The farmers market is every Saturday from 9-2 and runs from July through October. I wish it would start earlier than July but I'll take what I can get. The farmers market usually has at least two actual farms selling a variety of fruits and vegetables. Depending on the month you can get corn, blueberries, peaches, cantaloupes, cucumbers, tomatoes...the list goes on and on. Everything is reasonably priced and delicious, of course. Besides the farms there are other vendors as well including High Mountain Farms which sells fresh ravioli, meatballs and other Italian specialties. A pickle vendor is also usually there as well as a fruit and nut seller and bakery. We go here every Saturday and stock up on produce for the week. This farmers market illustrates why NJ is called The Garden State.

Also want to mention they have a deli counter that features Boars Head products usually at prices…read morethat are cheaper than the deli counter at your local supermarket. In addition they make a really good sandwich. Today I had an Italian hero. Very good!

They had a good selection of pies, but unfortunately, they only sell them by the whole pie, and not the slice. I would've loved to try a slice of their pie. I did buy a half dozen of their cinnamon, apple cider donuts, and unfortunately, I was disappointed. First of all, they were dusted with way too much cinnamon sugar. It literally overtook the flavor of the doughnut. Secondly, unfortunately, the donuts were dry. Apple cider donuts are supposed to be soft, and moist in the middle, and they were just, well, dry in the middle. It definitely took away from the enjoyment of the doughnut. We ordered a blueberry pie and their cider donut bread pudding. The pie had a lattice top and was perfectly sweet. We thoroughly enjoyed it. They had the smallest blueberries in it and many were very much intact but not tart at all. Same for the bread pudding; my husband could tell that there was a fried component which made it super decadent, but it wasn't actually that sweet either! It was moist, nicely spiced with cinnamon, and the syrup that came with it enhanced everything. Color me impressed! I plan on visiting the farm and Market in person once it warms up and see everything else they have to offer. Once I do, I'll update this review.

The market, held every Saturday from spring to fall, is anchored by three farms that each sell fresh produce, priced similarly so you can choose your favorite on quality. Scattered throughout are other longtime favorites, including delicious order ahead empanadas and barrels of pickles. But along with those mainstays are a revolving cast of tasty treats and interesting stands - from craft beers and ciders to freshly-made pesto and baked goods. The market does get crowded around lunchtime, and with few tables available for sitting and snacking, it isn't somewhere to stop and eat. I was so excited to come in here for the $1 bonbon sale during Cranford's restaurant week. I got 50+ bonbons to have a chocolate tasting with my family, and give some away as birthday gifts. They were very tasty, high quality chocolates. For me, some of them were a bit too sweet- I guess I prefer dark chocolate and less sweet flavors- however they were really rich and saturated in flavor. My favorites were the Bourbon (real depth of flavor, dark smooth chocolate), and the Guava Passionfruit (tart). My kids liked the Peanut Butter and Jelly bonbons a lot, and Cookies and Creme. Really fun assortment, highly recommend coming in!
