It's just another Aldi's. Some items are a good deal, but honestly - most of their store brands are inferior to the name brands. Got some decent produce, but you really need to pick through the stuff. The local dollar stores have some similar items at better prices. read more

Sure, the prices are ok, but Aldi treats their employees like crap. I was hired here as an asst. manager, and from the moment I first walked through the door, I knew I had made a mistake. I was a loyal shop rite customer and if you a specific item, yes shop rite will have it based on inventory and size of the store. But once I got familiar with what Aldi has to offer, I find the store and quality of food to be good and prices great. Their produce are very good. They have basic everyday items. I stop at this Aldi's to shop for my In-laws, but the navigation around the parking lot is park at your own risk, I'm not sure what the fired up hurried rush is but slow down folks. The same 25¢ deposit to get your cart for shopping applies here, but you get it back when you return it- I do love this - carts stay nice and no damage to the cars in the parking lot. I really find that I can buy most everything here and since they are older and watch salt, sugar etc they have a "Fit" brand that covers the spectrum of food, that they seem to really like, from yogurt, butter and bread to soup, frozen foods and cereal. Inside is still the same maze as other Aldi's but for some reason this one gets totally bogged down in the freezer and middle aisle. I have my own Aldi grocery bags and they are pretty sturdy and they are only 10¢ each. They do carry some name brands like Special K, but in all honesty I like that Aldi's is consistent with the products they carry. There are some nice European chocolates, frozen desserts, cheeses and meats that you don't get at regular stores. I have found that the variety of hummus's and luncheon meats are pretty tasty. You can probably save a good percentage of your weekly cost if you do your shopping here. read more

My husband, mother and I went to the Aldi's in Lacey for the first time today. We found it clean with a nice simple selection. We spoke with a couple of employees (one employee who recommended the cranberry chicken salad, which was delicious) and found them to be very pleasant. However, the cashier was a bit of a crank. I am not familiar with the store policy and was unaware that I could not bag my purchases at the register. Therefore, cashier Ellen not nice to me at all. However I did observe her with my mother who was behind me and she was very nice with my mother. I guess if you're not aware of the store policy you're put on the naughty list. Although it may be true that many of my friends won't shop here because they think Aldi appeals to a lower segment demographic, nothing could be farther from the truth in actuality. There is also a learning curve with this store, so you need to get used to its individualistic format. Nevertheless, here are the reasons why I like Aldi: --The prices are cheap. Seriously, they are $1-$2 cheaper on each product. You do not have to bother with a customer loyalty card. Everything is on sale all the time. For instance, a 20 oz. box of cereal is around $1.69 at Aldi. At other stores--even when it is on sale--will run $2.99. Shopping here ends up saving me about $50 per month for one individual. --The parking is right near the front door. The aisles are short. You can be in and out of there within 10 minutes. Forget that at the Shop-rite megastore down the road. --Aldi has boutique items imported from Germany, such as premium chocolate and coffee. You cannot find such items anywhere else in this country. --Don't be afraid of all the generic items. When you try them, they are the same or even better in quality than the national brands you commonly recognize. The only difference is that at Aldi, they are much less expensive. --Aldi is such a great alternative to the bigger supermarkets and warehouse stores. Now that Foodtown is closed, and Pathmark is following suit, Aldi is something different from Shop-rite, Stop & Shop, Walmart, and BJ's. It is kind of like an old fashioned grocery store from the 1950's. It's about as big as a CVS. read more

I have been a loyal Aldi customer since 2008, I went in today to do a large grocery purchase, on December 15, 2022 Unfortunately for them they went self check out, All I can say is KNOW YOUR CUSTOMERS!! surrounded by 55 and up communities and you thought it was a good idea to force people to check themselves out?? Here's a little tidbit on a shopping trip to Aldi, my father and I went in to get some items because their prices are cheap and as we went into the checkout line we placed our poultry, bread and other items on the belt, well the cashier was slamming the chicken on top of my bread like she was angry and taking it out on customers, we told her that we had a box and that we could put it in there, she yells at us No! I have to do it this way!! Seriously?! And we weren't the only ones she was taking her anger on, she yelled at another customer in front of us! So we left all the items on the belt and walked away, whoever was at cashier number 5 was a total b****! She needs to check her attitude! This will be the last we go there! Despicable customer service! Aldi you need to check your workers and make sure they have people skills, not hire scumbags like this! read more

