We're one baby in, and currently at 37 weeks on baby #2. We've had our first one at this practice since birth, and my wife trusts Dr. Tackie more than me...and I'm a (resident) doctor. I'll be honest - after joining her for a few visits for our daughter (she's had some additional needs beyond your standard vaccine-in-and-out visits) I understand why. Dr. Tackie is an old-school doc - the kind that most of us thought we would be when pursuing this career. She practices Holistic medicine - and is somehow both efficient and comprehensive during our visits. Most importantly as a father; she helped me prepare. Like every other first-time parent I stood in the dark watching my child breathe at 3AM, just to know that they are. Despite my training, this parenthood thing is nerve-wracking. The little "heads-ups" that Dr. Tackie gave us about all the wild stuff our daughter would do have reduced that stress load. I rarely take the time to write a review of something - if I don't like a restaurant's food, I just don't eat it; but I know how hard it is to deliver the kind of care that my daughter is getting at this clinic - and we'll continue driving 45 minutes in traffic to get it. read more

My experience with Gold Star Pediatrics has been extremely disappointing, particularly as a mother simply trying to obtain accurate information about my child's medical care. I have had concerns about treatment my daughter received without my prior knowledge or notice, including questions surrounding her July 14, 2025 visit. Instead of feeling like my questions were being taken seriously and answered transparently, I ultimately felt as though my efforts to understand my daughter's care were being treated as a problem. At one point, my questions regarding my daughter's treatment were even characterized as harassment. That is deeply concerning to me. A parent asking when their child was treated, what treatment was provided, who authorized it, and requesting access to the child's medical information should not be made to feel inappropriate for asking those questions. My most recent experiences have only reinforced my concern about how difficult it has been to obtain clear, meaningful information regarding my daughter's healthcare. Whatever issues may exist between parents should not interfere with a medical provider communicating accurately and professionally about a child's care or maintaining appropriate medical records. I expect a pediatric practice to put the child first, maintain neutrality between parents, accurately document what occurs, and respond professionally when a parent has legitimate questions about their child's health. Unfortunately, my experience with Gold Star Pediatrics has left me with serious concerns about whether that standard has been met. I am sharing this because parents should be able to ask questions about their children's medical care without feeling dismissed, marginalized, or characterized negatively simply for seeking information. read more

I am extremely disappointed with this pediatric office. They claim to have a strict no-show policy and state they will no longer see patients after a no-show. However, we did NOT no-show -we notified the front office in advance to cancel the appointment, yet we were still marked as a no-show. When I called to schedule an appt and then get told this information and try to resolve it, the manager told me, "If your daughter has asthma, then why doesn't she have a Dr ." That comment was incredibly concerning and unprofessional. We recently switched from Kaiser and were trying to establish care especially because my daughter has asthma and needs consistent medical support. Patient care and communication should be a priority, particularly in a pediatric setting. Front office staff should clearly explain cancellation policies and ensure appointments are properly canceled to avoid situations like this. Families deserve accurate information and respectful treatment. read more

Loved this office the staff was great I know they can be Rude I've seen it but never with us. We have been seeing this doctor for our kids for years but lately they have been calling my house pushing vaccines and blaming it on the insurance company saying they were wondering when I'm going to vaccinate my kids. Since when do insurance companies give a hell about that? We took my daughter to get her mandated vaccine for school and opted out of one "not required" but recommend vaccines, and the doctor threw a fit and said she won't see our kids anymore. Shame on her, she took an oath and only cares about making money over helping families. Will never come back or refer anyone to her ever again. read more

