I was in search of a salon that does russian manicures because I heard they could help with my problem cuticles. I was so impressed with just one visit, and after 3 visits, my nails looked like this! All the girls are skilled and detail oriented. This structured manicure was done by Alejandra. She definitely knows her craft and has basically worked miracles on my ragged cuticles. She encourages me to treat my nails and hands as precious when she sees I have picked at my cuticles lol. I love my nails again! Her prices are very reasonable, comparatively speaking. It is worth paying the deposit to be honored the appointment time you made, they make every effort to stay on time without feeling rushed. The salon is cute and clean, and I love that it is Latina owned. Definitely give them a call to make an appointment!

Where to begin..I came in with NUBS and cuticles that were bleeding because I was a nail biter. I had been traumatized by past nail salons where they just drill through your fingers! I was scared and skeptical that they would be able to help me. To say that my nail journey has been WAY MORE than I ever expected is an understatement! Their attention to detail, their attention to service is incredible! They take pride in their work and I appreciate their hard work on getting my nails looking healthy!!! I came on Thanksgiving. I was shocked but thankful it was open, because my hands were in desperate need of care! I live in West Covina and drove to Whittier bc it's the closest that offers Russian manicures. I set the appointment up with a $25 deposit. I showed up and extremely impressed with how clean it was and how cleaned it smelled! Yeraldin let me know that it would take time to get my hands to look well (that's how bad my cuticles were). She got to work and was very considerate asking if I was in any pain. Even though she said it would be a process she was wrong bc she worked a MIRACLE on my hands!! They look beautiful. And it's the first time EVER that I've gotten a manicure I'm 100% satisfied with and no pain. I was also impressed that she has done her research on how to properly care for hands and feet which shows in her work. I will definitely be going back!

My nails were done 3 weeks ago and they are still looking fabulous. I'll be seeing Yeraldin this week.

Worth the drive! I'm from OC and drove here to get my manicure done. The place was really clean and loved how my nails looked afterwards. I paid $40 in total (including deposit) for my Russian manicure. You'll need to send a deposit. I sent $25 for my deposit. Overall, I'll definitely come back.

Came here for the first time. Pretty cute place. SUPER clean which I appreciate. They use CaviCide to disinfect which is awesome. Latina owned, mother daughter business . I found Alejandra while searching for Russian Manicures on Google. The reviews were exceptional and i concur! There are not many places that offer Russian mani/pedi unless you want to drive to Glendale or further! I live close to DT Long Beach so i decided to give them a try and have been returning each month since December 2023. Alejandra's place is immaculate when it comes to cleanliness. All of the technicians are kind, welcoming and highly trained. I always see Jeraldine who is better than my doctor at removing ingrown nails! They offer Gel, Gelx and acrylic. I always get the Russian Gel Mani and Luxurious Pedi. $100 total and worth every penny along with the drive from LB. Finally, this salon is Latina owned and operated, such a nice change from what has become the norm among nail salons!

It was my first time getting a Russian Pedicure and my experience was amazing! Such great attention to detail and very crisp lines and not a bad price point either for the basic at $45 including gel polish. I never once felt rushed during my appt. The previous nail technician I saw completely botched my nails, drilling them too much and leaving sensitive uneven spots of damage on my nails. My tech (wish I could remember her name) was amazing at checking in with me and my pain level as she worked and was very gentle during the entire service! Love coming here for Russian/dry mani and pedis. The shop is very clean, cute and has a warm vibe. The staff and specifically Cecilia are fantastic. Cecilia is very attentive, has superb attention to detail and keen eye for beautiful design. She fixed my sore toes! Life gets hectic, but they help calendar my appointments ahead of time. It's so great they're respectful of appointment times and are always ready to go as soon as I come in. Looking forward to coming back in a few weeks! :) read more

