it is. Sassafras, honey, a bit of ginger, some other nicely balanced flavors. It's a bit steep at $3.50 for a small glass, but a nice splurge. I also got some soap for Sweetie, and it smells nice and is hefty for its size, so looks to be good quality. I'm sure I'll be back for some ginger ale or another root beer.
