Great experience this afternoon at Aldo inside Mall St Matthews! Walking by on our way out of the mall to go to DSW and something caught my eye so I came inside with a (young) friend looking for Prom shoes. The shoes are gorgeous in here and priced well. I asked the salesperson about the color of the dress and what shoe color would coordinate well. She confirmed my thoughts and she checked stock for several pairs of shoes for my friend. She told us which ones she could order in other colors and was very consultative without being pushy. She even helped pick out some jewelry and had recommendations for shoe comfort accessories. It was Stephanie, y'all! Stephanie, you were GREAT with us today, and we will be back! Excellent customer service and nice demeanor. read more

Aldo provides a variety of mens and womens shoes from casual to dressy and all good quality. Long ago I purchased a pair of dressy sandals and they lasted several years. Located in Mall St Matthews, this shop is worth a look if you're on the hunt for a classic womens shoe. On the mens side I spotted several cool color combinations - personally a big plus for me is uniqueness in a shoe and wish I'd seen more of it for women. For clearance options hit the back of the store. read more

Shopping at this store is always hit or miss - either I have to beg for service, or the staff is overly helpful and won't leave me alone to browse. I seldom see the same staff (which tells me they may have high turnover - or maybe I just don't have consistent shopping times), and I'm spoiled in other stores at this price point with really exceptional customer service. I'll just say I'd like to see better and more consistent standards of service in this store.

That's the first thing that my children noticed when we walked into the market. The arcade is set up off to the side, through a door, on the first floor. There are a couple dozen pinball machines and old-school video games that you can play for quarters. When we visited, there was no one in the arcade, so we had the whole thing to ourselves. The arcade was an unexpected bonus, but we visited for the food. I love food halls and markets like this because everyone can find something they like. When we visited, one of us got a loaded baked potato from Spudzy Potato Bar, one of us got the falafel and hummus plate from Jerusalem Kitchen, and one of us got a cheeseburger from Ziba's Bistro. But we could have also chosen arepas, Korean street food or crepes, or things like boba and coffee and vegan baked goods. There are a lot of different options here. Upstairs, there are a lot of little booths with crafts and handmade goods and things. When we visited, none of that was open, but we were able to go up there and look around. There's also a small area for young kids to play, and a couple of video games. The second floor is also a nice place to peer down and look at the market from high up above. Parking is wherever you can find it. There's a gravel parking lot a block away, and there's also street parking, if you're lucky to get a spot.
