I've purchased over 10 pairs of shoes and boots from here. Always great service and great selection of different styles

Every time I come here, the associates say hi and continue their own personal conversation and never tried to ask me for the people in my party. If we're looking for something, they hold their whole conversation gossiping about somebody else's business and not paying attention to the customers I will never come back to this location. Customer Service was a major factor in my decision in leaving the store with making a purchase. This guy immediately yell can I help in a unprofessional tone. That's not customer service! This made my family feel very uncomfortable and wanted to leave quick. For me this probably won't return to this store! read more

I really like Aldo shoes. Maybe it was because I just liked shoes in general. WAIT! That was before I worked here in a short stint this summer. Words can not even begin to express how much grief and agony I endured on every shift here, from working to simply watching customers (about 1 or 2 every hour) leave in fury and vowing to dial corporate on the way out, to getting yelled at myself. From the beginning to the end...I could not believe how awful it was. I'll just bullet for you. You can read and lament. Or laugh. 1. Went in for application, was told they "Had none available." Took my resume and never heard back. 2. Got a part-time elsewhere, went to Aldo just to browse before shift started. Manager wanted me, asked me to interview. Told me wrong date. Wasted my time and gas. Great start. 3. Came in for interview, straight up ignored for 20 minutes. Finally interviewed. Manager was arrogant and rude, best term is a bitch ("I'm a psych and sociology major, I am SO personable, ah hah!!") and told me, "if you can't meet your goals, I'm gonna fire you. we don't take your bullshit here." I asked about turnover rates and it was pretty darn high. 4. Was told at 10am there was a team meeting at 10:30am. Went in a hurry, wasn't paid for it (everyone else was). During the meeting, I heard these phrases: -"If they look ugly, wear sweatpants, doesn't look fashionable, or comes on Fri-Sun, throw away their resumes." There was a 10 minute discussion on -how- to throw away resumes. Ah, so that's why my first application never went through. -"[Jane] got fired for taking Aldo merch from the back." "Oh so that's what happened to her!" Yes, they mentioned names. That's private and unprofessional, Miss Management. -"[Miss Doe], you have attitude problems." Yes, there were cat fights and snarks too. -"Oh new girl, you work at [xyz]? I don't like the girls that work there." Me: "um....why not?" "I don't know. Just something about them." Later I found out she didn't get a job there. Team meeting impression: agonizing [unpaid] teenage mean girls session. 5. FAVORITE: While filling out paperwork, they crossed out the human rights section with a red pen. What are we in, middle school? I wish I had my camera, I only have a pic of it on my cellphone. When I asked, they said, "Oh we got rid of it. It's not our policy." Excuse me? Aldo is written on top of the page. I'm pretty sure this is illegal...and surely the mark of a bad company to work for... 6. No training invested, whatsoever. I didn't know jack. Literally thrown onto floor. I was talking to customers before I even knew what European sizes were. 7. We had to climb ladders often too, on time crunches and without assistance- completely dangerous, but ok. One employee broke her ankle this way and Aldo fired her because she could have been the company's liability. Oh right! We don't have rights!! 8. Required to buy and wear Aldo shoes. No other company I know is allowed to do this. At other stores, we could report that and get thousands of dollars in reward. 9. I told management -very- specifically, what dates and times I would be available. They don't give a rat's arse. Basically every shift I had conflicted with my other part-time, who had been more than gracious, accommodating, and understanding in my requests. AS A COMPANY- Pardon upcoming language, but Aldo is a shitbag. They don't give a damn about their employees- they can throw them aside at any moment. Oh, they don't really care about their customers either. The main point is trying to get you to buy their shoes (and low-qual shoe care) and bags (jewelry tarnishes within a day, or on the rack) at exorbitant prices, many at the cost of lying. Every time I worked here, customers would be outraged, and I sided with all of them. Employees don't have a choice- sell, or be fired. Many times shoes don't fit right, are practically worn, and when a customer tries to do a return, Aldo makes up bullshit excuses to not return shoes because they cut into our daily goals. I got in trouble for holding a customer's return shoes at the counter while they browsed- the reasoning was so that they won't feel welcome about returning the shoes. -The newest manager Jayde is awesome- she is a psych major, and she truly understood people and how they worked. My coworkers are super awesome, minus my interviewer. Oh, we're revealing names now? Numero 4 and second bullet? Her name's Krutika, and doesn't know how to use her major or which direction to take her career. Good luck succeeding in life, witch. 12.11.2011: new manager, 90% new staff. Aldo has a terrible turnover rate. Don't work here. Don't buy from here. Don't support the store. LESSON LEARNED: I now have the motivation to not slack off in school again. read more