Where do I start with Dr. Tackie? First of all, her front desk staff and nurses are amaaazing! They're all so nice and welcoming. There's nothing worse than a great doctor with horrible staff in the office. I've experienced that one too many times. The waiting room is super cute. They have a little play area with books and a tablet with games for the kiddos to play on while they wait. We have seen Dr. Tackie twice now and she has been the best doctor we've seen so far. She doesn't rush through her appointments or cut you off when you ask questions. She really sits there and listens to you and your concerns during visits. I was nervous about getting my daughter's ear pierced but Dr. Tackie made me feel comfortable with the process. Her voice is soothing and calms your nerves down. The best part of the experience is the love she has for babies. My daughter was so loved and Dr. Tackie even sang the ABC's to her. I've never seen a doctor care so much about babies. The process was not rushed and even Dr. Tackie went back on one ear to make a better mark for the ear piecing and perfected the spot on both ears. Came here because they do ear piercing. The waiting room has a play kitchen and a kiddie table with Lysol wipes available to clean yourself. There's also a tv with games the kids can play too! I love that everything kept my daughter busy. The front staff was very friendly and attentive. She broke down all the prices and explained thoroughly the differences. Just to be clear this one star rating is mainly for the doctors front office staff and the office in general. I can't categorically rate the doctor as we only met with her once. But we ended our doctor patient relationship with her before it really even got started and I can mostly blame that on her front office staff member her name escapes me for now. We were scheduled to bring in my 14mo baby girl a couple weeks after her initial sit down with us. So we show up to her first official appointment at the scheduled time in which I had my wife go check her in as we didn't want to be late and she arrives to a locked office door and the office had been open for almost a half hour. The front office reseptsonsist comes to the door "in-masked" to inform my wife that she wouldn't let us in until we fill out some 10-15 questionnaire. Meanwhile I'm getting our daughter out of our vehicle and my wife meets me half way to the office and it's one of those hot mornings approaching 80°+ and I was rushing to get my child into the air conditioned office. I was obviously upset that this questionnaire was going to delay me getting my child into the cool office. So naturally questioned it. So she proceeds to argue with me saying it's new procedure and they change all the time without notice. Our appointment was almost 2 weeks between our last appointment existed I understand policies change without notice but this questionnaire was laminated so there was some notice involved and there no reason why they couldn't have notified their up coming appointments prior either by email or text to recommend we show up a few minutes early to fill out their stupid questionnaire instead of us finding out right at the door standing in the heat with my child. On top of all that the receptionist began to act snotty and argumentative with me which was unprofessional. Had they informed their appointments according the situation could have been avoided and the doctor wouldn't have lost a brand new patient! Or better yet a simple temperature check of all three of us like every other doctors office does what have made things a lot less complicated. read more

I was stunned when the doctor told us on our first visit that we could not take my son to other physicians anymore. I'm all about freedom and parental rights. My son had a lot of medical issues and we would spend our last pennies trying to find a doctor that could help. This doctor did not think my son's condition was even treatable and she wanted us to just give up? We weren't going to be "allowed" to see other doctors? Fortunately, we never went back to this place and we found a pediatrician that has recovered my son from his medical issues. I'm amazed at all the positive reviews. Words cannot even begin to express the amount of love and appreciation I have for Dr. Tackie and her staff. We have had experiences with a couple of other pediatricians closer to home, and never felt this comfortable with a physician. Dr Tackie is AMAZING. She is kind, patient, compassionate, and very thorough. She is not afraid to get down on the floor with the kids and is more than willing to help where she can to make sure both you, as a parent, and your child are ok. I brought my newborn in for a fever and had my older son there with me. My newborn had to be transported to the ER via ambulance and was not able to bring my older son with me unless I drove separately. Naturally, I was completely flustered and emotionally a wreak. In all the chaos, Dr Tackie went above and beyond her scope of practice to help me calm down and trust that everything was going to be ok. She and her staff even offered to help keep an eye on my older son until someone picked him up. They even helped installed the car seat! Long story short, never have I experienced such care and devotion to the children she treats. I've never had a problem with scheduling. They communicate very well with you through the phone or their portal. And Dr Tackie is also available all the time. Lastly, I have also encountered Dr Tackie as a fellow healthcare professional and she is very respectful. I am so happy I found her and recommend her to everyone! read more

We've been seeing Dr. Tackie for 5 years now and let me tell you, she is the best around. She is so thorough and pretty much always available to answer questions. She always answers our messages and answers after hours calls. Good luck finding another office that does that. She knows her stuff and is very quick to make sure she gets you connected to the specialists or services your child needs. I HIGHLY recommend her...so much so, that we go out of our way to pay out of pocket to see her because our insurance isn't contracted. Dr. Tackie has an amazing establishment here! We originally went with a pediatrician that was recommended by the hospital and had a horrible experience. We decide to give Goldstar pediatrics and shot and haven't been disappointed. From the very first phone call they have been very accommodating, polite and friendly. At our first appointment Dr. Tackie introduced herself to us and our newborn, she held him, talked to him and changed his diaper. I felt she truly cared about our baby. She's so personable and has a great way with our son. She also explains everything to us as parents and always answers my new mommy questions. We couldn't be happier. We also love that the clinic is technology friendly! We are able to make appointments online, send messages and upload documents via our portal. For parents on the go this couldn't be easier. I recent sent a message asking about my sons poop (yes poop lol) I uploaded a pic and Dr. Tackie promptly responded answering my questions and putting my mind at ease. I would not recommend this office. Tackie is very controlling and makes life difficult for a special needs family. She thinks ADHD is something that will get better and makes you retest your kid every 6 months. She also wants you to bring your kids in as often as possible, so unless you enjoy going to the doctor and being undermined as a parent, then I certainly would not recommend this doctor. read more

