Never shopped Jos A Banks for unknown reasons. We were looking for a suit for my grandnephew...it's prom season! We were greeted promptly as we entered. I explained to the clerk what we were looking for, he listened. After trying on the suits ( and there were several) we found something that he liked. Measurements were taken, suggestions were made. Our clerk made a 17 old who doesn't like shopping comfortable with his decisions . I checked the place out while my party was shopping. Prices varied so there should be something for everyone. Great staff, excellent guest service and very well organized shelves makes a second trip a necessity! read more

As a young guy coming in to get his first suit for an interview I was extremely nervous also i'm a little bigger and have shorter arms but I'm pretty stocky I was worried that the whole process would be difficult due to the fact my measurements weren't average I mean not crazy off but probably something they wouldn't have immediately on hand and the issue was I needed the suit for an interview in 3 days so I had no time for alterations I went in and was welcomed warmly I was focused on and felt nice to be fitted and be able to honestly have an open dialogue with the employees instead of that robotic feeling you get like where everything you say annoys them I was able to pick and choose what I wanted and Honestly get sound advice for future purchases I might make I also asked question's about the suits and why they are a certain way and I actually learned something it was a super enjoyable experience The man that fitted me was the man that likes to work on gos corvette he knows who he is and he was absolutely awesome thank you for making something that is leading up to a huge step in my life so easy and enjoyable read more

My friend had an appointment made here for months to get a suit fitting for her wedding., a same sex wedding. She arrived on time , was never greeted and after an hour or so when her sister said something about having an appointment they still never waited on her or attempted to fit her. She kept getting blown off. Then finally , when your staff decided to acknowledge her , they admitted to knowing she had an appointment but for some reason still stated they could not accommodate her or fit her. One would *hope* this isn't a discriminatory issue with your store , but it sure looked and felt that way. So therefore, this doesn't look good for your store. read more

From the moment my fiancé and I walked through the door until we left, we had the most unfriendly, rude, bizarre encounter. My fiancé made an appointment to try on/look at/talk about tuxedo rentals for our wedding. A lady sales associate called him that day to ask what tuxedo he was interested in, etc. So we thought we were good to go and that it was a normal thing to go in and look at the tuxedos before deciding on a style. When we arrived and entered the store and were not acknowledged. We stood at the cash register waiting for someone to help us. Finally, an older man with grey hair in a low ponytail asked what we needed. My fiancé said we had an appointment. The salesman goes, "For......?" so my fiancé responds with his name (assuming the salesman is asking for his name to look up the appointment), and the salesman literally laughs in our face and rudely says, "No..... what are you looking for?" This first interaction already put me off and showed me the lack of customer service this man has. We told him what we were looking for. He gives us the most confused look and tells us that they don't stock any tuxedos. We explained that their store even called today asking details about the appointment, so if they couldn't help us in the store, then why wouldn't we be told to not come in? I was so baffled and asked him how in the world they don't stock any inventory for people to even look at? He goes, "Oh well we have some coats." Um okay.... why wouldn't you tell us this first? So we go look at them and they also have a booklet of tuxedos, a table showing different shirt choices, color choices, etc. So yes you do have things to show us, so I was very confused as to why our initial interaction was a mystery to him. He was so unfriendly and dry the entire time. As we were leaving, he goes well sorry the beginning of the appointment was weird. Yes, sir, because you made it very weird. Very off-putting.... off-putting enough that we chose to rent elsewhere because I did NOT want to risk having to deal with him again. Whoever runs this specific store, please consider this and the fact that HE was alone the reason we did not choose to rent there. He is not a good salesman nor a friendly person. He is not an asset to your store whatsoever. read more

we came here looking for tuxes/suits to rent for our wedding. we walked in without an appt hoping that they would have time to help us. Brian helped us and we couldnt have a had a better experience. they have a nice display where you can see the options for rentals and sample suits. He graciously answered all of our questions (we had many as we were new to the process) and made it for a great experience and the rentals are reasonably priced with all of the items that come with it. i highly recommend this location! read more

My fiancé and I decided to rent a tux for myself and the groomsmen today. There were only two workers and they were busy helping other customers, so we were not greeted but we looked on our own which was fine, however, after more customers came in, we were completely ignored and skipped completely. After 20 minutes of waiting we decided to leave since our business was not wanted. On the way out we were asked if our questions have been answered. I replied no. All I got in return was an oh, sorry. I will never do business with them in the future. read more

This was one of my more bizarre shopping experiences. My brother is in town from Spain, and really wanted to buy a poplin suit. He saw them advertised online for $99 the day previously, so we went today to see if we could find one in his size. When we walked in, the only attendant I saw was an older man in the back, talking with someone. He looked at us both, but didn't bother to greet us. A short time later a young woman came out of the back, greeted us nicely, and began to help us. In store the suits were advertised for $129, so the woman offered to look online for us and see what she could find regarding the price my brother had seen. When the older man walked our way, the woman asked him about it, and he replied in a very rude tone "They've been on sale for $129 ALL WEEK." My brother repeated he had seen them advertised differently just last night, and the man gave another terse reply. The woman was being very helpful though, so my brother still wanted to see what they had. She asked his size, and began to look. The older man said something about a suit jacket that looked like seersucker, but wasn't, completely ignoring the fact the woman was the one helping us, and that my brother wanted a poplin suit. My brother reiterated this while the woman was already searching through their stock for his size, and the older man blurted out "Well, you'll only wear it for maybe a year, then you'll just have to throw it in the trash. I hate to tell you that." Uhhh, so you're saying your merchandise is crap to a potential customer? He then became extremely boorish, basically completely taking over from the young woman, and kept trying to convince my brother he shouldn't bother with what he wanted, and trying to show him suits he did not want. My brother had to tell him two more times, no, he really did want poplin, and asked why the salesman believed poplin was bad. He said the suit will literally disintegrate because it's cotton, and then asked my brother in an aggressive manner "what are you planning on doing with it?" I couldn't help but to laugh loudly when my brother replied "Uhh, WEAR it?!?" The salesman kept belaboring the point about them being crap, even when my brother said he's never had cotton clothing disintegrate, let alone after only a year of light use. The salesman asked if he had bought that clothing at Jos A. Banks, which my brother hadn't, and then just sort of shrugged his shoulders as if to say "see, don't buy it here, it's crap here." So, I said we apparently just shouldn't buy anything from them since he's so insistent the product is terrible, and we had to just walk out. Utterly bizarre behavior on the part of the older salesman. Talking badly about your own merchandise, on top of being very rude and boorish from the minute we walked in, is not a way to try to upsell, which was obviously what he was attempting to do, but extremely ineptly. To the younger woman's credit, she kept trying to steer the sale back to what my brother really wanted, listened to him, and offered again to search their online store for us when the guy finally shut up and she couldn't find my brother's size in their store stock. She looked as bewildered and frustrated with the salesman behavior as we were, so I felt quite sorry for her having to work with someone like that. I'm sure had we been willing to stay and look online with her, she probably would have gotten a commission. It would have been a pleasant experience, even if we couldn't have bought anything, had the salesman just kept his mouth shut and left the saleswoman to her customers. As it is, I will never be stepping foot in Jos A. Banks again, and making sure any of my friends looking for a suit steer clear as well. read more
