I went to Aldi's to go shopping and experience was awesome they're always pretty nice in there but I love Alfi's it's a really good place to shop and they have those little side counters that have those things that you're not normally wanting to buy but it's they have good prices so I will be going back and I'm super excited to know that there's going to be one pretty soon closer to where I live. so I won't haveing to drive all the way over here to Rancho to go read more

What horrible customer service from Abel. I purchased an eco-friendly bag, the sign stated .89¢. I was charged $1.99. After I paid with a $5 bill I told Abel to help his other customers, I packed my groceries, delivered to my car and returned to further discuss this error. On my way back I opened my wallet and realized my change from my earlier transaction was .85¢ it should have been $2.85. So now I have two issues to discuss. When I returned Abel was defensive and told me the sign was turned around displaying the wrong price and when I mentioned the change error he huffed and said "I gave it to you". I explained I had 2 $1 bills and the $5 which I gave him, and I asked where is my chance? He said I don't know if I even gave it to you and that he would have to have his manager review the surveillance cameras. I said fine review the footage and waited. While I stood there waiting he asked if I wanted to return the bag, I said sure, go my car and unpack my groceries. He then asked if I wanted the price difference... Yes, that's why I returned-wasn't he a part of this conversation? And then when I asked for the manager to review the footage he said "$2 is not worth it". I felt humiliated explaining when you're on a tight budget even $2 can make a difference. But you know what Abel, correcting an error caused by you was not worth losing a long time customer. I'll pay that $2 to be treated with respect and appreciation... There are other grocery stores in the area that will appreciate a loyal customer. ... You're not worth it. read more

love this store in Rancho Cucamonga! We always come here to get fruits, veggies, frozen items, milk, butter, etc! they are the cheapest grocery store, and mostly organic. the quality is there! they have nice household items, too! highly recommended if you wanna save money. read more

I love Aldi for multiple reasons! It is a quick stop for a lot of things you might need. They also have multiple gluten free options (bread, baked goods, snacks, etc.). They also offer a variety of household items (detergent, blankets, succulent plants, etc.) in addition to the obvious grocery items. It reminds me of a blend of a mini Fresh & Easy/Trader Joe's and a mini Target. The only downfall is that 1. they only have a few aisles with a very limited variety of options within the products they carry, so you will not be able to find "everything" you need, 2. you have to pay .25 cents to rent a cart (note: you get your quarter back once you return the cart) 3. you must bag your own groceries. On the upside, those negative things I listed do lower the overall cost of the products they offer so I will return. read more

Good lord, people will find anything to whine about and rationalize poor ratings and reviews. Whiney, whiney, whiney. My first experience with Aldi was in Tennessee. I was a kid at the time, but that Aldi was okay. Some of the stuff was kinda whatever, but my mom shopped there for the prices since we didn't have a lot of money. So when Aldi opened up here in Cali, I was already familiar with the concept, especially with the carts. I popped on in and was rather impressed. Much cleaner and set up nicer than the one I visited as a kid with the parentals. The layout of the store is clean and well organized. The employees have always been really nice and friendly. The Aldi brands have improved exponentially and some of the prices end up being lower than advertised, which is a perk. I made a few trips for eggs because they were 59 cents and then 79 cents at a later date (then advertised at 79 cents and 99 cents). That ish is just outstanding, tbh, and just what I needed for all my holiday baking/cooking. The produce, dairy, and meat options are really impressive, price wise. I got a 3-4lb roast for 8 bucks and it wasn't too shabby. A pound block of cheese is $2-$2.50, as well as some other "gourmet" cheeses, if I remember correctly,. My only gripe is that I wish they offered low fat versions of their basic cheeses (cheddar, colby jack, etc). I loved that I was able to get a 5lb bag of baking potatoes for... I think $1.49? Most bagged potatoes are just blah and those proclaiming to be baking potatoes are small. These bags were awesome and I was so happy since I've just given up and get the bulk bakers at Sprouts. At least I can pick what sizes I want, but the pricing rarely matches up to the pricing of bagged potatoes most of the time. So props to Aldi for offering this option! Other things I noticed that were much lower than most grocery stores, even on sale days- avocados, bagged spinach, bagged salad mixes, packaged mushrooms, and so on. So far, most of my purchases have been dairy, some meat, and produce. I have made mental notes of what they carry and the prices compared to most grocery stores and they do a pretty damned good job beating most at their prices. Can you do ALL of your shopping here? Maybe not, depending on your household needs. Personally, I end up hitting up various stores for things that I need and don't tend to rely on any one store for ALL of my shopping needs. Most of my errands for groceries include stores that are all within my route of errands for the day, so it's easy to justify going to various places without wasting the gas. Aldi is now one of those stores that falls into my usual errand route, and I may just end up trying them first before going anywhere else for something they may not carry. Which, for this area, isn't too bad since there's a Target and 99 cents store down the way. Very impressed with the significant changes to the brand since I was first introduced to them and would absolutely recommend for anyone trying to make their dollar stretch more for groceries as well as some really basic household supplies. Word to the wise- don't go in thinking you won't need a cart. I've made that mistake twice now and trying to get your stuff all bagged and taken care of at the register gets really tricky and inefficient. The cart not only helps you when you realize how much you can't carry, but it makes the checkout/bagging process easier as well. read more