Treats them with respect and is well practiced when it comes to the developmental stages and will address them appropriately for their age group. My daughter LOVES buzzy. I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Tackie and her entire staff. She is the third pediatrician we went to with our first baby and by far the best. She not only actually cares about your kids but also you. I was 2 months postpartum and having a rough time and she was so attentive to both my son and I. I now have another baby and once again, she was super attentive to how I was doing (much better this time). When I bring them both in because I don't have another option, Dr. Tackie is so helpful. She held my newborn while I was getting my one year old ready to be checked and then had her assistant hold her while she checked out my son. Little things like that really add to the experience. She explains everything very well, and actually sits down and listens to you. She's always available on her emergency line and with same day appointments. Dr. Tackie and the staff have been so helpful and wonderful since the beginning of making the appointment! The front staff had everything ready as we walked in and their website was easy to navigate to print out paperwork. They even verified our insurance before we had an appointment which I found to be helpful and she explained our benefits. I was worried to to find a doctors office that would be patient and caring to our children since like most our children have anxiety to doctors. Once we walked in the kids felt comfortable with all the things to keep them busy while we wait our turn. Dr. Tackie explained everything perfectly and explained things to my son so he understood everything. At the end of the apt we checked out and finding the follow up appointment was easy. First and foremost, I wanted to say I am flabbergasted and in awe with the reviews. My dad took my little sister here because she felt so sick and terrible. She had to be dismissed and leave school early to make it to her doctor's appointment. After seeing the physician she's just stated that my sister has a common cold and she just needs a hot shower to relieve her stuffy nose. WHAT...?! Are you freaking serious?? My sister feels like death, coughing like her lungs are about to pop right out her mouth, and shoves tissues up her nose to keep it from dripping. Don't even get me started on my parents... My parents are extremely pissed at her for being sick and thinking that she's 'pretending' or she's avoiding OTC medicine. Seriously... What kind of doctor just tells someone that they're not sick enough and just needs a shower? I am beyond irate at how this doctor didn't even take the initiative to cure and treat my sister. Where is the medication that you should have prescribed to my tremendously ill sister?! Just UNBELIEVABLE and RIDICULOUS. read more

I took my daughter here to get her ears pierced when she was about 6 months old. I was under the impression that since it is a doctors office, it would be more professional, safer and use sterile needles vs a piercing gun. This did not happen. I paid $75 for her ears to be pierced with a gun, which I didn't know until I got there and was in the room and had already paid my money. The Dr who pierced her ears pierced in a completely wrong spot and hurried up to take the earring out and had to go get another one and then shot my daughters ear again. Didn't offer an apology for the mishap, simply said "baby's move". Didn't offer any for. Of discount for shooting my daughters ear twice. Nothing. Then when I went to the front the receptionist proceeded to ask how it went and after I told her led with the same "oh, well baby's do move" comment. I was livid. Not only did I over pay for the service, they only had 2 earrings to choose from and they shot my daughters ear two times because evidently, they don't see enough baby's for ear piercing to find a better technique for not having to essential hurt a child twice. At least offer a discounted rate and a genuine apology. I could have taken her to the mall for a lot less money and they would have gotten it right on the dot (I've seen them do it.) furthermore, stop being cheap and start using needles. It shows that you aren't professional piercers and that you are no more qualified than a mall kiosk worker in terms of piercing. Just luring people in under the guise that you are a trusted doctor. It should not be that way. Do better. read more

I am so happy I was referred here! My previous pediatrician made me feel a little crazy about wanting my son evaluated for adhd/asd and Dr Tackie has been so supportive! The appointments don't feel rushed, she really takes her time to ask questions, answer questions, and she isn't dismissive. Even with being referred different places, she wants to stay involved with everything and be in the loop. It's so easy getting an appointment, and also so easy to get in contact with her and the office. The patient portal they use is so helpful!