This store is the reason I will not be shopping at Aldo again. I purchased a pair of shoes from the Perimeter store that they did not have in my size so they shipped them to my house. When they arrived, I noticed that they sent the wrong size. Because the Cumberland store is closer to my house, I went to there to exchange or return the shoes. I couldn't exchange the shoes because they didn't have the shoes in my size. I couldn't reorder the shoes because they were no longer in stock. And apparently I couldn't return the shoes because I didn't have the original receipt. Mind you, it can only been a month or so after I originally ordered the shoes and I had all the packaging and order sheets that came along with the shoes. Here is the ridiculousness that I heard when I expressed my concern: "That is not a receipt, it's an order form." "We don't do store credit. Really your shoes are the store credit. Keep the shoes as your store credit; we'll take your return anytime." "I know, we hate the ordering process too." And when I called the corporate line "We're sorry due to technical difficulties we are unable to answer your call". I eventually called the Perimeter store to ask them for assistance. They sent over some information to the Cumberland store and finally after over an hour I was refunded my money. read more

Couldn't even hear myself think because they had a live DJ in there playing music. The sales associate couldn't hear my request or hear herself for that matter. It was ridiculous. They need to get rid of the dj ASAP and focus on expanding their selection! read more

Aldo shoes at Cumberland mall is getting a name for itself and its not a good name. The girl who helped me (or not helped) was brown skin girl with lot of arrogance and attitude to spare. They always ask for your bags when you come in the store (I guess its a fake out customer service but really loss prevention move) She actually went into my shopping bag without asking me after I told here to be careful with my bag and do not go in it (private mail was in there too). Believe it true story. But anyway, I had a pair of shoes I wanted to exchange and she gave me grief and was not helpful at all. She actually went into my shopping bag and grabbed an old receipt and called another employee to the back of the store for conference like she was a private investigator. Yes she was clowning herself very bad by this time so I told her I would handle the issue with corporate and to give me my shoes back. I have read on several blogs how bad the customer service is at this cumberland aldo store. This girls arrogance has her flying too high to think she wont lose her job in these trying times. Aldo do yourself a favor and get rid of employees like this before you lose all of your customers. well maybe they shouldnt lose their jobs but they need to be trained on how to treat customers. read more

I have been a customer with Aldo for several years and have spent hundreds of dollars with this company. The relationship with me and Aldo has ended today after the inability to rectify a situation that was THEIR FAULT! After waiting over a month for an online order I purchased I received the wrong item in the mail. Mistakes happens which is completely understandable, however, as a reputable company I expect for you guys to fix the situation and do so expeditiously, especially since I've already waited over a month to receive the wrong order! My only options were to pay for a new order and wait another month to receive it, or to go in store and trade it out it. I was down for going in store only to find that all stores are sold out of the bags and they actually have no handbags available right now. So pretty much either way I have no options and customer support does not seem to care at all! This is really upsetting that as a valued customer I was not offered any options. If you guys were not prepared to open back up you should've just stayed closed. It hurts for me to even have to write this review because you guys sell great quality bags, however your customer support sucks! Somebody should reach out to me now, because I'm not done!!! read more

I'm giving 3 stars because I'm indifferent to the store. I personally think they are over priced for the quality of the womens shoes. Came in 9/2/16 around 830ish, we were greated, asked if we needed any help, blah blah blah. I was looking for some black thigh boots. They had some over the knee boots for $120, I wasnt impressed. If Im dropping $120 for some boots I want them to at least make my ol man hot and bothered when I wear them. I hate bakers is no longer open, they used to rule in the boot department. But If these boots didn't wow me I know he wouldn't be dazzled. I struck out but He saw some shoes he liked, but he was on the fence about them. We left and looked around at different stores. He decided to get them around 850pm, they didn't have his size so they\he found another pair. Since I couldn't find any shoes I liked I bought him some. Considering we came on a Friday night and received decent service is impressive compared to the reviews. read more