I'm updating my review. The food was all great and at my previous review there was screaming brats and a grouchy cashier. This review is better. Bought different groceries to try since all of my other ones were good last visit and the cashier was super nice. Even after my blackberries spilled. The only thing I don't care for is u really don't have time to put your groceries in bags so it's easier to just take it to the car and put it in your bags then. read more

First off, your cart doesnt COST a quarter. You get it back when you return the cart. That out of the way, I look at this as a grocery store version of TJs. Not the place to come for fru fru stuff like TJs, but the basics. Yes, they have some gluten free stuff, some organic stuff, but most of it are the mainstream basics. Everything I've bought here was cheaper than a regular store. Sometimes they have specials, special purchases at a great price....I bought a nice scarf, some very basic tools, even some xmas decorations this way. They are not "buy it for life quality" and the price reflects it. Be prepared to bag your own groceries, and return your cart. You'll get rewarded with serious savings. That is all, folks. Troed it for the first time. Very impressed. It had some brands i've never heard if, but I think its a German owned franchise. Lots of European cheeses. The grocery cart system is, oh so Continental: you put a quarter in the cart you want and that release it from the security chain. When you return it, plug the lock back into the chain, and your quarter is returned. Prices were average to slightly below average. It reminds me of Fresh and Easy. read more

As someone who moved to SoCal from the Midwest, Aldi's was a staple for my family when it came to cheap product. As they introduced their Live G-Free brand, even more so, since I have Celiac. I was so happy to find out they have a location so close to where I live now. This location is very bright and spacious, with everything laid out very neatly. It's always clean, even though most of my visits have been in the last 5-10 minutes before closing when there's minimal staff on the job. The cashiers are friendly, always chatting with the customer before us and with us. If you're on a budget, Aldi's is the best grocery store in my opinion. And especially if you're on a budget and dealing with dietary restrictions. Gluten free items that I'd pay $4-7 for at other stores are routinely less than half that, and they even still go on sale! I recently went in and saw that cookies that were normally ~$2-3 were on sale for $.99 and $1.50! read more

I've heard so many good things about Aldi from family and friends so I was excited to see one near our new house. I've come twice in the last three weeks and I don't understand why people love it so much. The food is definitely cheaper than most grocery stores but the customer service is awful. Both cashier that I've encountered were exceptionally unfriendly. It was pretty clear that they hated their job and their attitudes were unpleasant. I asked the cashier this morning how his day was and he said "good" and that's all he said my entire transaction. Today was my first time visiting this chain store. The only plus is Prices are good parking was good Store is very clean and maintained. It obviously has less selection &brands then your average VONS or stator bros. I'm not a fan of paying .25 to use a cart. I was not aware so when I got there with my 2yr old I had to make a purchase and get cash back because all I had was .15 so that was super inconvinice. Also the minimum amount for cash back was $10 most market stores I've been too give me the option for much less. My over all experience was 'meh' the people that work there look unhappy. Minimal eye contact. I get it your just a cashier I don't expect amazing Customer service but you don't have to roll your eyes when you see that I do have quite a few items to purchase. I won't be coming back I spent about the same amount when I go to Stator brothers. They are much nicer there they load my items in my bags and help me to my car. And oh yes the carts are free to use. So I had a weird experience at the Aldi in Rancho Cucamonga. A few days before that I had been to the Aldi off Sierra off the 15 freeway and I had seen a neck heating pad, two of them actually and I didn't buy it but a couple days later decided I wanted to buy it so I was actually at the Aldi in Rancho Cucamonga and asked the manager there if they had the neck heating pad and he went on this whole long story about how his wife wanted one and he didn't get it and then they sold out and she was upset cuz she wanted one and I said well the one on Sierra had two of them the other day maybe you could call there for me and see if they have one left and I'll go there and get it myself and he said okay sure so he went to call them he came back and said to me oh no they're all gone I'm like well two of them got sold already he's like yeah I'm in the same boat as you my wife wanted one and I can't get her one and I checked all the other stores around they don't have them either and I said okay I guess you snooze you lose right and he said yeah we're in the same position I said okay but for some reason I didn't trust him I don't know why so I drove myself to the Aldi off the 15 and guess what lo and behold I walk up by the registers and there is the heating pad that I wanted and obviously his wife wanted sitting there right by the cashier like they were holding it for someone. I can only assume that he called there and they did have one left and he asked them to hold it for him which I don't know why I just had a feeling that that happened. So I went around the other side of the register and when the cashier wasn't looking I picked it up and took it off the checkstand and then went in line and paid for it. So just a little message to that jerk at the Rancho store, we're NOT in the same boat cuz I actually got the heating pad and you being a SNAKE that you are got your KARMA I hope you drove all the way there for nothing jerk read more

