Simply the best. Forget Lowes, forget Homeless Depot and go straight to here to get actual service, quality products and people who are not seemingly trying to avoid contact with customers. Just bought about $65 worth of kit from here, was served by the delightful Tiffany, don't tell her I said that, who was patient with my insomnia and drooling problems. That's 65 not going to one of the billionaire gits that own the other two shops mentioned above. In case no one knows it, Lowes is owned by a member of the Walton clan, who basically have done their best to wipe out quality shops of all kinds and import nearly all of their products from China. I actually found stuff in Ace made in a strange country called the U.S of A. There is some of the Chinese stuff in there, but if you ask for quality stuff they have it. Unlike the Kobalt junk I bought from Homless Depot which had the endearing feature of in one case having the bit part of a screw driver literally snap off. Looks nice, is basically junk. I've always loved Ace, so of course, when I bought an outdoor heater for my deck, I went to Ace for my propane needs. I never leave reviews, but Mike at Ace makes this the place. Seriously! He's kind and courteous, always willing to fill my propane tanks up to the appropriate amount, and generally makes me feel like filling my propane tanks rain or shine isn't a nuisance. If you enjoy hanging around talking about your cats and gardening, and you have to get something simple like paint or a toilet seat, and you have plenty of spare time, you will like this place. Really nice people! It's just that in the several times I've been there I have come away empty-handed. Quantities and selection are limited. It's a small store. I can't find special items I need so I am forced to go to the big boxes. However, I enjoy noticing the odd things they have. Wow! I just found my new neighborhood hardware store! My husband and I just moved and we were 'missing' a few things. Most specifically screws to mount a small tv in the guest room. We brought the tv and the stand in so we could hunt for the right size. The moment we walked in an employee knew exactly what we needed and took us to the right section and we found the proper items in a matter of minutes. I went to Ace today to get a key cover for my daughter's 2010 Honda Accord Coupe. Tiffany greeted me and ask how could she help. I ask Tiffany if ace carries key cover for 2010 Honda Accord Coupe. Tiffany took a look at the key and said it has glue on it and she didn't want to try to take it apart because it might get damaged and she gave me the price to replace the key. Tiffany then gave it a shot, she was able to take her time and she was able to take the key apart. Once Tiffany got it apart she put in the new battery and tried the transponder in the new case, it wouldn't fit. Chris came along and he was the best he took the key and shaved the glue off! Almost an old fashioned hardware store. Same people there all the time for years. They're always helpful. Bought my big green egg there, and all sorts of odds and ends, a cooler, tools, lawn mowers, tiller, you name it. Great place makes you feel like you're in small town America because their employees don't turn over constantly. read more

This place still has customer service (a dying concept these days). The staff here know their products, offer helpful suggestions and go out of their way to serve you. I am new to the local area and went here for the first time just to pick up a clamp for my dryer hose. As soon as I walked in the store, the staff guided me directly to what I needed. I was so impressed with their customer service that I walked around the store for a few more minutes and ended up buying more stuff. This place is great, I came in here on a Monday evening after breaking a bolt head while replacing a motor mount in my car. I started explaining my predicament to one employee, and before long there were three employees talking through a solution with me. Also, best selection of bolts in town, they even had ones that Fastenal didn't have in stock. I love this place. read more