EXTREMELY RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL!! I was so excited to finally try this place. I had been waiting months and decided to treat my mom and sister to pedicures for my mom's birthday. we figured out the best date & time but since my work schedule wasn't set yet, I just wanted an idea of what other times were open that weekend before her birthday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The first woman I spoke to didn't seem to understand what I was asking, and before I could clarify, another lady grabbed the phone and--while I was mid-sentence--began yelling "HELLO HELLO HELLOOOO."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I asked if she had just interrupted me, she said, "Yes, because you aren't understanding." That level of disrespect is unacceptable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Whether or not there was miscommunication, no client, especially a first-time client, deserves to be spoken to like that. At that point, I decided to end the call. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This was actually my second rude experience here. The first time I called months ago, the person who answered was also extremely dismissive, so I didn't book then either.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I gave it another chance, hoping it was just a bad day, but clearly this is how they choose to treat people. Public service announcement!! If you are a self-proclaimed germophobe like me, then this is the place to be. I used to avoid nail salons because no matter how much they claimed to be clean, it never felt hygienic enough for me. A few months ago, I was hearing all the rage about Russian manicures on TikTok and decided to give getting pedicures another chance. By luck, I found this little shop and I have never looked back since!! Not only are they very serious about cleanliness, but the nail tech I have worked with, Yasmin, is super meticulous with her work. Also, if you're into getting structured nails with builder gel, this is the place to go. You know how hard it is to find a nail tech who actually knows the technique to make the nails last. I am super hard on my hands and I've gotten good results with her work! One of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to getting services is feeling rushed, but that has never been the case here. They always take their time with you and make you feel pampered, which I love because I actually feel like I'm getting my money's worth. Not sure about the positive reviews. I had an unpleasant experience and didnt even make it there. Perhaps she was having a bad day or did not need new clients. Rude and snippy with sarcasm. There's a 25. Charge at time of appointment and a 20.00 fee removal charge. I didn't get a pleasant and welcoming vive. Moving on to better attitude. Honey, your response confirms my review. I can pay your rent if you need assistance. Asking for promotions is not wrong, especially when your fees are not posted. It's not necessary to go off on people. But you do you. read more

Amazing service! I was in desperate need of a mani/pedi. My coworker spoke highly of this place so I figured I'd give it a try. I've had the same nail tech for 10 years now at a different establishment in Whittier but the quality and longevity in my mani/pedi weren't the best anymore. I called around noon on a Wednesday for an appointment & they were able to see me same day! Upon arrival the decor is beautiful! I really appreciate that this business is LATINA owned! Everyone is very sweet and professional! Maddy provided my gel pedicure and gel manicure. I had really bad ingrown toenails and very rough heels (I'm a daily runner). I'm used to pain with the removal of ingrowns but I experienced NO pain with Maddy! My heels have never been softer as well! The color selection is beautiful! So many choices! Alejandra's team is so sweet and makes sure you get everything you're asking for. Upon walking in, everyone was so friendly and greeting me. This is the prettiest nail salon I ever been in. I love how it's simply pretty and there's accents everywhere to make the place more feminine and beautiful. I love the gray and white color schemes they have going on. I wanted to get my nails done for a boudoir photoshoot I did and Alejandra absolutely slayed my set. I went with a nude color and coffin shape. Acrylic set built with extension guide and not with tips which was lighter and lasted much longer. Pedicure was relaxing and made me feel so much better. The setup, chairs, decor, and nail technicians all exuded such powerful feminine energy. I could tell a lot of hard work went in to building the sanctuary for women to feel comfortable in and leave feeling empowered. read more

The service was acceptable, but I wouldn't return or recommend this place. The lack of experience was evident, and I had to endure the owner speaking poorly about her clients, including derogatory comments about their feet and race (specifically Caucasian clients). This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. After a 2 year break of getting nails done I finally decided to give another try. It was around Xmas time and I wanted to be ready for the holidays. I tried different nail salons in Downey before but they were very similar, always in a hurry with clients, they hurt my nail bed, I couldn't find one where I REALLY liked the job done. The business is very clean and stylish. And the attention to detail is everything! Yeraldin did my nails and took her time, removed my acrylics, took care of my natural nails and cleaned off the build up on the nail plate, she also clipped my cuticles and took care of them with an attachment on the drill. She used product to help make my nails healthier and stronger before applying the acrylic overlay. A single layer of acrylic to make my natural nail stronger. And then was detailed about to design I requested. This business only takes appointments as they only have 3-4 employees, they do ask for a $25 deposit that can be used toward your service. They have a strict cancellation policy, but understandable since they need your appointment to sustain business. They are kind and make you feel welcome! If you're Spanish speaking, so are they! My new favorite nail salon. I recently moved to La Mirada from OC. I had tried many other nails salons in the area and no one could get my nails the way I'm used to. That's until my daughter found this Latina owned gem! The atmosphere is super nice, the girls are very professional, they give you a Nini manicure before starting your nails not a lot of nail salons do it, and omg my nails are perfect! i definitely found my new nail salon! i called the morning of and was able to schedule an appointment the same day. from the second i walked in there was such a welcoming and positive energy. everyone was attentive and friendly. the salon was clean and so cutely decorated. i got my extra long sculpted acrylics done by alejandra and i couldn't be happier with the results. i came in with my natural nails very short which made the acrylic sculpting process harder than it typically would be, alejandra took this challenge and the extra time to make sure i left with acrylics which i am extremely thankful for. throughout the whole process she explained what she was doing while making me feel comfortable, as well as educating me on my nails and how to better care for them. thank you, i couldn't recommend this business more! read more