Not enough readily appearent vegan meals or clearly labeled vegan items. It was all to easy to find gluten free or other allergy labeled items... I guess Aldi's overseas counterparts are ahead of the curve and the state side markets havent caught up on this "vegan lifestyle" yet... Couldnt find any hygiene products that were labeled "cruelty-free" but to be honest i had thrown in the towel on my compassion based shopping choices with the food label issue. So i didnt digg to deep into all the various toiletry products. Did notice they had Ecos laundry detergent and some other green cleaners. Big pro on the list and a great price Little dissapointed that some veggies are only sold in bulk. Great if i own a restaurant to get a bag of 5 onions but i only needed 1. Ended up going to Trader joes up Haven right after just to have some Microwave meals amd tofu spring rolls on hand for snacks and work lunches read more

Don't think I'll be going here again due to the poor customer service. First of all they make you pay a quarter for carts, and if you're like me and use cards not cash than it's very inconvenient. Here's a tip, I noticed on my way out that there are plenty of random stray carts outside may as well grab one of those. Then when you pay and buy bags don't expect them to bag the items for you, no matter how few or many groceries you have. The checker just rolled my cart to the end so I can bag myself. Wasn't very nice either. Not a very fun thing to have to do after working and being on my feet all day with a back injury. Literally had to go there right after work in my scrubs, only to be treated with poor customer service. I would almost understand if their prices are really good but they're no better on prices than any place else. read more