They were closed for a while for renovations, but when they finished, the store was no bigger, nor was the parking lot. I really only shop there for a few items, one of which is their Creamery brand Half & Half, which is better -- and cheaper -- than any other. But they're always out of it. In the last 4 trips I made there especially to buy that, they were out of stock. Today was another example. IF you can find someone to help you, they don't even check to see if there's any stock in the back. You get the stock answer: if it isn't out, we don't have it. Yet they were bringing out pallets of other food to replenish other items. This may have been my last trip there. read more

Parking is undersized but worth it. I shop here for just about everything. I go about 3 times a week. Prices are incredible and beats the big chains hands down! Great selection of anything you need. Aside from the less than ideal parking lot I regularly shop here for my "basics" and I always end up trying some of their other specialty products. There's always a wide variety of fruits and vegetables and they are always always cheaper than any other grocery stores. Their frozen fruit is perfect for smoothies and cheap. The random household goods, seasonal stuff and kids toys are a plus, also cheap. For what I need this store is great, I know a lot of people stay away from Aldi because of the lack of brand name goods but I've never been disappointed in the store brand alternatives! Bring your own bags and a quarter to deposit for the shopping cart, no big deal. read more

I love Aldi's in Upstate NY. Here, however, I went ONCE in the three years I have been here, when I first moved. When I entered the store, around 3 PM, it looked like it had been raided. Things all askew on shelves, if there were any items left, it was mostly bare shelves everywhere except for several of the European items from Germany a typical American would not recognize, but having lived in France and Italy brief periods of time, as well as being part German, I had no trouble recognizing what was what and what I liked, so I walked out with 2 or 3 items nobody recognized and sadly continued on to Shop Rite. I asked the store manager how often they stocked the shelves. He said, "Everyday". I was shocked. He said that if you don't come to the store right at 9 AM when it opens, you are out of luck. (I can just imagine all the elderly people, lined up outside the door everyday, ready to storm in.) I am on Social Security Disability, a fixed income, just like them, however I am a Night Person and I refuse to leave the house so early to compete for food like we are savages. I shop the sales at Shop Rite and I don't hoard food. I know how Aldi's works, I lived in a couple of countries in Europe. So, those who complain about needing a quarter for a shopping cart, be thankful you are not moving shopping carts away from your car to get out of the parking lot. Being asked to recycle their boxes and to bring your own reusable bags or buy some of theirs is all standard practice in Europe...you are in a European store...and they care about the environment, as should we. If you don't like different or have an open mind about doing things differently, stay away from Aldi's. I love all their stuff, especially the European chocolate. There are a few things I remember that I could not find there that I needed. Ground turkey was one thing. Lactose free milk and Chobani Flips (I eat as a dessert) were not there, but the chocolate made up for that ;-) read more

Great place for deals when on a fixed income, But I couldn't help noticing the day me and my wife went there, the week of Thanksgiving, as soon as we entered there was a strong smell of what seemed to be insecticide, the smell got to me immediately, and my wife she couldn't figure out what it was, Well we went away for Thanksgiving, and when we came back, and turned on the lights, We seen a couple of Cock Roaches, Like I said we always go there, So I am letting other shoppers know to keep a eye out for them, And the store should let shoppers know, We always had a very clean house, So yes Im upset over it, read more

Unless you're destitute, I can't justify shopping here. First off, they have the carts where you have to insert a quarter to free it from cart corral prison so you can use it. What a pain in the ass! Secondly, you have to bring your own bags or pay for theirs. WTF? Third, and most importantly, their brands suck. I bought their beef stroganoff and I had the runs for a week. Their razors chopped up my legs like a Nightmare on Elm Street movie. You may find an item here or there that's a bargain but it doesn't justify the trip. read more

I discovered Aldi's years ago in Bricktown because it was right next door to where I worked. Then last year I started going to the one in Toms River regularly. I love it, there food is great, meats are wonderful and prices fantastic. The demographics of shoppers are quite diverse and the employees very helpful. A lot of seniors go there because of the surrounding community. I don't like the paid shopping carts and remember to bring your own bags or pay for them too! read more