The first time I went, I was in so much pain from all the other regular nail salons not cutting my toes well. Annita was able to get all 4 ingrown sides out so effortlessly. Came here for the first time today to get a full acrylic set. I called in the morning and was able to get an appointment that afternoon. The owner was the one who did my nails and she not only did an amazing job but made me feel really comfortable the whole time. I'm not a really girly girl and haven't gotten my nails done since before the pandemic but I have a special occasion coming up and wanted to feel pretty. Needless to say I was nervous about getting my nails done but those nerves went away the second I walked into the salon. She also consistently asked questions about my nails to make sure they were exactly how I wanted them which I appreciated and she explained everything along the way. Out of the blue my grandma talked me into getting my toes done (I love how they come out I always get compliments) and the lady doing my toes asked to see my nails which is veryy normal I love when they take their time peaking at my set or while I get them done I find it so cute. she took a peak and said oh there cool huh that's when I knew I couldn't pay full price for my set but again I was too scared until another lady saw me looking at them too much and she came over asking to see my nails oh my days the face she made at them was beyondd. She immediately told my grandma to go to the side so she could fix them. Walking out the store my grandma told me I was definitely in the right when I said that my nails didn't look good compared to how they ended up coming out. We practically spent the whole day there at the salon but it was so worth it. A few months ago, I injured my hands and thought my natural nails were beyond saving. Tyn suggested switching to builder gel and simply told me, "Trust the process." I'm so glad I listened. Three months later, my natural nails are healthier and stronger than they've ever been. I used to be one of those "every two weeks" girls, but he always laughs and tells me, "Come on, I love you, but two weeks is too soon!" That's just how well his work holds up. The salon itself is always spotless, welcoming, and relaxing. The music is always on point, the sangria is a nice little treat, and every appointment honestly feels like a mini vacation instead of just another nail appointment. Everyone at Onyx is wonderful, but I also have to give a special shout-out to Myly Cyrus. She's the sweetest "cute auntie" and the absolute best when it comes to ingrown nail removal. She makes something uncomfortable feel easy. Onyx Nail Lounge is nothing like your typical nail chop shop. When I came the second time for the refill the person stated that I could not do a refill and that instead I needed to do a completely new set. I am upset that the nail tech lied to me. Never coming to this place again I do not like when the nail tech told me one thing and then charged differently. It is a very predatory tactic. Highly disappointed with my experience. Also for me they put something on my feet and it burned. One of my toes was left with a burn mark. The nail tech also didn't really understand English so it took her awhile to take off the product so I had to dip my foot inside so I wouldn't burn the rest of my toes.

Best nail salon in Whittier! I started coming here almost a year ago and I haven't been to another salon since. All of the techs are great and very sweet. Their work is great, whether you're looking for something simple or an intricate design. Russian-style manis and pedis are also incredible and I would highly recommend them to anyone who hasn't tried them before. I've visited this place three times, and each visit has been nice. The decor is lovely, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The Russian pedicure is definitely worth it--they do an excellent job cleaning cuticles and trimming nails, leaving them looking neat and clean. I've also gotten Gel-X nails, and the designs have always been exactly as requested, making them worth the price. I was embarrassed, but have some empathy and try to understand where I'm coming from as a client for that specific treatment.