Love this place! I've been here many times and parking is always good and I like that there are no shopping carts roaming and taking up the parking spaces and dinging your car. (those who complain about taking back the carts are most likely the ones who leave them wherever at other places) Employees are always friendly and stocking. Cashiers are fast which allows lines to flow quickly. Yes, you bag your groceries, no big deal. PRICES are LOW on most items and the quality and taste are good! I like the idea of Aldi , just not sure how well it will do here. First off the brands are not the usual brands, something which I happen to love but most people may be turned off by not finding their usual brands. Carts are .25 cents to " borrow " one. I like that there are no carts being hurled at parked cars because people want their quarter back and they put the cart back in its place. That alone is a five star in my book! I'm so tired of having a nice car and yet having it look like a junkyard work in progress because people have zero manners. Now to the reason I went with a three . The cashiers here are AWFUL and I've gone more than once so I can't single one out. My disdain for them is equal, no discrimination here ! I have these big grocery bags that clasp to the sides of the cart. Well I know they don't bag groceries here but this one cashier went out of her way to make sure none of the items landed in the bag, which was crazy because it was actually more work for her lol! She had to arch at a weird angle to put the items outside the bag! My purchase that day included zucchini, I don't get produce bags for my veggies because I end up ripping them off and organizing them in my fridge so one by one I watched as she diced and sliced my zucchini when she violently threw it in the cart and circumvented the bag. I finally had to say " can you please be careful " to which she kind of grunted and didn't even say sorry or acknowledge my statement. I went again today and a different cashier asked me how I would be paying I said credit, mind you she had barely swiped the first of about 30 items and she snapped "swipe your card now !!!". Me being the a******* that I am did not swipe anything and I could just tell she was getting agitated lol! I was the only person at the checkout so not sure what the deal was, but I don't like someone whom I'm patronizing to snap at me. Also, i had a coupon and didn't want my swiping too soon to cause me to lose out on the coupon. Finally her agitation got the best of her and she said have you swiped ??? I said nope, not yet , RELAX . Really? This sounds more like a street brawl than a grocery shopping trip lol. So I said I'll be using cash after all ... She was so annoyed it rookie her several times to count the $60 + I handed her . No thank you from her and no thank you from me. Yuck it was a nasty transaction and I left there feeling bad for society . Not just cause she was an assh0le but because I in turn became one too. Hmmm next time I'll drive to the Fontana one OR go to another chain altogether . Food 4 less down the street has very pleasant employees! So do several other places. Not sure how much these people are paid but I do know they are overpaid because they obviously have zero people skills! I work in recruiting and I've actually gotten people who offer me great service hired at marvelous companies and making double or triple what they made when I met them so I must say whoever did the interviewing at this aldi must've been blindfolded , gagged , cotton in the ears and bound. Aldi is a German grocery chain with nearly 14,000 locations world wide. Their claim to fame is in maintaining small tidy stores which stock the items people buy the most often. Aldi offers predominately store brands and you won't find many name brand items on the shelves. Aldi brands are really very good so don't let the lack of name brands keep you from giving them a try. The produce section looks exceptionally good. Aldi prices are low and I do mean low. Some say they're even lower than Wallyworld. I don't shop at Walmart so I can't testify to that though. Now for the bad stuff and why I only gave Aldi three stars. Shopping there isn't exactly what I'd call convenient. And I'm not talking about having to bag your own groceries; that's no big deal. For starters it's the location. Aldi is located in an the Terra Vista shopping center next to Office Depot where it is always busy, traffic is always heavy, parking is always difficult and it's always a pain in the ass to get in and out. Combine that with the fact that you must return your cart to the store (if you want your quarter back) while your groceries sit cooking in a hot car waiting for you to return the cart. Hopefully you can score a parking spot close to the store, but don't get your hopes up. Don't get me wrong, I think the quarter to use a shopping cart is a great idea. It irritates me to no end to see abandoned carts from Target, Walmart (and others) that have somehow wandered off the reservation sitting along the side of the road everywhere. But, the parking lot in the location Aldi chose to set up shop makes shopping there a chore. And finally my real disappointment with Aldi. As I mentioned, Aldi is a German grocery chain and I truly hoped they would be bringing some great German brands and traditional foods to America. NOPE! Apart from a very small section of German soups, cookies and candy it's all the usual types of products that one can buy anywhere. This totally takes the adventure out of it. Second time going into the store my bf told me about it and when they build one out here i was excited for it he got me pita chips from there that was the first time i heard of the store and i loved it! So had to go buy more. This time i went in with my son and he was so excited first words were "its beautiful!" lol maybe because its new to him. Anyways everything i seen so far is good which they had more veggie selection but it is a smaller store so no problem there my only problem was the customer service. Im walking down the aisles see employees walking around not one asked if i needed help walked down few times. In my aisle there was a blonde girl employee stocking got in my way and another customer way but instead of just stepping back and waiting for us to look or grab what we needed she kept on stocking not ok so pretty much i had to wait til she was done so i can do a quick look and move out of this busy lady work. Second there was only one cashier line was getting longer when i got in line another employee jump right on a register which was good but her attitude was not, she not once smiled asked how my day was nothing i put everything up and she pulled the cart around to her without a word and that was it i work in customer service and those employees need some training asap. I have been an Aldi shopper for well over a year now, and I have nothing but great things to say! I usually shop at the Rancho Cucamonga location, the staff is always nice and helpful, even during this pandemic the shelves are stocked to the best of the employees ability, the store is very clean and the typical wait in line isn't too terribly long. The manager a tall skinny bald guy, i'm not really sure his name, he is on his game! He is always instructing the employees and getting things done, as well as I can tell that they enjoy working for him and with him as a coworker, he seems very respectful and hard working. I don't usually write reviews, but I do shop at this store at least once a week if not sometimes 2, and with being a busy mom of 5 working in health care my time is valuable and I appreciate being able to run my errands in places that are well ran. Thanks to all the Aldi staff at the Rancho location, I have not had a bad experience yet! read more

I love Aldi and I always shop at Aldi 2x a week. The products they carry are similar even better than the original brands and they are very cheap. I love the Brioches which are directly imported from France. I also like the shopping cart concept because people will not put it on the street. The meats are always fresh and I love to buy salmon there. If I don't find vegetables that I want, I just go to next door market, Seafood City. Anyway, I love that neighborhood markets. read more
