It is a subsidiary of the nationwide grocery chain Albertson's (which purchased it in 1999). We stopped in this location in LIbertyville, IL, to pick up some whiskey while on a visit. It's a larger store, and was the first time I saw a dedicated 'cellar' like retail space to sell wine (initially I thought it was a wine cooler but realized it was not). Going to the liquor section, it had all the standards and the prices were reasonable comparably (cheaper than your local liquor store but more expensive than a alcohol superstore like Binnys). Some of the hard liquor was behind locked glass, though the prices didn't seem too much higher than what was openly available. Checkout was pleasant, where the friendly cashier made small talk once she realized we were from California.

First of all when you enter through the revolving door that entrance area is so cramped and so tiny partially due to the pick up area being set up there along with the Amazon area being set up there as well. I wish this place had a bigger footprint in order to make that entrance more welcoming as well as more accommodating for the amount of foot traffic that they have my second complaint here is that every time I come here anytime I come anywhere near the seafood cases the entire area, including the vitamin area smell smells like fish now this might be due to poor ventilation, or it could be due to bad quality fish, but this has been very consistent at the smell fish outside of the fish area is disturbing. However, let me just say that this place is incredible. I keep coming back here because of the great selection the great layout and I still believe in some of the Whole Foods high-quality all natural healthy products.
