Dr. Cobanov herself is thorough and for families with routine pediatric needs, this office may be fine. Unfortunately, our experience with the office staff and overall responsiveness was extremely frustrating. On multiple occasions, we contacted the office regarding urgent concerns and paperwork involving our son through phone calls, portal messages and even the texting feature, often without timely responses. As parents of medically complex children know waiting days, or oftentimes in our experience, weeks for communication is simply not acceptable. Too often, we had to physically go into the office just to receive a response. The final straw came when we respectfully requested a basic medical summary letter for our son's school records outlining his diagnoses and care needs. Previous pediatricians and top medical specialists had always supported these requests and advocated for our son, but Dr. Cobanov declined. For families managing complex medical needs, strong communication and provider support are essential. We have since transitioned to a different local Redlands pediatrician whose office has been far more responsive, supportive and engaged in our son's overall wellbeing.

I'll be honest - after joining her for a few visits for our daughter (she's had some additional needs beyond your standard vaccine-in-and-out visits) I understand why. Dr. Tackie is an old-school doc - the kind that most of us thought we would be when pursuing this career. She practices Holistic medicine - and is somehow both efficient and comprehensive during our visits. Most importantly as a father; she helped me prepare. Like every other first-time parent I stood in the dark watching my child breathe at 3AM, just to know that they are. Despite my training, this parenthood thing is nerve-wracking. The little "heads-ups" that Dr. Tackie gave us about all the wild stuff our daughter would do have reduced that stress load. I rarely take the time to write a review of something - if I don't like a restaurant's food, I just don't eat it; but I know how hard it is to deliver the kind of care that my daughter is getting at this clinic - and we'll continue driving 45 minutes in traffic to get it.

I have had concerns about treatment my daughter received without my prior knowledge or notice, including questions surrounding her July 14, 2025 visit. Instead of feeling like my questions were being taken seriously and answered transparently, I ultimately felt as though my efforts to understand my daughter's care were being treated as a problem. At one point, my questions regarding my daughter's treatment were even characterized as harassment. That is deeply concerning to me. A parent asking when their child was treated, what treatment was provided, who authorized it, and requesting access to the child's medical information should not be made to feel inappropriate for asking those questions. My most recent experiences have only reinforced my concern about how difficult it has been to obtain clear, meaningful information regarding my daughter's healthcare. Whatever issues may exist between parents should not interfere with a medical provider communicating accurately and professionally about a child's care or maintaining appropriate medical records. I expect a pediatric practice to put the child first, maintain neutrality between parents, accurately document what occurs, and respond professionally when a parent has legitimate questions about their child's health. Unfortunately, my experience with Gold Star Pediatrics has left me with serious concerns about whether that standard has been met. I am sharing this because parents should be able to ask questions about their children's medical care without feeling dismissed, marginalized, or characterized negatively simply for seeking information.

Coverage was approved upon visit, but later discovered that that providers were not cover so I was billed everything about $500 in total. I figured I'd just pay to keep my kids there since we were sure that insurance was going to cover their visits moving forward. I took their recommendation. And tried to dispute it with the insurance company who denied the claim. The account was flagged and they wouldn't see my kids unless the account was current, so I made sure payment was made toward what I owed. I agreed to make payments which I was not told would be automatically deducted. Apparently, I need to call in every month and make payments. No statements, emails...nothing. Now, because of an outstanding $320 (after the first payment was made), I was sent to collections. No phone calls or any reach out notify me that that was being done. This has been over a year of frustration ending in us now moving providers, my credit negatively being affected, and a a ridiculous amount of frustration for $320. Additionally, I've worked with many providers that have also given me discounted rates when services aren't covered but there was no budging here. I hope it was worth the $320!
