I'll be quick with this one. Aldi definitely has some decent deals, so long as you don't care about brands. They do have some name brands these days, but they won't be cheaper compared to other stores. The Aldi finds isle is a fun seasonal section with bargains. I like to stop here for the occasional fresh item like raspberries which are usually a fair amount cheaper than other local stores. They have an obvious lack of selection as it's a small store, but they do have decent store brands. Are you going to do all your shopping here? Not likely. But if you want to save some money, need a quick item, or are just fed up with your usual store then Aldi is worth a trip. read more

This store is not a discount store like they claim. Aldis knock off brands are sold at same prices as brand name merchandise! Do not buy these items. Aldi's prices are increasing every day. I have stopped buying these expensive knock off brands. Not only are these items way overpriced but they are so unhealthy and loaded with sugar and fillers that should not be priced at these ridiculously high prices. Items I used to buy are not the same quality as they used to be but still have the same label on them and a higher price. The quantities are smaller with higher prices. I will not shop at Aldi anymore. I have found another grocery store that is not doing this to consumers. I suggest everyone find another store for their better health. No one should be paying these high prices for unhealthy knock off brand food! You can buy healthier food for the same price anywhere else! read more

Today I stopped in to pick up a few things I was super pleased to find 96% fat free beef, and 35 calorie bread. I'm so glad to find the low calorie options! I didn't want to get a cart, so I carefully balanced all of my groceries in my arms. Jessica rang me out, and as she did, she carefully placed all of my items into a box that I had and made almost every thing fit! She didn't have to do that, and she was super helpful to pick it up when I couldn't get my hands under the box. I've been to stores where the checker wouldn't help out. but Jessica was wonderful and went beyond what was necessary. She KNOWs how to pack! I've always run into great people at this Aldi, super helpful and kind. We need more people like Jessica in this world. read more

So I recently discovered Aldi and now it has become a regular party of my grocery store rotation. I love the low prices and ransoms fines throughout the store. And it really doesn't hurt that the first things offered when I walk in are dessert and wine! What more could a woman ask for? Well, a quick sweep for one. There is always quite a bit of debris on the floor. Maybe I am going late and they are in that last stretch before closing? Plus there are usually large sections of the cooler or freezer that are empty. I am generally comfortable going there and they always have employees around to ask questions to. I really enjoy browsing up and down the aisles. I do have to acknowledge that they have a great selection of produce for a smaller grocery store and I can always find my staples (frozen fruit, bananas and almond milk). However, if you are planning a trip here be sure to grab your reusable grocery bags or some other way of lugging your finds. While they do have bags, you have to pay per bag and it can start to eat into all the money you saved! read more

I really enjoy shopping at this Aldi location. The prices are really low but the quality of products is exceptionally high. For instance, they sell eggs by the dozen for about $.70. Chicken thighs are just $.95 per pound. Extra-large pizzas are only $5 - $6. Overall, they got a great selection of almost all types of products. They have large meat and cheese sections, as well as a good variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. One thing that I don't like about this location is that at times it gets super busy which makes it harder to get around and makes the lines pretty along. But employees really do make a good effort to eliminate that by opening additional cash registers when that happens. Word of advice in case you have not shopped at Aldi before: bring your own plastic bags. One of the ways they keep prices low is they don't provide plastic bags. But personally I don't see that as a big issue at all. read more

I have found the Aldi chain to have great prices and equally great employees, but not at the Round Lake location. Arrogant male employees and empty slots on the shelves. When asking if there was another version to a specific product, I was talked down to and told "I should read the signs" and "what you see, is all we have", and then turned and walked away pissed off at me. When walking over to check out, as I was pulling up, I asked if he was still open, he just looked at his watch and shook his head no and walked away. I hope that this is an isolated under-trained store, and not the future of what we can expect with this great grocery chain. read more

I typically enjoy shopping at Aldis, but today I stopped into the round lake location. My cashier was Tara and I'm not understanding how she still has a job. She was crabby, rude, barely said a word to me. If you don't like your job. Get a new one! Absolutely no reason to come to work with that attitude. We like Aldi and the prices are great but every time we go into the Round Lake one we have some kind of issue. Either they are out of something you are looking for or like today the employees are rude and in helpful. Today while shopping there was an employee facing the shelves and she was taking up a huge section of the aisle with her cart. I was trying to reach past her and she made a rude comment. I said sorry there isn't much room and then when I tried squeezing past her cart she made another rude remark and gave me a dirty look. There wasn't much room and several other people in the aisle were also trying to get past her. I understand that she was just trying to do her job but the rude comments and dirty looks were not necessary. read more

Gotta love the prices. Super cheap, good quality produce. The selection is limited but great for basic needs. I don't think I've ever gone and they didn't have what I needed. Except today, I wanted asparagus, but that was a last minute craving. They also have a great cheese selection, which is kind of cool. read more

I'm new to Aldi. It is a smaller grocery store than I usually go to, but the prices cannot be beat. The produce is always fresh and affordable. They even carry wine that is cheap. They have some brand names, but most of the things they sell are generic or Aldi brand. I have been here a few times and have never had a bad experience. The cashiers are hit or miss. I've had some very friendly ones and some very quiet ones. They are all very quick though. I avoid the meat (I just prefer a local butcher) and the produce (sold in larger quantities and we often don't eat it quick enough). The generic food is comparable to walmart or jewel but cheaper. I would recommend this Adli over some but not all, hence the 3 star rating. There's nothing particularly wrong with this Adli, but there's nothing that blows me away. It is A-okay in book. read more

The other day I accidentally dropped a bottle of wine in my cart while packing the groceries. Wine and glass were everywhere, all over the products in the bag, dripping through the cart, and so forth. Immediately the employees came to my aid, taking the dripping bag out of the cart, taking stock of my soaked groceries, and running back to the aisles to replace all the goods (for no cost). They cleaned everything up and got me out of the store with my groceries immediately. I was impressed by their kind and gracious service! read more
